വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച രാത്രി 9:30ന് ജെയിംസ് വേദിയിലെത്താനിരിക്കെയാണ് ഒരു കൂട്ടം പുറത്തുനിന്നുള്ളവര് വേദിയിലേക്ക് അതിക്രമിച്ചു കയറാന് ശ്രമിച്ചത്. സുരക്ഷാ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും സംഘാടകരും ഇവരെ തടഞ്ഞതോടെ ഇവര് അക്രമാസക്തരായി. വേദിയിലേക്കും കാണികള്ക്കിടയിലേക്കും ഇഷ്ടികകളും കല്ലുകളും വലിച്ചെറിഞ്ഞു. പരിക്കേറ്റവരില് ഭൂരിഭാഗവും സ്റ്റേജിന് മുന്വശത്ത് നിന്നിരുന്ന വിദ്യാര്ത്ഥികളാണ്. തലയ്ക്കും കൈകാലുകള്ക്കും പരിക്കേറ്റ ഇവരെ ആശുപത്രിയില് പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു.

The Attack: Around 9:30 PM on Friday, as James was about to take the stage, a group of outsiders tried to force their way into the venue. When security personnel and organizers blocked them, they turned violent, hurling stones and bricks at the stage and the audience.
Casualties: Most of those injured were students standing near the front of the stage. Many sustained head and limb injuries and have been admitted to the hospital.
Administrative Action: As the situation deteriorated, the district administration ordered the cancellation of the program citing law and order concerns. Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Shamim, the organizing committee convener, officially announced the cancellation around 10:00 PM.
Singer Safe: Singer James had a narrow escape and was moved to a secure location by security officials.
Growing Intolerance:
Local reports suggest that the attackers opposed the holding of musical and cultural festivals, demanding such events be stopped. Although the attackers have not been officially identified, the incident has sparked widespread concern over increasing intolerance toward cultural programs in various parts of the country.
Faridpur Zilla School, established in 1840 during the British era, is one of the oldest government institutions in the region. The two-day celebrations, which began on Thursday, ended abruptly following this unfortunate incident.
