ചെന്നൈ: വിജയ് നായകനായി എച്ച്. വിനോദ് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'ജനനായകന്' എന്ന സിനിമയുടെ സെന്സര് സര്ട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട കേസില് മദ്രാസ് ഹൈക്കോടതി ജനുവരി 9-ന് (റിലീസ് തീയതിയില്) വിധി പറയുമെന്ന് അറിയിച്ചു. ജനുവരി 9-ന് ചിത്രം തിയേറ്ററുകളില് എത്തുമെന്ന് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കിലും, നിലവിലെ സാഹചര്യത്തില് റിലീസ് നീണ്ടുപോകുമെന്ന് ഉറപ്പായി.
ജസ്റ്റിസ് പി.ടി. ആശയുടെ ബെഞ്ചാണ് കേസ് പരിഗണിച്ചത്. ഇംഗ്ലണ്ട്, ഫ്രാന്സ്, ജര്മ്മനി, ഇറ്റലി, റഷ്യ, സ്പെയിന് തുടങ്ങി 39-ലധികം രാജ്യങ്ങളില് ജനുവരി 9-ന് ചിത്രം റിലീസ് ചെയ്യില്ലെന്ന് വിതരണക്കാര് ഔദ്യോഗികമായി അറിയിച്ചു.

നടന് വിജയ്യുടെ അവസാന ചിത്രമെന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്ന 'ജനനായകന്' മതവികാരം വ്രണപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു എന്ന പരാതിയെത്തുടര്ന്നുള്ള നിയമതടസ്സങ്ങളാണ് റിലീസ് വൈകാന് കാരണം.
മലേഷ്യയിലെ വിതരണക്കാരായ 'മാലിക് സ്ട്രീംസ് കോര്പ്പറേഷന്' ആണ് റിലീസ് മാറ്റിവെച്ച വിവരം ഔദ്യോഗികമായി ആദ്യം അറിയിച്ചത്. നിര്മ്മാണ ടീമില് നിന്നുള്ള കൂടുതല് വിവരങ്ങള്ക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കുകയാണെന്നും പുതിയ തീയതി പിന്നീട് അറിയിക്കുമെന്നും അവര് വ്യക്തമാക്കി. തെറ്റായ വിവരങ്ങള് പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കരുതെന്നും ക്ഷമയോടെ കാത്തിരിക്കണമെന്നും വിതരണക്കാര് ആരാധകരോട് അഭ്യര്ത്ഥിച്ചു.
സെന്സര് ബോര്ഡിന്റെ പരിശോധനാ സമിതിയിലെ അഞ്ച് അംഗങ്ങളില് നാലുപേര് സിനിമയ്ക്ക് യു/എ 16+' സര്ട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റ് നല്കാന് ശുപാര്ശ ചെയ്തെങ്കിലും ഒരു അംഗം വിയോജിപ്പ് പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇതേത്തുടര്ന്ന് സിനിമ പുനഃപരിശോധനാ സമിതിക്ക് വിടാന് ബോര്ഡ് ചെയര്മാന് തീരുമാനിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
സമിതി നിര്ദ്ദേശിച്ച 27 മാറ്റങ്ങളും തങ്ങള് വരുത്തിയെന്നും ഭൂരിഭാഗം അംഗങ്ങളുടെ അഭിപ്രായം പരിഗണിക്കാതെ പുനഃപരിശോധനാ സമിതിക്ക് വിടുന്നത് ശരിയല്ലെന്നുമാണ് നിര്മ്മാണ കമ്പനിയുടെ വാദം.
500 കോടി രൂപയുടെ മുതല്മുടക്കുള്ള സിനിമയാണിതെന്നും റിലീസ് വൈകുന്നത് വലിയ നഷ്ടമുണ്ടാക്കുമെന്നും സീനിയര് കൗണ്സില് കോടതിയില് ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.

Malik Streams Corporation, the distributor in Malaysia, was the first to officially announce the postponement. They stated that they are waiting for further information from the production team and will announce the new date later. The distributors also urged fans to remain patient and avoid spreading misinformation.
While four out of five members of the Censor Board's Examining Committee recommended a 'U/A 16+' certificate for the film, one member expressed dissent. Following this, the Board Chairman decided to refer the film to a Revising Committee.
The production company argues that they have already implemented all 27 changes suggested by the committee and that referring the film to a Revising Committee, ignoring the majority opinion, is unjust. Senior counsel informed the court that the film was made on a budget of ?500 crore and that any delay in release would cause significant financial loss.
