കാമുകനൊപ്പം ജീവിക്കാന്‍ കുഞ്ഞിനെ കടല്‍ഭിത്തിയില്‍ എറിഞ്ഞുകൊന്ന ശരണ്യ കുറ്റക്കാരി, ശിക്ഷാവിധി 21 ന്

Saranya Found Guilty of Murdering Toddler to Live with Lover; Sentencing on the 21st

കണ്ണൂര്‍ : കണ്ണൂര്‍ തയ്യിലില്‍ ഒന്നര വയസ്സുകാരനായ വിയാനെ കടലിലെറിഞ്ഞ് കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയ കേസില്‍ അമ്മ ശരണ്യ കുറ്റക്കാരിയെന്ന് തളിപ്പറമ്പ് അഡിഷണല്‍ സെഷന്‍സ് കോടതി കോടതി വിധിച്ചു. തെളിവുകളുടെ അഭാവത്തില്‍ രണ്ടാം പ്രതിയും ശരണ്യയുടെ സുഹൃത്തുമായ നിധിനെ കോടതി വെറുതെ വിട്ടു. ശിക്ഷാ വിധി ജനുവരി 21-ന് പ്രസ്താവിക്കും.

വിധി കേള്‍ക്കുന്നതിനായി ശരണ്യയെ കോടതിയില്‍ ഹാജരാക്കിയിരുന്നു. 2020 ഫെബ്രുവരി 17-നായിരുന്നു നാടിനെ നടുക്കിയ സംഭവം നടന്നത്. ഉറങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുകയായിരുന്ന കുഞ്ഞിനെ പുലര്‍ച്ചെ വീട്ടില്‍ നിന്ന് എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോയി തയ്യില്‍ കടല്‍ തീരത്തെ കരിങ്കല്‍ ഭിത്തിയിലേക്ക് എറിഞ്ഞ് കൊലപ്പെടുത്തുകയായിരുന്നു.

കാമുകനൊപ്പം ജീവിക്കുന്നതിനായി കുഞ്ഞ് തടസ്സമാകുമെന്ന് കരുതിയാണ് ശരണ്യ ഈ ക്രൂരകൃത്യം ചെയ്തതെന്ന് പോലീസ് അന്വേഷണത്തില്‍ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരുന്നു.

ശരണ്യയുടെ വസ്ത്രത്തില്‍ ഉപ്പുവെള്ളത്തിന്റെയും മണലിന്റെയും സാന്നിധ്യം ഫോറന്‍സിക് പരിശോധനയില്‍ കണ്ടെത്തിയത് കേസില്‍ നിര്‍ണ്ണായക തെളിവായി. കുഞ്ഞിനെ കാണാനില്ലെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് ശരണ്യ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു ആദ്യം പോലീസിനെ തെറ്റിദ്ധരിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചത്.

ശരണ്യക്കെതിരെ ഭര്‍ത്താവ് നേരത്തെ പരസ്യമായി രംഗത്ത് വന്നിരുന്നു. കേസിലെ വിചാരണ തുടങ്ങാനിരിക്കെ ശരണ്യ ആത്മഹത്യയ്ക്ക് ശ്രമിച്ചതും വാര്‍ത്തകളില്‍ ഇടം നേടിയിരുന്നു.

Summary:  The Thaliparamba Additional Sessions Court has found Saranya guilty of murdering her one-and-a-half-year-old son, Viyan, by throwing him against the sea wall in Thayyil, Kannur. Due to a lack of evidence, the court acquitted the second accused, Saranya’s friend Nidhin. The sentence will be pronounced on January 21st.

The shocking crime occurred on February 17, 2020. While the child was asleep in the early hours of the morning, Saranya took him from the house and threw him against the granite sea wall at Thayyil beach.

Police investigations revealed that Saranya committed the act because she believed the child would be an obstacle to her living with her lover.

 Forensic evidence proved pivotal in the case. Tests confirmed the presence of saltwater and sand on Saranya’s clothes.

 Initially, Saranya attempted to mislead the police by claiming that the child had gone missing. Saranya's husband had previously come forward publicly against her. It was also noted in reports that Saranya had attempted suicide just before the trial was set to begin.
