ചെന്നൈ: തമിഴ് നടി വിഷ്ണുപ്രിയയുടെ അച്ഛന്‍ സൂര്യനാരായണനെ (73) കൊടൈക്കനാലിലെ ബംഗ്ലാവിലെ സ്വിമ്മിങ് പൂളിന് സമീപം കസേരയില്‍ കെട്ടിയിട്ട നിലയില്‍ കണ്ടെത്തി. ശരീരം മുഴുവന്‍ ടേപ്പ് ഉപയോഗിച്ച് വരിഞ്ഞുമുറുക്കിയിരുന്നു.

വായയും മൂക്കും ടേപ്പ് ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ഒട്ടിച്ച് ശ്വാസം മുട്ടിച്ചാണ് കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയതെന്നാണ് പ്രാഥമിക നിഗമനം. ബംഗ്ലാവില്‍ താമസിക്കാനെത്തിയ അഞ്ച് വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികളെയാണ് പോലീസ് പ്രധാനമായും സംശയിക്കുന്നത്. വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്ക് താമസസൗകര്യം നല്‍കുന്ന ഇടമാണിത്. സംഭവത്തിന് ശേഷം കാണാതായ ഇവര്‍ക്കായി പോലീസ് അന്വേഷണം ഊര്‍ജിതമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ബംഗ്ലാവില്‍ നിന്ന് സ്വര്‍ണ്ണാഭരണങ്ങളും പണവും സിസിടിവി ഡിസ്‌കുകളും മോഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. മോഷണശ്രമത്തിനിടെയാണ് കൊലപാതകം നടന്നതെന്നാണ് സംശയം.

2005-ല്‍ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ സൂര്യയും ജ്യോതികയും നായകനും നായികയുമായ 'മായാവി' എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലൂടെ ശ്രദ്ധേയയായ നടിയാണ് വിഷ്ണുപ്രിയ. പ്രതികളെ പിടികൂടാനായി തമിഴ്നാട് പോലീസ് അന്വേഷണം വ്യാപിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്.

ഇതേസമയം, പ്രതികാരക്കൊലയാണോ എന്ന കാര്യം പരിശോധിക്കുമെന്നും പൊലീസ് അറിയിച്ചു. 2018ല്‍ വിഷ്ണുപ്രിയയുടെ കാമുകന്‍ പ്രഭാകരന്‍ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട സംഭവത്തില്‍ സൂര്യനാരായണന്‍ അറസ്റ്റിലായിരുന്നു. പ്രഭാകരന്റെ കൊലപാതകത്തിനു പ്രതികാരമാണോ നടന്നത് എന്നതും പരിശോധിക്കുമെന്ന് ജില്ലാ പൊലീസ് മേധാവി പറഞ്ഞു. 

കുറിഞ്ചി ആണ്ടവര്‍ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് സമീപമുള്ള ബംഗ്ലാവില്‍ സൂര്യനാരായണന്‍ തനിച്ചായിരുന്നു താമസം. തന്റെ ബംഗ്ലാവ് വിനോദ സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്ക് അദ്ദേഹം താമസത്തിനായി നല്‍കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

ബംഗ്ലാവിലെ ജീവനക്കാരായ അറുമുഖം, മുരളി എന്നിവരെ കയര്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കെട്ടിയിട്ട ശേഷമായിരുന്നു കൊലപാതകമെന്നാണ് സൂചന. ഇരുവരെയും പൊലീസ് ചോദ്യം ചെയ്തു. 

Summary: Suryanarayanan (73), father of Tamil actress Vishnu Priya, was found dead near the swimming pool of his bungalow in Kodaikanal. He was discovered tied to a chair with his entire body tightly wrapped in adhesive tape.

The preliminary investigation suggests that he was murdered by suffocation, as tape was used to cover his mouth and nose. Police are primarily focusing their suspicion on five tourists who had recently arrived to stay at the bungalow, which is a facility often rented out to travelers. The police have intensified their search for these individuals, who have been missing since the incident.

Gold ornaments, cash, and CCTV storage disks (DVRs) were reported stolen from the bungalow, leading to an initial suspicion that the murder occurred during a robbery attempt.

Vishnu Priya gained prominence for her role in the 2005 film Maayavi, starring Suriya and Jyothika. The Tamil Nadu police have expanded their investigation to apprehend the suspects.

Investigation into Revenge Motive

Simultaneously, the police stated they are examining whether this was a revenge killing. In 2018, Suryanarayanan had been arrested in connection with the murder of Vishnu Priya’s boyfriend, Prabhakaran. The District Police Chief mentioned that they are investigating if this act was retaliation for Prabhakaran's death.

Suryanarayanan lived alone in the bungalow located near the Kurinji Andavar Temple and used the property as a homestay for tourists.

Indications suggest that the murder took place after the bungalow staff, Arumugam and Murali, were tied up with ropes. The police have already questioned both employees as part of the ongoing probe.
