തിരുവനന്തപുരം: ബംഗാള്‍ ഉള്‍ക്കടലില്‍ രൂപപ്പെട്ട ചക്രവാതച്ചുഴിയുടെ ഫലമായി വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച (ജനുവരി 9, 2026) മുതല്‍ കേരളത്തില്‍ മഴ ശക്തമാകാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര കാലാവസ്ഥ വകുപ്പ് അറിയിച്ചു.

വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച പത്തനംതിട്ട, ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലകളില്‍ യെല്ലോ അലര്‍ട്ട് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. ഈ ജില്ലകളില്‍ ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട ശക്തമായ മഴയ്ക്ക് സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്.

ചക്രവാതച്ചുഴി നിലവില്‍ ഭൂമധ്യരേഖയ്ക്ക് സമീപമാണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഇത് വെള്ളിയാഴ്ചയോടെ ശ്രീലങ്കന്‍ തീരത്തേക്ക് നീങ്ങുന്നതോടെ കേരളത്തിലെ മധ്യ-തെക്കന്‍ ജില്ലകളില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ മഴ ലഭിക്കും. തെക്കന്‍ തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലും ശക്തമായ മഴയ്ക്ക് സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്.

ജനുവരി 9-ന് ബംഗാള്‍ ഉള്‍ക്കടലിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിലും കന്യാകുമാരി തീരത്തും മണിക്കൂറില്‍ 35 മുതല്‍ 55 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വരെ വേഗത്തില്‍ ശക്തമായ കാറ്റിനും മോശം കാലാവസ്ഥയ്ക്കും സാധ്യതയുള്ളതിനാല്‍ മത്സ്യത്തൊഴിലാളികള്‍ കടലില്‍ പോകരുതെന്ന് മുന്നറിയിപ്പുണ്ട്.

ഈ ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ മണിക്കൂറില്‍ 35 മുതല്‍ 45 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വരെയും ചില അവസരങ്ങളില്‍ 55 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വരെയും വേഗതയില്‍ ശക്തമായ കാറ്റ് വീശാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്. അതിനാല്‍ തീരദേശവാസികളും മത്സ്യത്തൊഴിലാളികളും ജാഗ്രത പാലിക്കണമെന്ന് നിര്‍ദ്ദേശമുണ്ട്.
