കൊച്ചി: സൂരജ് ലാമയുടെ തിരോധാനക്കേസില്‍ സംഭവിച്ച പിഴവുകളില്‍ ഹൈക്കോടതി ഞെട്ടല്‍ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി. ''കൊല്ലാന്‍ വേണ്ടി കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു പോലെ'' എന്ന് മുന്‍പ് പറഞ്ഞത് ആവര്‍ത്തിക്കേണ്ടി വരുന്നു എന്ന് ജസ്റ്റിസ് ദേവന്‍ രാമചന്ദ്രന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

സൂരജ് ലാമയെ കാണാനില്ലെന്ന് കാട്ടി മകന്‍ സന്ദന്‍ ലാമ നല്‍കിയ  ഹേബിയസ് കോര്‍പ്പസ് ഹര്‍ജിയാണ് കോടതി പരിഗണിച്ചത്. അടുത്തിടെ കളമശ്ശേരി എച്ച്എംടിക്ക് സമീപം കണ്ടെത്തിയ മൃതദേഹം സൂരജ് ലാമയുടേതാണോ എന്നതില്‍ ഫൊറന്‍സിക് പരിശോധനാഫലം ഉടന്‍ ഹാജരാക്കാന്‍ കോടതി നിര്‍ദ്ദേശിച്ചു.

''ഗാന്ധിജി നാക്കിലുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ആരുടെയും ഹൃദയത്തിലില്ല. 'മഹാത്മാ ഗാന്ധി പറഞ്ഞ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ മനസ്സിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഇന്ത്യ എന്നേ നന്നായേനേ. സൂരജ് ലാമയുടെ കാര്യത്തില്‍ എല്ലാ സംവിധാനവും പരാജയപ്പെട്ടു. ഇവിടെ വിഐപികള്‍ക്കു മാത്രമേ പരിഗണനയുള്ളൂ. സാധാരണക്കാര്‍ ആര്‍ക്കും പ്രധാനമല്ല'' എന്ന് കോടതി അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടു.

കുവൈത്തില്‍ മദ്യദുരന്തത്തിന് ഇരയായി ഓര്‍മ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട ബംഗളൂരു സ്വദേശി സൂരജ് ലാമയെ അധികൃതര്‍ ഒക്ടോബറില്‍ കൊച്ചിയിലേക്ക് കയറ്റിവിട്ടിരുന്നു. നെടുമ്പാശ്ശേരി വിമാനത്താവളത്തില്‍നിന്നു പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ അദ്ദേഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് പിന്നീട് വിവരമൊന്നും ലഭിച്ചില്ല.

പൊലീസ് സൂരജ് ലാമയെ ഒരു ആംബുലന്‍സില്‍ കയറ്റി മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളജ് ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് അയയ്ക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ആംബുലന്‍സ് ഡ്രൈവറാണ് ഒപി ടിക്കറ്റ് എടുത്തത് എന്നാണ് മെഡിക്കല്‍ സൂപ്രണ്ടിന്റെ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടില്‍ പറയുന്നത്.

സൂരജ് ലാമയെ ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് അയച്ചപ്പോള്‍ പൊലീസ് രേഖകളോ, കൂടെ ആളോ ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നത് കോടതി ചോദ്യം ചെയ്തു. 'ആരും കൂടെപ്പോയില്ല. ആരാണ് ആംബുലന്‍സിന് പണം നല്‍കിയത്?' എന്നും കോടതി ചോദിച്ചു.

അദ്ദേഹത്തെ കുവൈത്തില്‍നിന്നു കയറ്റി വിട്ടതു സംബന്ധിച്ച രേഖകള്‍ ഹാജരാക്കാന്‍ കോടതി കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാരിനും നിര്‍ദേശം നല്‍കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

Summary: The High Court expressed shock at the mistakes that occurred in the Sooraj Lama disappearance case. Justice Devan Ramachandran stated that he has to repeat the earlier remark that it was "as if he was brought here to be killed."

The court was considering a habeas corpus petition filed by his son, Sandan Lama, reporting Sooraj Lama missing. The court directed that the forensic test results on whether the body recently found near Kalamassery HMT belongs to Sooraj Lama must be submitted immediately.

"Gandhi is on the tongue, but not in anyone's heart. If the things Mahatma Gandhi said were in mind, India would have been better long ago. In Sooraj Lama's case, the entire system failed. Only VIPs get consideration here. Ordinary people are not important to anyone," the court observed.

Sooraj Lama, a Bengaluru native who suffered memory loss after being a victim of a liquor tragedy in Kuwait, was deported to Kochi by the authorities in October. No information about him was received after he exited the Nedumbassery airport.
