തിരുവനന്തപുരം: വഴുതക്കാട് ട്രിവാന്‍ഡ്രം ക്ലബ്ബിന് മുന്നില്‍ വച്ച് യുവാക്കളെ ഇടിച്ചു തെറിപ്പിച്ച ശേഷം കാര്‍ നിറുത്താതെ പോയ നടന്‍ മണിയന്‍പിള്ള രാജുവിനെ പൊലീസ് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്ത ശേഷം വിട്ടയച്ചു. അപകടത്തില്‍ ബൈക്ക് യാത്രക്കാരായ നിവേദ് കൃഷ്ണ (20), സൂരജ് (20) എന്നീ യുവാക്കള്‍ക്കു പരിക്കേറ്റിരുന്നു.

ഇവരെ തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. ഒരാളുടെ നില ഗുരുതരമാണെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍. അപകടത്തിന് ശേഷം രാജു കാര്‍ നിര്‍ത്താതെ പോവുകയും ഫോണ്‍ സ്വിച്ച് ഓഫ് ചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്തു. മണിയന്‍പിള്ള രാജു തന്നെയാണ് കാര്‍ ഓടിച്ചിരുന്നതെന്ന് പിന്നീട് സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു.

ഭയം മൂലമാണ് താന്‍ വാഹനം നിര്‍ത്താതെ പോയതെന്ന് താരം പിന്നീട് മാധ്യമങ്ങളോട് പ്രതികരിച്ചു. എതിര്‍ദിശയില്‍ അതിവേഗത്തില്‍ വന്ന ബൈക്ക് കാറില്‍ ഇടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.

അപകടവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് മ്യൂസിയം പോലീസ് കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തു. മണിയന്‍പിള്ള രാജുവിന്റെ അറസ്റ്റ് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തുകയും പിന്നീട് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ജാമ്യം അനുവദിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

നിവേദിതിന്റെ കാലിന് ഒടിവുണ്ട്, സൂരജിന് നട്ടെല്ലിനും കാലിനും പരുക്കേറ്റിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇരുവരും നഗരത്തിലെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ ചികിത്സയിലാണ്.

വ്യാഴാഴ്ച രാത്രി പത്തു മണിയോടെ വഴുതക്കാട് ട്രിവാന്‍ഡ്രം ക്ലബിന് മുന്നിലായിരുന്നു അപകടം. ക്ലബില്‍ നിന്ന് പുറത്തേക്ക് വരികയായിരുന്ന മണിയന്‍പിള്ള രാജുവിന്റെ കാര്‍ ബൈക്കില്‍ ഇടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. അപകടത്തിന് ശേഷം കാര്‍ നിര്‍ത്താതെ പോയതായി പോലീസ് എഫ്.ഐ.ആറില്‍ പറയുന്നു.

ജീവഹാനി വരാവുന്ന രീതിയില്‍ അശ്രദ്ധമായി വാഹനം ഓടിച്ചു, അപകടത്തിന് ശേഷം വാഹനം നിര്‍ത്താതെ പോയി, പരുക്കേറ്റവര്‍ക്ക് പ്രഥമശുശ്രൂഷ നല്‍കാനോ പോലീസിനെ അറിയിക്കാനോ തയ്യാറായില്ല തുടങ്ങിയ കുറ്റങ്ങളാണ് താരത്തിനെതിരെ ചുമത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. 

ഇന്നു രാവിലെ മ്യൂസിയം പോലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷനില്‍ ഹാജരായ താരം തന്റെ ഭാഗം വിശദീകരിച്ചു. അമിതവേഗത്തില്‍ വന്ന ബൈക്ക് തന്റെ കാറില്‍ വന്നിടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്നും ബൈക്ക് യാത്രക്കാരാണ് തന്റെ വണ്ടിയില്‍ ഇടിച്ചതെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.

അപകടം നടന്നപ്പോള്‍ താന്‍ ഭയന്നുപോയെന്നും വീട്ടില്‍ ഭാര്യ തനിച്ചായിരുന്നതിനാലാണ് വാഹനം നിര്‍ത്താതെ പോയതെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ഇന്നലെ രാത്രി തന്നെ രാജുവിനെ തേടി പൊലീസ് വീട്ടില്‍ ചെന്നിരുന്നു. രാജു വീട്ടിലില്ലെന്ന മറുപടിയാണ് വീട്ടുകാര്‍ നല്കിയത്.

താന്‍ ചിക്കുന്‍ഗുനിയ ബാധിതനാണെന്നും ശാരീരിക ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെന്നും, എങ്കിലും പരുക്കേറ്റവരെ സഹായിക്കാന്‍ മറ്റുള്ളവരെ താന്‍ ഫോണില്‍ വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നുവെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം മൊഴി നല്‍കി.

അപകടസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്ന് കാറിന്റെ നമ്പര്‍ പ്ലേറ്റും ലോഗോയും പോലീസിന് ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു. സുധീര്‍ കുമാര്‍ രാജു എന്ന തന്റെ ഔദ്യോഗിക പേരിലാണ് വാഹനം രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളതെന്നും താന്‍ തന്നെയാണ് വാഹനം ഓടിച്ചതെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം സമ്മതിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. സിസിടിവി ദൃശ്യങ്ങള്‍ പരിശോധിച്ചാല്‍ സത്യം വ്യക്തമാകുമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു.

ഇതിനിടെ, രാജു ട്രിവാന്‍ഡ്രം ക്‌ളബില്‍ നിന്നു മദ്യപിച്ചിരിക്കാമെന്നും രക്തത്തില്‍ നിന്നു മദ്യത്തിന്റെ അംശം പോകുന്നതിനുള്ള വിന്‍ഡോ പീരേഡ് കിട്ടുന്നതിനാണ് രാവിലെ വരെ ഫോണ്‍ സ്വച്ച് ഓഫാക്കി ഒളിച്ചു കളിച്ചതെന്ന തരത്തിലും ചില മാധ്യമങ്ങളില്‍ വാര്‍ത്ത വരുന്നുണ്ട്. കാന്‍സറിനെ അതിജീവിച്ച താന്‍ മദ്യപിച്ചിരുന്നില്ലെന്നാണ് രാജു പറയുന്നത്.

The police FIR states that the car failed to stop after the accident. The actor has been charged with reckless driving in a manner endangering life, failing to stop after an accident, and failing to provide first aid to the injured or inform the police.

Appearing at the Museum Police Station this morning, the actor explained his side of the story. He stated that the speeding bike crashed into his car and that the motorcyclists were at fault. He clarified that he panicked at the moment of the accident and drove away because his wife was alone at home. Although police visited his residence last night, family members informed them he was not there.

In his statement, Raju claimed he is suffering from Chikungunya and was experiencing physical discomfort. However, he maintained that he had called others over the phone to help the injured. The police recovered the car’s number plate and logo from the accident site. Raju admitted he was driving the vehicle, which is registered under his official name, Sudhir Kumar Raju. He added that the truth would be revealed once the CCTV footage is examined.

Meanwhile, some media reports suggested that Raju might have been drinking at the Trivandrum Club and kept his phone switched off until morning to allow the "window period" for alcohol to leave his bloodstream. However, Raju refuted these claims, stating that as a cancer survivor, he does not consume alcohol.
