സംഭവവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് അക്രമി ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ രണ്ടുപേരെ പോലീസ് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. നിലവില്‍ പ്രദേശത്ത് മറ്റ് സുരക്ഷാ ഭീഷണികള്‍ ഇല്ലെന്ന് അധികൃതര്‍ സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു.

സ്റ്റേഡ് നഗരത്തിന് തെക്കുള്ള ഡാങ്കേഴ്‌സ്ട്രാസെയിലെ യുവജന ക്ഷേമ കേന്ദ്രത്തിലാണ് വെടിവയ്പ്പുണ്ടായത്. ഗര്‍ഭിണികള്‍ക്കും ചെറിയ കുട്ടികളുള്ള യുവതികള്‍ക്കുമുള്ള താല്‍ക്കാലിക താമസസൗകര്യം കൂടി ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്നതാണ് ഈ കേന്ദ്രം. അവിടെയുണ്ടായിരുന്ന യുവതികളെയും കുട്ടികളെയും പോലീസ് സുരക്ഷിത സ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്ക് മാറ്റുന്ന ദൃശ്യങ്ങള്‍ പുറത്തുവന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്.

വെടിവയ്പ്പില്‍ അഞ്ച് പേര്‍ക്ക് ജീവന്‍ നഷ്ടമായി. ഏതാനും പേര്‍ക്ക് പരിക്കേറ്റിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും കൃത്യമായ എണ്ണം അധികൃതര്‍ പുറത്തുവിട്ടിട്ടില്ല. സംഭവസ്ഥലത്തെത്തിയ പോലീസ് രണ്ട് പേരെ കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തു. ഇതിലൊരാളാണ് വെടിയുതിര്‍ത്തതെന്നാണ് പ്രാഥമിക നിഗമനം. രണ്ടാമത്തെയാള്‍ക്ക് അക്രമത്തിലുള്ള പങ്കിനെക്കുറിച്ച് അന്വേഷണം നടക്കുകയാണ്.

വെടിവയ്പ്പിനെത്തുടര്‍ന്ന് സായുധ പോലീസും ആംബുലന്‍സുകളും ഹെലികോപ്റ്ററുകളും അടങ്ങുന്ന വന്‍ സുരക്ഷാ സന്നാഹം പ്രദേശം വളയുകയും ജനവാസ മേഖല പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായും നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

അക്രമത്തിന്റെ കാരണം, പശ്ചാത്തലം, ഇതിലേക്ക് നയിച്ച സാഹചര്യങ്ങള്‍ എന്നിവ കണ്ടെത്താനായി വിപുലമായ അന്വേഷണം ആരംഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. മരിച്ചവരുടെയോ പിടിയിലായവരുടെയോ പേരുവിവരങ്ങള്‍ പോലീസ് ഇതുവരെ ഔദ്യോഗികമായി പുറത്തുവിട്ടിട്ടില്ല.

യൂറോപ്പില്‍ തന്നെ ഏറ്റവും കര്‍ശനമായ ആയുധ നിയന്ത്രണ നിയമങ്ങളുള്ള രാജ്യങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് ജര്‍മ്മനി. അതിനാല്‍ ഇത്തരം കൂട്ടവെടിവയ്പ്പുകള്‍ അവിടെ വളരെ അപൂര്‍വമാണ്. ജര്‍മ്മനിയില്‍ 25 വയസ്സിന് താഴെയുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് തോക്ക് ലൈസന്‍സിനായി അപേക്ഷിക്കണമെങ്കില്‍ കര്‍ശനമായ മാനസികാരോഗ്യ പരിശോധനയ്ക്ക് വിധേയരാകേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.

Summary:  Five people have been killed in a shooting at a youth welfare center in Stade, a city located west of Hamburg in northern Germany. Several others have been seriously injured.

Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the incident, including the suspected gunman. Authorities have confirmed that there is currently no further security threat to the area.

The shooting took place at the youth welfare center on Dangerstraße, south of Stade. The facility includes temporary accommodation for pregnant women and young mothers with small children. Footage has emerged showing police escorting the women and children who were at the center to safety.

Five people lost their lives in the shooting. Although several others were injured, authorities have not yet released the exact number of casualties. Police arrived at the scene and took two suspects into custody. Preliminary investigations suggest that one of them was the shooter. The second individual's involvement in the attack is still being investigated.

Following the shooting, a massive security deployment—including armed police officers, ambulances, and helicopters—cordoned off the area and brought the entire residential zone under complete control.

A large-scale investigation has been launched to determine the motive, background, and circumstances leading up to the attack. The police have not yet officially released the identities of the deceased or those in custody.

Germany has some of the strictest gun control laws in Europe, making mass shootings of this nature very rare in the country. In Germany, anyone under the age of 25 applying for a firearm license must undergo rigorous psychological evaluations.
