കണ്ണൂര്‍ : സി.പി.എമ്മിന്റെ ഉറച്ച കോട്ടയായിരുന്ന തളിപ്പറമ്പില്‍ ഇത്തവണ നടന്നത് അവിശ്വസനീയമായ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പോരാട്ടമാണ്. സി.പി.എം സംസ്ഥാന സെക്രട്ടറി എം.വി. ഗോവിന്ദന്‍ ഒഴിഞ്ഞ സീറ്റില്‍, പാര്‍ട്ടി സ്ഥാനാര്‍ത്ഥിയായ ഭാര്യ പി.കെ. ശ്യാമളയെ പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് സ്വതന്ത്ര സ്ഥാനാര്‍ത്ഥിയായി മത്സരിച്ച ടി.കെ. ഗോവിന്ദന്‍ ചരിത്രവിജയം നേടി.

യുഡിഎഫ് പിന്തുണയോടെ മത്സരിച്ച ടി.കെ. ഗോവിന്ദന്‍ 12,425 വോട്ടുകള്‍ക്കാണ് വിജയിച്ചത്. ടികെ ഗോവിന്ദന് 90,610 വോട്ടുകള്‍ ലഭിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ എതിരാളി പി.കെ. ശ്യാമള 78,185 വോട്ടു നേടി.

60 വര്‍ഷത്തോളം പാര്‍ട്ടിയില്‍ ഉറച്ചുനിന്ന ടി.കെ. ഗോവിന്ദന്‍ മാസ്റ്റര്‍, സ്ഥാനാര്‍ത്ഥി നിര്‍ണ്ണയത്തിലെ വിയോജിപ്പിനെത്തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് പാര്‍ട്ടി വിട്ടത്. സി.പി.എം ജില്ലാ സെക്രട്ടേറിയറ്റ് അംഗമായിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹം സ്വതന്ത്രനായി മത്സരിക്കാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചത് പാര്‍ട്ടിക്കുള്ളിലെ ഒരു വിഭാഗം പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരുടെ പിന്തുണയോടെയായിരുന്നു.

ആന്തൂര്‍ നഗരസഭാ അധ്യക്ഷയായിരുന്ന പി.കെ. ശ്യാമളയ്ക്കെതിരെ ഉയര്‍ന്ന പഴയ വിവാദങ്ങളും (സാജന്‍ പാറയില്‍ കേസ് പോലുള്ളവ) ഈ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പില്‍ ചര്‍ച്ചയായി. ടി.കെ. ഗോവിന്ദന്‍ ഈ വിഷയങ്ങള്‍ ഉന്നയിച്ച് പ്രചാരണം നടത്തിയത് വോട്ടര്‍മാരെ സ്വാധീനിച്ചു.

സ്വന്തം സ്ഥാനാര്‍ത്ഥിയെ നിര്‍ത്താതെ ടി.കെ. ഗോവിന്ദനെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കാനുള്ള യു.ഡി.എഫ് തീരുമാനം വിജയത്തില്‍ നിര്‍ണ്ണായകമായി. കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ്, മുസ്ലീം ലീഗ് വോട്ടുകള്‍ ഏകീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടത് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഭൂരിപക്ഷം വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു.

തളിപ്പറമ്പ് മണ്ഡലത്തില്‍ വര്‍ഷങ്ങളായി സജീവമായിരുന്ന ഗോവിന്ദന്‍ മാസ്റ്റര്‍ക്ക് സാധാരണക്കാര്‍ക്കിടയിലുള്ള സ്വാധീനം വലിയ തോതില്‍ വോട്ടായി മാറി.

മറ്റ് സ്ഥാനാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍

എന്‍. ഹരിദാസ് (ബി.ജെ.പി): 15,982 വോട്ടുകള്‍ നേടി മൂന്നാം സ്ഥാനത്തെത്തി.

നോട്ട : 1,790 പേര്‍ നോട്ടയ്ക്ക് വോട്ട് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി.

പതിറ്റാണ്ടുകളായി ഇടതുപക്ഷം മാത്രം വിജയിച്ചുപോന്ന തളിപ്പറമ്പ് മണ്ഡലത്തില്‍ ഒരു വിമത സ്ഥാനാര്‍ത്ഥി വിജയിക്കുന്നത് ഇതാദ്യമായാണ്. ഈ വിജയം കണ്ണൂരിലെ സി.പി.എം രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തില്‍ വലിയ ചലനങ്ങള്‍ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുമെന്നുറപ്പാണ്.

Contesting with the support of the UDF, TK Govindan won by a margin of 12,425 votes. While TK Govindan secured 90,610 votes, his rival PK Shyamala managed to garner 78,185 votes.

Internal Rebellion: TK Govindan Master, who stood firm with the party for nearly 60 years and served as a CPI(M) District Secretariat member, left the party following disagreements over candidate selection. His decision to contest as an independent was backed by a section of party workers.

The Anthoor Controversy: Old controversies surrounding former Anthoor Municipality Chairperson PK Shyamala—specifically the Sajan Parayil suicide case—resurfaced during the campaign. TK Govindan’s focus on these issues significantly influenced the voters.

UDF Support: The UDF’s strategic decision not to field its own candidate and instead support TK Govindan proved decisive. The consolidation of Congress and Muslim League votes significantly boosted his winning margin.

Grassroots Influence: Govindan Master’s long-standing presence and personal rapport with the common people of Thaliparamba translated into a massive wave of support at the polls.
