ഒറ്റപ്പാലത്ത് ദമ്പതികളെ മരുമകന്‍ വെട്ടിക്കൊന്നു, നാലു വയസ്സുള്ള കുഞ്ഞിനും വെട്ടേറ്റു, പ്രതി പിടിയില്‍

Double Murder in Ottapalam: Son-in-law Hacks Couple to Death; 4-Year-Old Injured, Suspect Arrested

ഒറ്റപ്പാലം : പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ ഒറ്റപ്പാലം തോട്ടക്കരയില്‍ ദമ്പതികളായ നാലകത്ത് നസീര്‍ (63), ഭാര്യ സുഹറ (60) എന്നിവരെ വീട്ടില്‍ വെട്ടേറ്റു മരിച്ച നിലയില്‍ കണ്ടെത്തി. കൊലപാതകവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഇവരുടെ മകളുടെ ആദ്യ ഭര്‍ത്താവായ പൊന്നാനി സ്വദേശി മുഹമ്മദ് റാഫിയെ പോലീസ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തു. 

18 ഞായറാഴ്ച രാത്രി 12 മണിയോടെയാണ് നാടിനെ നടുക്കിയ ഈ ക്രൂരകൃത്യം നടന്നത്. കൊലപാതകത്തിന് ശേഷം രക്ഷപ്പെടാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ച റാഫിയെ തിങ്കളാഴ്ച പുലര്‍ച്ചെ നാല് മണിയോടെ സമീപത്തെ പള്ളിക്കാട്ടില്‍ നിന്നാണ് പോലീസ് പിടികൂടിയത്. പിടികൂടുമ്പോള്‍ പ്രതി സ്വന്തം കൈഞരമ്പ് മുറിച്ച നിലയിലായിരുന്നു.

ദമ്പതികളുടെ വളര്‍ത്തുമകളായ സുല്‍ഫിയത്തിന്റെ നാല് വയസ്സുള്ള മകനും ആക്രമണത്തില്‍ ഗുരുതരമായി പരിക്കേറ്റിട്ടുണ്ട്. കുട്ടിയെ ആദ്യം ഒറ്റപ്പാലം താലൂക്ക് ആശുപത്രിയിലും പിന്നീട് വിദഗ്ധ ചികിത്സയ്ക്കായി വാണിയംകുളത്തെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്കും മാറ്റി.

സുല്‍ഫിയത്ത് പരിക്കേറ്റ കുട്ടിയുമായി വീടിന് പുറത്തേക്ക് ഓടി നിലവിളിച്ചപ്പോഴാണ് നാട്ടുകാര്‍ വിവരമറിഞ്ഞത്. ഈ സമയം ഓടി രക്ഷപ്പെട്ട റാഫിക്കായി പോലീസ് ഉടന്‍ തന്നെ തിരച്ചില്‍ ആരംഭിച്ചിരുന്നു.

പ്രതിയെ പോലീസ് ചോദ്യം ചെയ്തു വരുന്നു. ഒറ്റപ്പാലം പോലീസ് ഇന്‍ക്വസ്റ്റ് നടപടികള്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കി മൃതദേഹങ്ങള്‍ പോസ്റ്റ്മോര്‍ട്ടത്തിനായി മാറ്റി.

Summary:  In a shocking incident at Thottakkara in Ottapalam, Palakkad district, an elderly couple was found hacked to death inside their home. The deceased have been identified as Nalakath Naseer (63) and his wife Suhara (60). The police have taken the deceased's son-in-law, Mohammed Rafi, a native of Ponnani, into custody in connection with the murders.

The brutal crime occurred around 12:00 AM on Sunday, the 18th. Following the incident, Rafi attempted to flee but was apprehended by the police from a nearby cemetery thicket around 4:00 AM on Monday. At the time of his arrest, the suspect had slit his own wrist.

The couple's four-year-old grandson (son of their foster daughter, Sulfiyath) also sustained critical injuries in the attack. The child was initially rushed to the Ottapalam Taluk Hospital and later shifted to a private hospital in Vaniamkulam for advanced treatment.

The incident came to light when Sulfiyath ran out of the house screaming for help while carrying the injured child. Neighbors immediately alerted the authorities. The suspect, Rafi, managed to flee the scene at that moment, prompting an immediate manhunt by the police.

The police are currently interrogating the suspect. Ottapalam police have completed the inquest procedures, and the bodies have been moved for post-mortem examination.
