തിരുവനന്തപുരം : സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് പുതിയ ജില്ലകള്‍ അനുവദിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ തിരുവനന്തപുരം വിഭജിച്ച് നെയ്യാറ്റിന്‍കര കേന്ദ്രമാക്കി പുതിയ ജില്ല രൂപീകരിക്കണമെന്ന് ശക്തന്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. ഇക്കാര്യം ഔദ്യോഗികമായി മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുമെന്ന് ഒരു ഓണ്‍ ലൈന്‍ പോര്‍ട്ടലിനു നല്കിയ അഭിമുഖത്തില്‍ അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.

നെയ്യാറ്റിന്‍കര ജില്ല വേണമെന്ന ആവശ്യം മുന്‍പും ഉന്നയിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ളതാണ്. എന്നാല്‍ നിലവില്‍ സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് പുതിയ ജില്ലകള്‍ രൂപീകരിക്കുന്നതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ചര്‍ച്ചകള്‍ സജീവമായ സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍, മുന്‍ സ്പീക്കറും നെയ്യാറ്റിന്‍കര എം.എല്‍.എയും തിരുവനന്തപുരം ഡി.സി.സി പ്രസിഡന്റുമായ എന്‍. ശക്തന്‍ ഈ ആവശ്യം മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ മുന്നില്‍ ശക്തമായി ഉന്നയിക്കാന്‍ ഒരുങ്ങുകയാണ്.

നെയ്യാറ്റിന്‍കര, പാറശ്ശാല, കോവളം, കാട്ടാക്കട, അരുവിക്കര എന്നീ നിമയസഭാ മണ്ഡലങ്ങള്‍ ചേര്‍ത്തു പുതിയ ജില്ല രൂപീകരിക്കണമെന്നാണ് ശക്തന്റെ ആവശ്യം. നിലവില്‍ കേരളത്തില്‍ ഏറ്റവും പിന്നാക്കം നില്‍ക്കുന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് ഈ ഭാഗങ്ങള്‍. നെയ്യാറ്റിന്‍കര കേന്ദ്രമാക്കി പുതിയ ജില്ല വരുമ്പോള്‍ നഗരകേന്ദ്രീകൃതമായ വികസനങ്ങള്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ഈ മേഖലകളിലേക്ക് എത്തും.

തിരുവനന്തപുരം ജില്ലയുടെ തെക്കേയറ്റത്തുള്ള അമ്പൂരി, പാറശ്ശാല തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രദേശങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും തമിഴ്നാട് അതിര്‍ത്തിയില്‍ നിന്നുമുള്ള ആളുകള്‍ക്ക് തിരുവനന്തപുരം നഗരത്തിലേക്കും മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളേജിലേക്കും അടിയന്തര ആവശ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് എത്തിയെത്താന്‍ വലിയ പ്രയാസമുണ്ട്.

നെയ്യാറ്റിന്‍കര കേന്ദ്രമാക്കി പുതിയ ജില്ല വേണമെന്നത് ഈ പ്രദേശത്തെ ജനങ്ങള്‍ കാലങ്ങളായി ഉന്നയിക്കുന്ന ആവശ്യമാണ്. മൂവാറ്റുപുഴ ജില്ല അനുവദിക്കുന്നത് പരിഗണനയിലുള്ള സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍, കേരളത്തിന്റെ തെക്കേയറ്റത്തെ ജില്ലയായി നെയ്യാറ്റിന്‍കരയെയും പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കണമെന്നാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ നിലപാട്.

കോവളം നിയോജകമണ്ഡലത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ഭാഗം തിരുവനന്തപുരം കോര്‍പ്പറേഷന്റെ പരിധിയില്‍ വരുമെങ്കിലും, പൂവാര്‍, അരുമാനൂര്‍, കാഞ്ഞിരംകുളം തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രദേശങ്ങള്‍ തിരുവനന്തപുരം നഗരത്തേക്കാള്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ അടുത്ത് നില്‍ക്കുന്നത് നെയ്യാറ്റിന്‍കരയോടാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ നെയ്യാറ്റിന്‍കര, കോവളം, പാറശ്ശാല എന്നീ മണ്ഡലങ്ങളിലെ ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഈ പുതിയ ജില്ല വളരെ അത്യാവശ്യമാണെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നു.

ഈ പ്രദേശങ്ങളുടെ സമഗ്രമായ വികസനം ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ടാണ് ഈ ഔദ്യോഗിക ഇടപെടല്‍ എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം അഭിമുഖത്തില്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നു.

The demand for a Neyyattinkara district has been raised in the past as well. However, amid active discussions regarding the formation of new districts in the state, former Speaker, Neyyattinkara MLA, and Thiruvananthapuram DCC President N. Sakthan is preparing to strongly press this demand before the Chief Minister.

Sakthan's proposal is to form the new district by combining the assembly constituencies of Neyyattinkara, Parassala, Kovalam, Kattakkada, and Aruvikkara. These regions are currently among the most underdeveloped in Kerala. Establishing a new district centered in Neyyattinkara would bring urban-centric development closer to these areas.

People from regions at the southern tip of Thiruvananthapuram district, such as Amboori and Parassala, as well as those living near the Tamil Nadu border, face immense difficulties reaching Thiruvananthapuram city and the Medical College for emergency needs.

The demand for a new district centered in Neyyattinkara has long been raised by the people of this region. Sakthan maintained that with the sanctioning of a Muvattupuzha district under consideration, Neyyattinkara should also be declared as the southernmost district of Kerala.

Although a portion of the Kovalam constituency falls under the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, areas like Poovar, Arumanoor, and Kanjiramkulam are geographically closer to Neyyattinkara than to Thiruvananthapuram city. Therefore, he clarified that this new district is an essential requirement for the people of the Neyyattinkara, Kovalam, and Parassala constituencies.

He highlighted in the interview that this official intervention aims at the overall development of these regions.
