തിരുവനന്തപുരം : പുതിയ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തത്തെ ഒരു 'ദൈവനിയോഗം' എന്നാണ് നിയുക്ത കേരള മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ശേഷം നടത്തിയ വാര്‍ത്താ സമ്മേളനത്തില്‍ വി.ഡി. സതീശന്‍ വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ചത്. പ്രസ്ഥാനം വലിയൊരു ദൗത്യമാണ് തന്നെ ഏല്‍പ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.

കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് അധ്യക്ഷന്‍ മല്ലികാര്‍ജുന്‍ ഖര്‍ഗെ, രാഹുല്‍ ഗാന്ധി എന്നിവരോടും കേന്ദ്ര നേതൃത്വത്തോടും അദ്ദേഹം നന്ദി രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി.

രമേശ് ചെന്നിത്തല തന്റെ നേതാവാണെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പക്വമായ നിലപാടാണ് സ്വീകരിച്ചതെന്നും സതീശന്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. കെ.സി. വേണുഗോപാല്‍ തനിക്ക് പൂര്‍ണ്ണ പിന്തുണ നല്‍കിയതായും അദ്ദേഹം വാര്‍ത്താസമ്മേളനത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

'ടീം യുഡിഎഫ്' ആയി മുന്നോട്ട് പോകുമെന്നും തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് പ്രകടനപത്രികയില്‍ നല്‍കിയ വാഗ്ദാനങ്ങള്‍ നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നതില്‍ ശ്രദ്ധ കേന്ദ്രീകരിക്കുമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു.

ഹൈക്കമാന്‍ഡ് ഏല്‍പ്പിച്ച വലിയ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തത്തിന് അദ്ദേഹം നന്ദി അറിയിച്ചു. എല്ലാവരെയും യോജിപ്പിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകുമെന്നും, കേരളത്തിന്റെ വികസനത്തിനായി മുന്നോട്ട് നീങ്ങുമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ഇന്ന് വൈകുന്നേരം തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് ചേരുന്ന കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് പാര്‍ലമെന്ററി പാര്‍ട്ടി യോഗത്തില്‍ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഔദ്യോഗികമായി നേതാവായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കും.

തുടര്‍ന്ന് ഗവര്‍ണറെ കണ്ട് സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ രൂപീകരിക്കാനുള്ള അവകാശവാദം ഉന്നയിക്കും. സത്യപ്രതിജ്ഞാ ചടങ്ങുകള്‍ ഉടന്‍ തന്നെ ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍.

പത്തുദിവസത്തോളം നീണ്ടുനിന്ന അനിശ്ചിതത്വങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ചര്‍ച്ചകള്‍ക്കും ശേഷമാണ് എ.ഐ.സി.സി നിരീക്ഷകര്‍ വി.ഡി. സതീശന്റെ പേര് ഔദ്യോഗികമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചത്. 140 അംഗ നിയമസഭയില്‍ 102 സീറ്റുകള്‍ നേടിയാണ് യു.ഡി.എഫ് അധികാരത്തിലേറുന്നത്.  

കെ.സി. വേണുഗോപാല്‍, രമേശ് ചെന്നിത്തല എന്നിവരുടെ പേരുകളും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി സ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് പരിഗണിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ എം.എല്‍.എമാരുടെ ഭൂരിപക്ഷാഭിപ്രായവും സതീശന്റെ പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവ് എന്ന നിലയിലുള്ള പ്രവര്‍ത്തനമികവും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് തുണയായി.

പറവൂര്‍ മണ്ഡലത്തില്‍ നിന്നു തുടര്‍ച്ചയായ ആറാം തവണയാണ് വി.ഡി. സതീശന്‍ നിയമസഭയിലെത്തുന്നത്. സി.പി.ഐയിലെ ഇ.ടി. ടൈസണ്‍ മാസ്റ്ററെ 20,600 വോട്ടുകള്‍ക്കാണ് അദ്ദേഹം പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തിയത്.  

Summary: Following his selection as the designated Chief Minister of Kerala, V.D. Satheesan, in a press conference, described his new responsibility as "Divine Providence." He stated that the movement has entrusted him with a massive mission.

He expressed his gratitude to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and the central leadership. Satheesan clarified that Ramesh Chennithala is his leader and has adopted a mature stance. He also mentioned that K.C. Venugopal provided him with full support.

He added that they would move forward as "Team UDF" and focus on implementing the promises made in the election manifesto.

He thanked the High Command for the great responsibility entrusted to him. He stated that he would take everyone along and move forward for the development of Kerala. He will be officially elected as the leader at the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting to be held in Thiruvananthapuram this evening.

Subsequently, he will meet the Governor to stake a claim to form the government. Reports suggest that the swearing-in ceremony will take place soon.

The official announcement of V.D. Satheesan's name by AICC observers came after ten days of uncertainty and discussions. The UDF is coming to power after winning 102 seats in the 140-member Assembly.

The names of K.C. Venugopal and Ramesh Chennithala were also considered for the post of Chief Minister. However, the majority opinion of the MLAs and Satheesan's performance as the Leader of the Opposition worked in his favor.
