Attack on ED Officials at Pinarayi's Residence Pre-planned, Says Central Intelligence; Attempt to Murder Case Registered Against Accused

തിരുവനന്തപുരം: സി.എം.ആര്‍.എല്‍ മാസപ്പടി കേസുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് മുന്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയും പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവുമായ പിണറായി വിജയന്റെ വസതിയില്‍ എന്‍ഫോഴ്സ്മെന്റ് ഡയറക്ടറേറ്റ് (ഇ.ഡി) റെയ്ഡ് നടത്തുന്നതിനിടെ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ക്ക് നേരെ ഉണ്ടായ അക്രമം ആസൂത്രിതമാണെന്നു കേന്ദ്ര ഇന്റലിജന്‌സ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. 

മാസപ്പടി കേസില്‍ പിണറായി വിജയന്റെ മകള്‍ വീണ വിജയന്റെ ബാങ്ക് അക്കൗണ്ട് ഇ.ഡി മരവിപ്പിച്ചതിന് പിന്നാലെയാണ് മുന്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തെ വസതി ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള 10 ഇടങ്ങളില്‍ ഇ.ഡി റെയ്ഡ് ആരംഭിച്ചത്.

ഈ സമയത്ത് പിണറായി വിജയനും മകള്‍ വീണയും തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തെ വസതിയിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. റെയ്ഡ് വിവരമറിഞ്ഞ് സ്ഥലത്ത് തടിച്ചുകൂടിയ സി.പി.എം - ഡി.വൈ.എഫ്.ഐ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ ഇ.ഡി ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ക്കെതിരെ ശക്തമായ പ്രതിഷേധം ഉയര്‍ത്തുകയും തുടര്‍ന്ന് ഇത് അക്രമത്തില്‍ കലാശിക്കുകയുമായിരുന്നു. ഇ.ഡി ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ സഞ്ചരിച്ച മൂന്ന് വാഹനങ്ങളുടെ ചില്ലുകള്‍ പ്രതിഷേധക്കാര്‍ അടിച്ചുതകര്‍ത്തു.

കേന്ദ്ര ഏജന്‍സിയുടെ റെയ്ഡിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് തലസ്ഥാനത്ത് ക്രമസമാധാന പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങളോ വലിയ പ്രതിഷേധങ്ങളോ ഉണ്ടാകാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്ന മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് സംസ്ഥാന ഇന്റലിജന്‍സ് വിഭാഗം മുന്‍കൂട്ടി നല്‍കിയിരുന്നു.

എന്നാല്‍, ഇന്റലിജന്‍സ് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നിട്ടും ഇ.ഡി റെയ്ഡ് നടക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് സംഭവസ്ഥലത്ത് ആവശ്യത്തിന് സുരക്ഷയൊരുക്കുന്നതില്‍ ലോക്കല്‍ പൊലീസിന് ഗുരുതരമായ വീഴ്ച സംഭവിച്ചു എന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നത്.

ആക്രമണം നടക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് വളരെ കുറച്ച് പൊലീസുകാര്‍ മാത്രമാണ് സംഭവസ്ഥലത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. ഇത് അക്രമികള്‍ക്ക് ഇ.ഡി വാഹനങ്ങള്‍ തകര്‍ക്കാനും ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെ കൈയേറ്റം ചെയ്യാനും സാഹചര്യം ഒരുക്കി. 

അക്രമത്തിന് ശേഷം പ്രതികളായ ഡി.വൈ.എഫ്.ഐ - സി.പി.എം പ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ സി.പി.എം പാളയം ഏരിയ കമ്മിറ്റി ഓഫീസില്‍ അഭയം പ്രാപിച്ചു. പ്രതികളെ പിടികൂടാന്‍ പൊലീസ് പാളയം പാര്‍ട്ടി ഓഫീസിലേക്ക് എത്തിയെങ്കിലും മുതിര്‍ന്ന സി.പി.എം നേതാക്കള്‍ പൊലീസിനെ തടഞ്ഞു. പാര്‍ട്ടി ഓഫീസിനുള്ളില്‍ കയറി പരിശോധന നടത്താന്‍ അനുവദിക്കില്ലെന്ന് നേതാക്കള്‍ നിലപാടെടുത്തു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് എ.ഡി.ജി.പി എച്ച്. വെങ്കിടേഷിന്റെയും സിറ്റി പൊലീസ് കമ്മിഷണര്‍ കെ. കാര്‍ത്തിക്കിന്റെയും നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ പൊലീസും പാര്‍ട്ടി നേതാക്കളും തമ്മില്‍ ചര്‍ച്ചകള്‍ നടന്നു.

ഒടുവില്‍ നാടകീയ നീക്കങ്ങള്‍ക്കൊടുവില്‍ പാര്‍ട്ടി ഓഫീസ് ഒത്തുതീര്‍പ്പിന് വഴങ്ങി. ഒളിവിലായിരുന്ന ആറ് പ്രതികളെ സി.പി.എം നേതൃത്വം നേരിട്ട് മ്യൂസിയം പൊലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷനില്‍ ഹാജരാക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

ഇ.ഡി ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെ വധിക്കാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചതിന് (വധശ്രമം ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള വകുപ്പുകള്‍ ചുമത്തി) കണ്ടാലറിയാവുന്ന 300 പേര്‍ക്കെതിരെയും പൊലീസ് കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ഡി.വൈ.എഫ്.ഐ നേമം ഏരിയാ സെക്രട്ടറി ശ്രീജിത്ത് ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള ഏഴ് പ്രതികളെ പൊലീസ് ഇതിനോടകം അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. മുന്‍ കൗണ്‍സിലര്‍ ആറ്റുകാല്‍ ഉണ്ണി, പാളയം സന്തോഷ്, ആദര്‍ശ്, മനോജ്, ജീവന്‍, നിതിന്‍ രാജ് തുടങ്ങിയവരും പ്രതിപ്പട്ടികയിലുണ്ട്.

ഈ അക്രമസംഭവത്തെ ബി.ജെ.പി സംസ്ഥാന നേതൃത്വം ശക്തമായി അപലപിക്കുകയും കേരളത്തിലെ നിയമവാഴ്ച തകര്‍ന്നതിന്റെ തെളിവാണ് ഇതെന്നും ആരോപിച്ചു.

Summary: A Central Intelligence report has revealed that the attack on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials during their raid at the residence of former Chief Minister and current Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan, in connection with the CMRL monthly payoff case, was pre-planned.

The ED initiated raids at 10 locations, including the former Chief Minister’s residence in Thiruvananthapuram, shortly after freezing the bank account of Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter, Veena Vijayan, in connection with the payoff case.

Both Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter Veena were present at the Thiruvananthapuram residence when the raid took place. Upon hearing news of the raid, CPM and DYFI workers gathered at the spot and launched a fierce protest against the ED officials, which eventually escalated into violence. The protesters smashed the windshields of three vehicles used by the ED officials.

The State Intelligence wing had previously issued an advance warning that the central agency's raid could trigger law and order issues or massive protests in the capital city.

However, reports indicate that despite the intelligence warning, the local police failed gravely in deploying adequate security at the site while the ED raid was underway.

Only a very few police personnel were present at the scene when the attack occurred. This situation provided the attackers an opportunity to vandalize the ED vehicles and assault the officials.

Following the violence, the accused DYFI and CPM workers took refuge at the CPM Palayam Area Committee office. Although the police reached the Palayam party office to apprehend the accused, senior CPM leaders blocked them. The leaders took a firm stand that the police would not be allowed inside the party office to conduct a search. Following this, discussions were held between the police and party leaders under the leadership of ADGP H. Venkatesh and City Police Commissioner K. Karthik.

Ultimately, after dramatic developments, the party office yielded to a compromise. The CPM leadership directly produced six of the absconding accused at the Museum Police Station.

The police have registered a case against 300 identifiable individuals, invoking charges including attempt to murder, for trying to kill the ED officials.

The police have already arrested seven accused, including DYFI Nemom Area Secretary Sreejith. Former councilor Attukal Unni, Palayam Santhosh, Adarsh, Manoj, Jeevan, and Nithin Raj are also among those named in the list of accused.

The BJP state leadership strongly condemned the violent incident, alleging that it stands as clear evidence of the total collapse of the law and order situation in Kerala.
