തിരുവനന്തപുരം: ഏറെ ശ്രദ്ധ പിടിച്ചുപറ്റിയ തിരുവനന്തപുരം കോര്‍പ്പറേഷനിലെ മുട്ടട വാര്‍ഡില്‍ യു.ഡി.എഫ്. സ്ഥാനാര്‍ഥി വൈഷ്ണ സുരേഷ് അട്ടിമറി ജയം നേടി. ഇടതുപക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ശക്തികേന്ദ്രമായി അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന വാര്‍ഡാണ് മുട്ടട.

363 വോട്ടിനാണ് വൈഷ്ണ വിജയിച്ചത്. യു.ഡി.എഫ്. സ്ഥാനാര്‍ഥിയായി വൈഷ്ണ സുരേഷ് വന്നതിന് പിന്നാലെ വോട്ടര്‍ പട്ടികയില്‍ നിന്ന് അവരുടെ പേര് വെട്ടിമാറ്റിയത് വിവാദമായിരുന്നു. സി.പി.എമ്മും മേയര്‍ ആര്യാ രാജേന്ദ്രനും ഇടപെട്ടാണ് പേരു മാറ്റിയതെന്ന് യുഡിഎഫ് ആരോപിച്ചിരുന്നു.

തുടര്‍ന്ന്, വൈഷ്ണ ഹൈക്കോടതിയെ സമീപിച്ച് അനുകൂല വിധി നേടിയാണ് സ്ഥാനാര്‍ഥിത്വം ഉറപ്പിച്ചത്.

Vyshna won with a majority of 363 votes. Her name being struck off the voters' list soon after she became the UDF candidate had sparked a controversy. The UDF had alleged that the name was removed due to the intervention of the CPM and Mayor Arya Rajendran.

Subsequently, Vyshna approached the High Court and secured a favorable verdict, confirming her candidature.
