തിരുവനന്തപുരം : ജനുവരി 23-ന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോഡി പങ്കെടുക്കുന്ന റെയില്‍വേ പരിപാടികള്‍ക്ക് തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തെ സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ സ്റ്റേഡിയം വിട്ടുനല്‍കാന്‍ കേരള സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ വിസമ്മതിച്ചു. 

ജനുവരി 26-ന് റിപ്പബ്ലിക് ദിന പരേഡിനുള്ള തയ്യാറെടുപ്പുകള്‍ സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തില്‍ നടക്കുന്നതിനാല്‍ വേദി വിട്ടുനല്‍കാന്‍ കഴിയില്ലെന്നാണ് സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ നിലപാട്.

കോര്‍പ്പറേഷന്‍ വികസന രേഖ പ്രകാശനവും റെയില്‍വേയുടെ വിവിധ പദ്ധതികളുടെ ഉദ്ഘാടനവും നിര്‍വഹിക്കാനാണ് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നഗരത്തിലെത്തുന്നത്.

സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ സ്റ്റേഡിയം ലഭിക്കാത്ത സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍ റെയില്‍വേയും ബിജെപിയും മറ്റ് വേദികള്‍ക്കായി ശ്രമിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. കാര്യവട്ടം ഗ്രീന്‍ഫീല്‍ഡ് സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തില്‍ ക്രിക്കറ്റ് മത്സരങ്ങള്‍ നടക്കുന്നതിനാല്‍ അവിടെയും വേദി ലഭ്യമല്ല. അതിനാല്‍ പരിപാടി പുത്തരിക്കണ്ടം മൈതാനത്തേക്ക് മാറ്റാനാണ് നിലവിലെ നീക്കം.

റിപ്പബ്ലിക് ദിനത്തിന് രണ്ട് ദിവസം മുന്‍പ് പരിപാടി നടത്തുന്നതിന് സ്റ്റേഡിയം അനുവദിക്കാത്തത് മനഃപൂര്‍വമാണെന്ന് ആക്ഷേപം ഉയരുന്നുണ്ട്. മുന്‍പ് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയുടെ പരിപാടികള്‍ക്ക് സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ സ്റ്റേഡിയം ഉപയോഗിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതിനാല്‍ സുരക്ഷാ പരിശോധനകള്‍ അവിടെ എളുപ്പമാകുമെന്നതിനാലാണ് റെയില്‍വേ ഈ വേദി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടത്.

ഇതിനു പിന്നില്‍ രാഷ്ട്രീയുമുണ്ടെന്നാണ് ബിജെപി നേതൃത്വം പറയുന്നത്. തിരുവനന്തപുരം കോര്‍പ്പറേഷന്‍ ബിജെപി പിടിച്ചതിനു പിന്നാലെയാണ് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി എത്തുന്നത്. വരുന്ന നിയമസഭാ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിനു തൊട്ടു മുന്‍പ് കേരളത്തിന് മൂന്ന് അമൃത് ഭാരത് ട്രെയിനുകളും ഒരു പാസഞ്ചര്‍ ട്രെയിനും അനുവദിച്ചതിനു പിന്നാലെയാണ് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയുടെ വരവ്.

വികസനം ചര്‍ച്ചയാക്കി ബിജെപി വോട്ടു പിടിക്കുമെന്ന ഭയം സിപിഎം നേതൃത്വത്തിനുണ്ടെന്നും അതിനാലാണ് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിക്കു റെയില്‍വേയുടെ ചടങ്ങില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കാന്‍ വേദി നല്കാത്തതെന്നുമാണ് ബിജെപി ആരോപിക്കുന്നത്. തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് ഒരുനാള്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ മേയര്‍ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയെ സ്വീകരിക്കുമെന്നു വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു മുന്‍പു തന്നെ ബിജെപി പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. അത് യാഥാര്‍ത്ഥ്യമായ സന്തോഷത്തിലാണ് ബിജെപി നേതൃത്വം.

Summary: The Kerala Government has refused to provide the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram for the railway programs attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 23.

The Reason: The government’s stance is that the venue cannot be handed over as preparations for the Republic Day parade on January 26 are currently underway at the stadium. The Prime Minister is visiting the city to release the Corporation’s Development Document and to inaugurate various railway projects.

Alternative Venues: Since the Central Stadium is unavailable, the Railways and the BJP are looking for other venues. Karyavattom Greenfield Stadium is also unavailable due to ongoing cricket matches. Consequently, there are moves to shift the event to the Putharikandam Ground.

Allegations and Context: Allegations have surfaced that denying the stadium two days before Republic Day is a deliberate move. The Railways had specifically requested the Central Stadium because the Prime Minister has attended events there before, making security clearances easier.

The BJP leadership alleges that there is politics behind this decision. The Prime Minister’s visit comes shortly after the BJP won control of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. Additionally, the visit follows the allocation of three Amrit Bharat trains and one passenger train to Kerala just before the upcoming Assembly elections.

The BJP accuses the CPM leadership of fearing that the BJP will garner votes by highlighting development, which is why they are denying a venue for the Prime Minister’s railway function. The BJP leadership expressed their satisfaction that their long-standing prediction—that a BJP Mayor would one day welcome the Prime Minister to Thiruvananthapuram—has finally become a reality.
