ശബരിമല സ്വര്‍ണം കൊള്ള: തിരുവാഭരണം മുന്‍ കമ്മിഷണര്‍ ബൈജു അറസ്റ്റില്‍

തിരുവനന്തപുരം:  ശബരിമലയിലെ ദ്വാരപാലക ശില്‍പ്പങ്ങളിലെ സ്വര്‍ണ്ണപ്പാളികള്‍ കൊള്ളയടിച്ച കേസില്‍ തിരുവാഭരണം മുന്‍ കമ്മിഷണര്‍ കെ.എസ്. ബൈജു അറസ്റ്റില്‍. ദേവസ്വം മുന്‍ എക്‌സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് ഓഫീസര്‍ സുധീഷ് കുമാറിനെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തതിന് പിന്നാലെയാണ് ബൈജു അറസ്റ്റിലായിരിക്കുന്നത്.

ക്രൈംബ്രാഞ്ച് സ്‌പെഷ്യല്‍ ഇന്‍വെസ്റ്റിഗേഷന്‍ ടീമാണ് ബൈജുവിനെ അറസ്റ്റുചെയ്തത്. കേസില്‍ ഇദ്ദേഹം ഏഴാം പ്രതിയാണ്.

2019-ല്‍ ദ്വാരപാലക ശില്‍പ്പങ്ങളുടെ സ്വര്‍ണ്ണപ്പാളികള്‍ അഴിച്ചുമാറ്റി ഇലക്ട്രോപ്ലേറ്റിംഗിനായി പ്രധാന പ്രതിയായ ഉണ്ണികൃഷ്ണന്‍ പോറ്റിക്ക് കൈമാറുമ്പോള്‍, തിരുവാഭരണം കമ്മിഷണര്‍ എന്ന നിലയില്‍ ആവശ്യമായ സ്റ്റോക്ക് പരിശോധന നടത്തുകയോ മഹസറില്‍ (കൈമാറ്റരേഖ) കൃത്യമായി രേഖപ്പെടുത്തുകയോ ചെയ്തില്ല. ഇത് ഗൂഢാലോചനയുടെ ഭാഗമായിരുന്നു എന്നാണ് സ്‌പെഷ്യല്‍ ഇന്‍വെസ്റ്റിഗേഷന്‍ ടീം കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ കേസില്‍ ഇതുവരെ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയ നാലാമത്തെ അറസ്റ്റാണിത്. 2019ല്‍ ബൈജു ജോലിയില്‍ നിന്ന് വിരമിച്ചിരുന്നു.

ദ്വാരപാലക ശില്‍പ്പത്തിലെ സ്വര്‍ണ്ണപ്പാളികള്‍ ഉണ്ണികൃഷ്ണന്‍ പോറ്റിക്കു കൊടുക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത് തിരുവാഭരണം കമ്മിഷണറായ കെ എസ് ബൈജു സ്ഥലത്തു പോലും ചെന്നില്ല. തിരുവാഭരണം, ഭരണിപാത്രം സംരക്ഷണ നിയമങ്ങളൊന്നും 15 വര്‍ഷമായി ശബരിമലയില്‍ പാലിക്കാറില്ല.

ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളില്‍ സൂക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള തിരുവാഭരണം, ഭരണിപാത്രം, പട്ടുപരി വട്ടം, മറ്റിനം എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ള വിലപിടിച്ച ഉരുപ്പടികളുടെ നടവരവോ, വിനിയോഗമോ കൃത്യമായി പരിപാലിക്കപ്പെടുന്നില്ലെന്നും അന്വേഷക സംഘം കണ്ടെത്തി.

സ്വര്‍ണ്ണം ഉള്‍പ്പടെ ദേവസ്വം ബോര്‍ഡിലെ അമൂല്യ വസ്തുക്കളുടെ പൂര്‍ണ ചുമതല തിരുവാഭരണം കമ്മിഷണര്‍ക്കാണ്. മോഷണം ഉന്നമിട്ട് ആസൂത്രിതമായി ബൈജു വിട്ടുനിന്നുവെന്നാണ് കണ്ടെത്തില്‍. ദ്വാരപാലക ശില്പങ്ങളിലെ സ്വര്‍ണത്തിനു പുറമേ, കട്ടിളപാളി കേസിലെ ഇടപെടലുകളെക്കുറിച്ചും  ബൈജുവിന് അറിയാമെന്നാണ് അന്വേഷക സംഘം അനുമാനിക്കുന്നത്.

Summary: Former Thiruvabharanam Commissioner K.S. Baiju has been arrested in the case related to the misappropriation of gold panels from the Dwarapalaka idols (gatekeeper idols) at Sabarimala temple. The arrest of Baiju follows the earlier arrest of former Devaswom Executive Officer Sudheesh Kumar. Baiju was arrested by the Crime Branch Special Investigation Team (SIT). He is the seventh accused in the case.

The SIT has found that when the gold panels of the Dwarapalaka idols were removed in 2019 and handed over to the main accused, Unnikrishnan Potty, for electroplating, Baiju, in his capacity as Thiruvabharanam Commissioner, failed to conduct the required stock verification or make a proper record in the Mahazar (handover document). This omission is believed to be part of the conspiracy. This is the fourth arrest recorded so far in this case. Baiju had retired from service in 2019.
