Financial Discrepancies and Uproar at the General Body: 'AMMA' Governing Council Resigns; President Shwetha Menon Quits Association Membership

കൊച്ചി: മലയാള സിനിമാ താരങ്ങളുടെ സംഘടനയായ 'അമ്മ' ഭരണസമിതി രാജിവച്ചു. കൊച്ചിയില് നടന്ന വാര്ഷിക ജനറല് ബോഡി യോഗത്തിലെ കടുത്ത തര്ക്കങ്ങള്ക്കും നാടകീയ രംഗങ്ങള്ക്കും ഒടുവിലാണ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ശ്വേത മേനോന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള 17 അംഗ ഭരണസമിതി രാജിവച്ചത്.
ജനറല് സെക്രട്ടറി കുക്കു പരമേശ്വരന് അവതരിപ്പിച്ച വാര്ഷിക റിപ്പോര്ട്ടിലെ വരവ്-ചെലവ് കണക്കുകളെ ചൊല്ലി യോഗത്തില് വലിയ തര്ക്കമുണ്ടായി. സിദ്ധിഖ്, ബാബുരാജ്, രഞ്ജി പണിക്കര് തുടങ്ങിയ അംഗങ്ങള് കണക്കുകളില് ഗുരുതരമായ പിഴവുകളുണ്ടെന്ന് ആരോപിച്ച് റിപ്പോര്ട്ട് പാസാക്കുന്നതിനെ ശക്തമായി എതിര്ത്തു.
'അമ്മ'യുടെ ജനറല് ബോഡി യോഗത്തില് പ്രതിപക്ഷ വിഭാഗം ഭരണസമിതിക്കെതിരെ അവിശ്വാസപ്രമേയം കൊണ്ടുവരാന് ഒരുങ്ങി. വോട്ടെടുപ്പിലേക്ക് കടക്കുന്നതിന് തൊട്ടുമുമ്പ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ശ്വേതാ മേനോനും ജനറല് സെക്രട്ടറി കുക്കു പരമേശ്വരനും അടങ്ങുന്ന മുഴുവന് ഭരണസമിതി അംഗങ്ങളും ഒന്നിച്ച് രാജിവെക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. വലിയ പ്രതീക്ഷകളോടെ വന്ന വനിതാ ഭരണസമിതിയാണ് ഇതോടെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞത്.
ജോയിന്റ് സെക്രട്ടറിയായിരുന്ന അന്സിബ ഹസന് നേരത്തെ തന്നെ പദവി രാജിവച്ചിരുന്നു. കമ്മിറ്റിക്കുള്ളില് തനിക്ക് നേരെ വര്ഗീയമായ അധിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും മാനസിക പീഡനങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടായതായി അന്സിബ ആരോപിച്ചു. ഫണ്ട് ശേഖരണത്തിനായി മതസംഘടനകളെ സ്പോണ്സര്മാരാക്കുന്നതിനെ ചൊല്ലിയും ഭരണസമിതിയില് കടുത്ത ഭിന്നത നിലനിന്നിരുന്നു.
'കണക്കുകള് പരിശോധിക്കാന് 45 ദിവസത്തെ സമയം ഞാന് ചോദിച്ചെങ്കിലും ഒരു വിഭാഗം അംഗങ്ങള് അതിന് സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല. വെറുമൊരു പാവയായി ഈ കസേരയില് ഇരിക്കാന് എനിക്ക് താല്പര്യമില്ല. പ്രസിഡന്റ് സ്ഥാനത്തു നിന്നും സംഘടനയുടെ പ്രാഥമിക അംഗത്വത്തില് നിന്നും ഞാന് പൂര്ണ്ണമായി രാജിവയ്ക്കുകയാണ്, ശ്വേത പറഞ്ഞു.
തര്ക്കങ്ങള് കൈവിട്ടുപോയ സാഹചര്യത്തില് മുന് പ്രസിഡന്റ് മോഹന്ലാല് യോഗത്തില് ഇടപെടണമെന്ന് കെ.ബി. ഗണേശ് കുമാര് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. ജനറല് ബോഡി ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്ത മോഹന്ലാല് മൈക്കിന് മുന്നിലെത്തി അതീവ വൈകാരികമായാണ് സംസാരിച്ചത്.
'അംഗങ്ങള്ക്കിടയില് വ്യക്തിപരമായ ഭിന്നതകള് എന്തുതന്നെ ഉണ്ടായാലും, ഈ സംഘടനയെ ഒരു തരത്തിലും തകര്ക്കാന് ആര്ക്കും സാധിക്കില്ല.'സംഘടനയുടെ ഐക്യം തകര്ക്കരുതെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം അഭ്യര്ത്ഥിച്ചെങ്കിലും, അവിശ്വാസ പ്രമേയ ചര്ച്ചകളിലേക്ക് കാര്യങ്ങള് നീങ്ങിയതോടെ ഭരണസമിതി പൂര്ണ്ണമായി പിന്വാങ്ങാന് തീരുമാനിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
2024-ല് ഹേമ കമ്മിറ്റി റിപ്പോര്ട്ട് പുറത്തുവന്നതിനെ തുടര്ന്ന് മോഹന്ലാലിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള കമ്മിറ്റി രാജിവച്ച ശേഷമാണ് ശ്വേതാ മേനോന്, കുക്കു പരമേശ്വരന് എന്നിവരടങ്ങുന്ന വനിതാ പ്രാതിനിധ്യമുള്ള ഈ ഭരണസമിതി 2025-ല് അധികാരമേറ്റത്. എന്നാല് ഒരു വര്ഷം തികയുന്നതിന് മുന്പ് തന്നെ ഈ സമിതിയും വിവാദങ്ങളില്പ്പെട്ട് തകരുകയായിരുന്നു.

Shwetha Menon alleged that there were massive discrepancies in the accounts from the tenure of Baburaj, who served as the treasurer in the previous committee, and that the current treasurer, Unni Sivapal, has gone missing. She also stated that the association was unwilling to resolve a police complaint related to the dismissal of the office manager.
Joint Secretary Ansiba Hassan had already resigned from her post earlier. Ansiba alleged that she faced communal slurs and mental harassment within the committee. Intense divisions had also persisted within the governing council regarding the selection of religious organizations as sponsors for fundraising.
"I asked for 45 days to verify the financial accounts, but a section of the members did not agree to it. I have no interest in sitting in this chair as a mere puppet. I am fully resigning from the post of President as well as the primary membership of the association."
As the arguments spiraled out of control, K. B. Ganesh Kumar requested former president Mohanlal to intervene in the meeting. Mohanlal, who had inaugurated the General Body, took the microphone and spoke very emotionally:
"Whatever personal differences may exist among the members, no one will be able to destroy this organization in any way."
Although he appealed not to break the unity of the association, the governing council decided to step down completely as things moved toward a discussion on a no-confidence motion.
The women-represented governing council, including Shwetha Menon and Kukku Parameswaran, took charge in 2025 after the Mohanlal-led committee resigned following the release of the Hema Committee report in 2024. However, even before completing a single year in office, this committee has also collapsed under the weight of controversies.
