തിരുവനന്തപുരം: അസംഘടിതരായ ഭൂരിപക്ഷത്തിന് മേല്‍ സംഘടിത ന്യൂനപക്ഷം നടത്തുന്ന അതിക്രമമായി ഇന്നത്തെ 'ഭാരത് ബന്ദ്' മാറിയെന്നും ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള അതിക്രമത്തിന് മുന്നില്‍ കേരളം മാത്രം ഇപ്പോഴും ബന്ദിയാക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുകയാണെന്നും ശശി തരൂര്‍ എംപി.

തീവ്ര യൂണിയന്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം വഴി വ്യവസായങ്ങളെ ഓടിച്ചുവിട്ടുവെന്നും ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഫാക്ടറികള്‍ക്കുള്ളില്‍ നിന്ന് തെരുവുകളിലേക്കും വീടുകളിലേക്കും വ്യാപിച്ച തീവ്ര യൂണിയന്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം മൂലം കേരളത്തിന്റെ സല്‍പ്പേരിന് ഇതിനകം തന്നെ മങ്ങലേറ്റു കഴിഞ്ഞുവെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറയുന്നു.

പ്രതിഷേധിക്കാനുള്ള അവകാശത്തെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കുന്നുവെന്നും എന്നാല്‍ മറ്റൊരാളുടെ സ്വതന്ത്രമായ സഞ്ചാരത്തെ തടയാന്‍ ഒരു ഇന്ത്യക്കാരനും ഭരണഘടനാപരമായ അവകാശമില്ലെന്നും തരൂര്‍ ഫേസ് ബുക്ക് പോസ്റ്റില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. സോഷ്യല്‍ മീഡിയയില്‍ വലിയ ചര്‍ച്ചയ്ക്കാണ് തരൂരിന്റെ വാക്കുകള്‍ തുടക്കമിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്.

തരൂരിന്റെ പോസ്റ്റിന്റെ പൂര്‍ണ രൂപം:

ഇന്നത്തെ 'ഭാരത് ബന്ദ്' യഥാര്‍ത്ഥത്തില്‍ മറ്റൊരു 'കേരള ബന്ദ്' മാത്രമായി ഒതുങ്ങി എന്നത് ഖേദകരമായ ഒരു വൈരുദ്ധ്യമാണ്. ഇന്ത്യയുടെ മറ്റു ഭാഗങ്ങള്‍ ഇത്തരം നിര്‍ബന്ധിത തടസ്സപ്പെടുത്തലുകള്‍ക്ക് അപ്പുറത്തേക്ക് വളര്‍ന്നപ്പോള്‍, അസംഘടിതരായ ഭൂരിപക്ഷത്തിന് മേല്‍ സംഘടിത ന്യൂനപക്ഷം നടത്തുന്ന ഈ അതിക്രമത്തിന് മുന്നില്‍ കേരളം മാത്രം ഇപ്പോഴും ബന്ദിയാക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്.

രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തില്‍ പ്രവേശിച്ചതു മുതല്‍ എന്റെ നിലപാട് വ്യക്തമാണ്: പ്രതിഷേധിക്കാനുള്ള അവകാശത്തെ ഞാന്‍ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കുന്നു, എന്നാല്‍, തടസ്സപ്പെടുത്താനുള്ള അവകാശത്തെയല്ല. മറ്റൊരാളുടെ സ്വതന്ത്രമായ സഞ്ചാരത്തെ തടയാന്‍ ഒരു ഇന്ത്യക്കാരനും ഭരണഘടനാപരമായ അവകാശമില്ല.

നമ്മുടെ തീവ്രമായ യൂണിയന്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ മൂലം വ്യവസായങ്ങളെ നാം ഇവിടുന്ന ഓടിച്ചുവിട്ടു; ഇപ്പോള്‍, പൗരന്മാരെ സ്വന്തം വീടുകളില്‍ തടവുകാരാക്കുകയും കടയുടമകളെ ഷട്ടറുകള്‍ താഴ്ത്താന്‍ നിര്‍ബന്ധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഇത്തരം പഴഞ്ചന്‍ 'കായികബല' രീതികളില്‍ കടിച്ചുതൂങ്ങുന്നതിലൂടെ, യുവാക്കള്‍ക്കും സംരംഭകര്‍ക്കും നമ്മുടെ സംസ്ഥാനം ഒട്ടും അനുയോജ്യമല്ലെന്ന് നാം ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തുകയാണ്. സ്വയം നശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഈ ശീലം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ സമയമായിരിക്കുന്നു. ക്രിയാത്മകമായ വിയോജിപ്പുകള്‍ കൊണ്ട് നമുക്ക് ഇതിനെ മാറ്റിസ്ഥാപിക്കാവുന്നതേയുള്ളൂ.

എന്റെ സ്വന്തം പാര്‍ട്ടി ഉള്‍പ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ പോലും, പണിമുടക്കാനുള്ള അവകാശത്തില്‍ മറ്റുള്ളവരെക്കൊണ്ട് നിര്‍ബന്ധിതമായി പണിമുടക്കിക്കാനുള്ള അവകാശം ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്നില്ലെന്ന് ഞാന്‍ കാലങ്ങളായി വാദിക്കുന്നതാണ്. ദൈനംദിന ജീവിതവും വ്യാപാരവും ഗതാഗതവും തടസ്സപ്പെടുത്തി ഒരു സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ സ്തംഭിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് സാധാരണക്കാരന്റെ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന് മേലുള്ള കടന്നുകയറ്റമാണ്.

ഫാക്ടറികള്‍ക്കുള്ളില്‍ നിന്ന് നമ്മുടെ തെരുവുകളിലേക്കും വീടുകളിലേക്കും വ്യാപിച്ച തീവ്ര യൂണിയന്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം മൂലം കേരളത്തിന്റെ സല്‍പ്പേരിന് ഇതിനകം തന്നെ മങ്ങലേറ്റു കഴിഞ്ഞു. ലോകവും ഇന്ത്യയുടെ മറ്റു ഭാഗങ്ങളും തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞ കാലഹരണപ്പെട്ട സമരരീതികള്‍ പിന്തുടര്‍ന്നുകൊണ്ട്, ആധുനികവും നിക്ഷേപക സൗഹൃദവുമായ ഒരു ലക്ഷ്യസ്ഥാനമായി മാറാന്‍ നമുക്ക് കഴിയില്ല.

വിയോജിക്കാനുള്ള അവകാശത്തെ നമുക്ക് മാനിക്കാം, എന്നാല്‍ അതോടൊപ്പം നമ്മളോട് വിയോജിപ്പ് പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ അവകാശത്തെയും, ജോലി ചെയ്യാനും സഞ്ചരിക്കാനുമുള്ള സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തെയും നമുക്ക് ശക്തമായി സംരക്ഷിക്കാം. പ്രതിഷേധം എന്നത് ഒരു ധാര്‍മ്മിക പ്രഖ്യാപനമായിരിക്കണം, അല്ലാതെ കായികമായ ഒരു ഉപരോധമാകരുത്.

SUMMARY: Thiruvananthapuram: Shashi Tharoor MP stated that today’s 'Bharat Bandh' has turned into an act of aggression by an organized minority against an unorganized majority, and it is unfortunate that Kerala alone remains a hostage to such violence.

He remarked that extreme trade unionism has already driven industries away, and the reputation of Kerala has been tarnished by these radical activities that have moved from within factories to the streets and homes of citizens.

In a Facebook post that has sparked a major debate on social media, Tharoor said that while he supports the right to protest, no Indian has a constitutional right to obstruct the free movement of another person.

"It is a regrettable irony that today’s 'Bharat Bandh' has effectively been reduced to just a 'Kerala Bandh.' While other parts of India have outgrown such forced disruptions, Kerala remains the only state held hostage by this aggression of an organized minority over the unorganized majority.

My stand has been clear since I entered politics: I support the right to protest, but not the right to obstruct. No Indian has a constitutional right to prevent the free movement of another citizen.

Through our extreme union activities, we have driven industries away from here; now, by clinging to these outdated 'muscle-power' tactics—forcing shopkeepers to pull down shutters and making citizens prisoners in their own homes—we are ensuring that our state remains unattractive to youth and entrepreneurs. It is time to abandon this self-destructive habit. We can replace this with constructive forms of dissent.

Even when my own party is involved, I have long argued that the right to strike does not include the right to force others to strike. Paralyzing a state by disrupting daily life, trade, and transport is an encroachment on the freedom of the common man.

Kerala’s reputation has already suffered due to extreme unionism spreading from inside factories to our streets and homes. By following obsolete protest methods discarded by the rest of the world and the rest of India, we cannot become a modern, investor-friendly destination.

Let us respect the right to disagree, but let us also strongly protect the right of others to disagree with us, as well as their freedom to work and travel. Protest should be a moral declaration, not a physical blockade."
