നീറ്റ് പരീക്ഷാ ക്രമക്കേടുകളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടുള്ള വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥി പ്രക്ഷോഭങ്ങളും പൊതുജനരോഷവും ശക്തമായതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മന്ത്രി ധര്‍മ്മേന്ദ്ര പ്രധാന്‍ രാജിവച്ചതാണ് ഈ നീക്കങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പെട്ടെന്ന് വേഗം കൂട്ടിയത്. മലയാളിയായ ജോര്‍ജ് കുര്യന്‍, മറ്റൊരു സഹമന്ത്രി രവ്നീത് സിംഗ് ബിട്ടു എന്നിവരുടെ രാജിയടക്കം ഒഴിവായ പ്രധാന തസ്തികകളിലേക്ക് പുതിയ ആളുകളെ കണ്ടെത്താനും നിര്‍ണായക വകുപ്പുകളുടെ ചുമതല പുനര്‍നിര്‍ണയിക്കാനും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയുടെ ഓഫീസ് നിര്‍ബന്ധിതരായിരിക്കുകയാണ്.

ആഭ്യന്തര മന്ത്രി അമിത് ഷാ ഉപപ്രധാമന്ത്രി ആകാന്‍ സാദ്ധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്നു ചില റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍ വരുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇക്കാര്യത്തില്‍ ആര്‍ എസ് എസ് നിലപാട് വളരെ പ്രധാനമായിരിക്കും. ധനമന്ത്രി നിര്‍മല സീതാരാമനെ ധനമന്ത്രാലയത്തില്‍ നിന്നു മാറ്റിയേക്കുമെന്നു ശ്രുതിയുണ്ട്. നിര്‍മലക്കു വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ വകുപ്പ് നല്കുമെന്നായിരുന്നു പൊതുവേ കേട്ടിരുന്നത്. എന്നാല്‍, പ്രഹ് ളാദ് ജോഷിക്കു തിരക്കിട്ട് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ വകുപ്പിന്റെ ചുമതല കൂടി നല്കിയിരിക്കുകയാണ്. ഇതു തത്കാലത്തേയ്ക്കുള്ള നടപടിയാണോ എന്നു വ്യക്തമല്ല. റിസര്‍വ് ബാങ്ക് ഗവര്‍ണറായിരുന്ന ശക്തികാന്ത ദാസിനെ പുതിയ ധനമന്ത്രിയാക്കാനും ആലോചനയുണ്ട്. കൂടാതെ ഗ്രാമവികസനം, തൊഴിലവസരങ്ങള്‍, നൈപുണ്യ വികസനം, അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യ വികസനം എന്നിവ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുന്ന മന്ത്രാലയങ്ങളില്‍ പുതിയ നിയമനങ്ങളോ വകുപ്പുമാറ്റങ്ങളോ പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാം.
