മുംബയ് : സ്റ്റാന്‍ഡ് അപ് കൊമേഡിയനുമൊത്തുള്ള ഷോയ്ക്കിടെ പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ മൃതദേഹങ്ങള്‍ പോസ്റ്റുമോര്‍ട്ടം ചെയ്യുന്ന വേളയില്‍ അവരുടെ ജനനേന്ദ്രിയത്തിന്റെ വലുപ്പം നോക്കി തമാശ പറയാറുണ്ടെന്നു പറഞ്ഞ മെഡിക്കല്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിനി സെജല്‍ പവാറിനെ നിര്‍ബന്ധിത അവധിയില്‍ വിട്ടു.

15 ദിവസത്തെ അവധിയിലാണ് സെജല്‍ പവാറിനെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. കാമ്പസില്‍ പ്രവേശിക്കാന്‍ പാടില്ലെന്നതുള്‍പ്പെടെ കര്‍ശന ഉപാധികള്‍ വച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇവര്‍ക്കെതിരേ കൂടുതല്‍ നടപടി ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. 

മുംബയിലെ കെ.ഇ.എം ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിലെ എം.ബി.ബി.എസ് വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിനിയാണ് സെജല്‍ പവാര്‍. പ്രമുഖ സ്റ്റാന്‍ഡ്-അപ്പ് കോമഡിയന്‍ പ്രണീത് മോറെ നയിച്ച കോമഡി ഷോയ്ക്കിടെയാണ് വിവാദമായ സംഭവം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത്. ഷോയില്‍ കാണിയായി എത്തിയ കെ.ഇ.എം ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിലെ അണ്ടര്‍ഗ്രാജുവേറ്റ് മെഡിക്കല്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിനിയായ സെജല്‍ പവാര്‍, അവതാരകനുമായി സംസാരിക്കുന്നതിനിടയില്‍ മെഡിക്കല്‍ പഠനത്തിനായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന മൃതദേഹങ്ങളുടെ ജനനേന്ദ്രിയങ്ങളെയും അവയുടെ വലുപ്പത്തെയും കുറിച്ച് മോശം രീതിയില്‍ പരാമര്‍ശം നടത്തുകയും പരിഹസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.  

ഈ ഷോയുടെ വീഡിയോ ക്ലിപ്പ് സോഷ്യല്‍ മീഡിയയില്‍ വ്യാപകമായി പ്രചരിച്ചതോടെയാണ് സംഭവം വിവാദമായതും മെഡിക്കല്‍ രംഗത്തുനിന്നും പൊതുസമൂഹത്തില്‍ നിന്നും കടുത്ത പ്രതിഷേധം ഉയര്‍ന്നതും.

സംഭവം വിവാദമായതിനെത്തുടര്‍ന്ന് കെ.ഇ.എം ഹോസ്പിറ്റല്‍ ഡീന്‍ ഡോ. ഹരീഷ് എം. പഥക് ഉടനടി രണ്ടംഗ അന്വേഷണ സമിതിയെ (ഡോ. അനിത ചാലക്, ഡോ. ശ്രദ്ധ മോറെ എന്നിവരടങ്ങുന്ന സമിതി) നിയമിച്ചു.

സമിതി കോമഡി ഷോയുടെ മുഴുവന്‍ ദൃശ്യങ്ങളും പരിശോധിക്കുകയും വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിനിയുമായി സംസാരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത ശേഷം പ്രാഥമിക റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചു. വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിനിയുടെ ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നുണ്ടായ പരാമര്‍ശങ്ങള്‍ ഒരു മെഡിക്കല്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിക്ക് ചേരാത്തതും, അങ്ങേയറ്റം അശ്ലീലവും അനാദരവ് നിറഞ്ഞതുമാണെന്ന് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടില്‍ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണിക്കുന്നു. 

വിവാദം കനത്തതോടെ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിനി കെ.ഇ.എം ഹോസ്പിറ്റല്‍ അധികൃതര്‍ക്ക് രേഖാമൂലം മാപ്പപേക്ഷ നല്‍കുകയും സോഷ്യല്‍ മീഡിയയിലൂടെ ഖേദം പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിനിയുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കളെ ഹോസ്പിറ്റലിലേക്ക് വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തി കൗണ്‍സിലിംഗിന് വിധേയമാക്കി. 

മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര സൈബര്‍ പോലീസ് ഈ സംഭവത്തില്‍ സ്വമേധയാ കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. കോമഡി ഷോ അവതരിപ്പിച്ച പ്രണീത് മോറെ, വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിനി സെജല്‍ പവാര്‍, വെബ് ഡെവലപ്പര്‍ ഹിമാന്‍ഷു ജാംഗ്ര എന്നിവര്‍ക്കെതിരെ ഭാരതീയ ന്യായ സംഹിതയിലെ വിവിധ വകുപ്പുകളും ഐടി ആക്ടും പ്രകാരം അശ്ലീലത പ്രചരിപ്പിച്ചതിന് എഫ്.ഐ.ആര്‍ രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തു.  

മെഡിക്കല്‍ പഠനത്തിനായി സ്വന്തം ശരീരം വിട്ടുനല്‍കുന്ന ദാതാക്കളെയും മൃതദേഹങ്ങളെയും ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ വിനോദത്തിനായി പരിഹസിക്കുന്നത് മെഡിക്കല്‍ ധാര്‍മ്മികതയ്ക്ക് നിരക്കാത്തതാണെന്ന് ആള്‍ ഇന്ത്യ മെഡിക്കല്‍ സ്റ്റുഡന്റ്‌സ് അസോസിയേഷന്‍ കടുത്ത ഭാഷയില്‍ അപലപിച്ചു.

വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിനിയുടെ പരാമര്‍ശം തെറ്റാണെന്ന് വ്യക്തമാക്കിയ മെഡിക്കല്‍ അസോസിയേഷന്‍, എന്നാല്‍ ഇതിന്റെ പേരില്‍ ആ പെണ്‍കുട്ടിക്കെതിരെ സോഷ്യല്‍ മീഡിയയില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തിപരമായ അധിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും സൈബര്‍ ആക്രമണങ്ങളും അതിരുകടന്നതാണെന്നും ഓര്‍മ്മിപ്പിച്ചു.

മെഡിക്കല്‍ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം തന്നെ മൃതദേഹങ്ങളോടുള്ള ആദരവാണ്. വൈകാരികമായ പ്രതിബദ്ധതയോടെ ആളുകള്‍ ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന ശരീരങ്ങളെ തമാശയ്ക്കായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് വച്ചുപൊറുപ്പിക്കില്ലെന്ന് മുംബയ് മേയറും ഹോസ്പിറ്റല്‍ ഡീനും വ്യക്തമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. നാഷണല്‍ മെഡിക്കല്‍ കമ്മിഷന്റെ സോഷ്യല്‍ മീഡിയ മാര്‍ഗ്ഗനിര്‍ദ്ദേശങ്ങള്‍ ലംഘിച്ചതിനാലാണ് വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിനിക്കെതിരെ അച്ചടക്ക നടപടികളിലേക്ക് കോളേജ് നീങ്ങുന്നത്.

Summary:  Sejal Pawar, an MBBS student at Mumbai’s K.E.M. Hospital, has been sent on mandatory leave for 15 days following controversial remarks made during a stand-up comedy show. The student claimed that during autopsies, medical students often joked about the size of male cadavers' genitals.

Along with the suspension, strict conditions have been imposed, including a ban on her entry into the campus. Reports suggest that further disciplinary actions are likely to follow.

The controversy erupted during a show hosted by popular stand-up comedian Praneeth More. Sejal Pawar, who attended as an audience member, engaged in a conversation with the host where she made mocking and inappropriate comments regarding the anatomy of cadavers used for medical study.

The video clip of this interaction went viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage from both the medical community and the general public.

Following the backlash, Dr. Harish M. Pathak, the Dean of K.E.M. Hospital, appointed a two-member probe committee consisting of Dr. Anita Chalak and Dr. Shraddha More.

Investigation: The committee reviewed the full footage and interviewed the student.

Findings: The report stated that the student's remarks were "obscene, disrespectful, and unbecoming of a medical professional."

Apology: Amidst the growing controversy, the student submitted a written apology to the hospital authorities and expressed regret on social media. Her parents were also summoned for counseling.

Legal and Disciplinary Consequences

The Maharashtra Cyber Police have suo motu registered a case regarding the incident.

FIR Filed: An FIR has been registered against comedian Praneeth More, student Sejal Pawar, and web developer Himanshu Jangra under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the IT Act for spreading obscenity.

Medical Ethics: The All India Medical Students’ Association (AIMSA) strongly condemned the remarks, stating that mocking body donors is a grave violation of medical ethics.

Official Stance: The Mumbai Mayor and the Hospital Dean emphasized that cadaveric respect is the foundation of medical education and that such behavior will not be tolerated. The college is pursuing disciplinary action for violating the National Medical Commission’s (NMC) social media guidelines.

Note: While the Medical Association agreed that the student's comments were wrong, they also reminded the public that the targeted cyberbullying and personal attacks against the girl on social media are becoming excessive.
