കൊച്ചി : നടിയെ ആക്രമിച്ച കേസില്‍ ശിക്ഷാവിധി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നതിന് മുന്‍പ്, പ്രതിക്കൂട്ടില്‍ കയറ്റിയ പ്രതികളോട് ശിക്ഷാവിധിയില്‍ എന്താണ് പറയാനുള്ളതെന്ന് കോടതി ചോദിച്ചിരുന്നു. പ്രതികള്‍ കോടതിയോട് ദയയും ഇളവും അഭ്യര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചു.

പള്‍സര്‍ സുനി: വീട്ടില്‍ അമ്മ മാത്രമേയുള്ളൂ. ശിക്ഷ പരമാവധി ഇളവുചെയ്യണം.

മാര്‍ട്ടിന്‍ ആന്റണി: താന്‍ നിരപരാധിയാണ്. അഞ്ചര വര്‍ഷം ജയിലില്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞതിനാല്‍ ശിക്ഷയില്‍ ഇളവ് വേണം. അസുഖബാധിതരായ മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ മാത്രമേ വീട്ടിലുള്ളൂ. താന്‍ മാത്രമാണ് ആശ്രയമെന്നു കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു. വിധി കേട്ടും ഇയാള്‍ പൊട്ടിക്കരഞ്ഞു. 

ബി. മണികണ്ഠന്‍: ഭാര്യയും കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുമേ ഉള്ളൂ. മനഃപൂര്‍വം തെറ്റൊന്നും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല. ജയില്‍ശിക്ഷ ഒഴിവാക്കി നല്‍കണം.

വി.പി. വിജീഷ്: ഏറ്റവും കുറഞ്ഞ ശിക്ഷ നല്‍കണണ. കണ്ണൂര്‍ ജയിലിലേയ്ക്ക് അയക്കണം. 

എച്ച്. സലീം: ഒരു തെറ്റും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല. ഭാര്യയുടെയും ഒരു വയസ്സുള്ള കുഞ്ഞിന്റെയും ഏക ആശ്രയം താനാണ്.

പ്രദീപ്: കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ ഏക ആശ്രയം താനാണെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് കോടതിയില്‍ കരഞ്ഞു.

പ്രോസിക്യൂഷന്‍ വാദങ്ങള്‍:

പ്രതികള്‍ക്ക് പരമാവധി ശിക്ഷ നല്‍കണം. പ്രതികള്‍ നടത്തിയത് ആസൂത്രിതമായ കുറ്റകൃത്യമാണ്. എല്ലാ പ്രതികള്‍ക്കും ഒരേ ശിക്ഷ നല്‍കണം.

Pulsar Suni: "Only my mother is at home. The sentence should be reduced as much as possible."

Martin Antony: He cried, saying he was innocent and that he only has ailing parents at home, making him their sole support. He requested clemency as he has already spent five and a half years in jail. He broke down again upon hearing the verdict.

B. Manikandan: "I only have my wife and children. I did not commit any intentional wrong. The jail term should be waived."

V.P. Vijeesh: Requested the minimum sentence possible and asked to be transferred to Kannur Jail.

H. Saleem: Stated he had not committed any mistake and that he is the only support for his wife and a one-year-old child.

Pradeep: Cried in court, stating he is the sole breadwinner for his family.
