കാഠ്മണ്ഡു : നേപ്പാളിലെ രസുവ ജില്ലയില് ടിബറ്റ് അതിര്ത്തിക്ക് സമീപം ഉണ്ടായ ശക്തമായ മിന്നല്പ്രളയത്തില് കുറഞ്ഞത് എട്ട് പേര് മരിക്കുകയും ഒമ്പത് പേരെ കാണാതാവുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഇതുവരെ എട്ട് മൃതദേഹങ്ങള് കണ്ടെടുത്തു. 33 സുരക്ഷാ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെ (26 നേപ്പാള് പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും 7 ആംഡ് പോലീസ് ഫോഴ്സ് അംഗങ്ങളും) കാണാതായിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് നേപ്പാള് അധികൃതര് അറിയിച്ചു.
വെള്ളപ്പൊക്ക ബാധിത മേഖലകളിൽ നിന്ന് 291 വിദേശികളും 93 നേപ്പാൾ പൗരന്മാരും ഉൾപ്പെടെ 384 വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികളെ കാണാതായതായി നേപ്പാൾ ടൂറിസം ബോർഡ് അറിയിച്ചു. കാണാതായ വിദേശികളിൽ 105 പേർ ഇന്ത്യൻ പൗരന്മാരാണെന്ന് അധികൃതർ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. പ്രകൃതിദുരന്തത്തെ തുടർന്ന് നേപ്പാളിലെ പ്രധാന ഹൈവേകൾ പലതും അടച്ചിട്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
ഭോട്ടെ കോശി നദിയില് ടിബറ്റന് ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നുണ്ടായ വെള്ളപ്പൊക്കവും മണ്ണിടിച്ചിലുമാണ് ദുരന്തത്തിന് കാരണമായത്. സ്യാപ്രു ബെസി, തിമൂറെ ഉള്പ്പെടെയുള്ള പ്രദേശങ്ങളെ ഇത് രൂക്ഷമായി ബാധിച്ചു. ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും വികസന പദ്ധതി പ്രദേശങ്ങളും ഒലിച്ചുപോയതായി റിപ്പോര്ട്ടുകള് വന്നതിനെ തുടര്ന്ന് വന് തോതില് ആളപായത്തിന് സാധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്ന് പ്രാദേശിക അധികൃതര് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നല്കിയിരുന്നു.
തിമുറെ ബസാര്, കസ്റ്റംസ് ഏരിയ, പുതിയതായി നിര്മ്മിച്ച ഫ്രണ്ട്ഷിപ്പ് പാലം എന്നിവ പൂര്ണ്ണമായും ഒലിച്ചുപോയി. മൂന്ന് പോലീസ് പോസ്റ്റുകള്ക്കും കേടുപാടുകള് സംഭവിച്ചു.
കാണാതായവരില് തിമുറെയില് സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിരുന്ന 9 സായുധ പോലീസ് സേന അംഗങ്ങളും ഉള്പ്പെടുന്നു.
നേപ്പാളിന്റെ ആകെ ജലവൈദ്യുത ഉല്പ്പാദനത്തിന്റെ 12 ശതമാനത്തോളം (ഏകദേശം 430 മെഗാവാട്ട്) വരുന്ന പദ്ധതികളെ പ്രളയം ബാധിച്ചതിനെ തുടര്ന്ന് വൈദ്യുതി വിതരണം തടസ്സപ്പെട്ടു.
നേപ്പാള് സൈന്യവും പോലീസും രക്ഷാപ്രവര്ത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ചെങ്കിലും, ജലനിരപ്പ് ഉയര്ന്നതിനാല് ഹെലികോപ്റ്ററുകള്ക്ക് ഇറങ്ങാന് കഴിയാത്തത് തിരിച്ചടിയായി.
അതിര്ത്തി പ്രദേശമായ ഗൈറോംഗില് മണ്ണിടിച്ചിലിനെ തുടര്ന്ന് ഗതാഗതവും വാര്ത്താവിനിമയ ബന്ധങ്ങളും വിച്ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടുകയും വന്തോതില് ആളപായം സംഭവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
നേപ്പാളിലെ ഭോട്ടെ കോശി നദി ത്രിശൂലി നദി വഴി ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഗന്ധക് നദിയിലേക്ക് ഒഴുകിയെത്തുന്നതിനാല് ബിഹാര് സര്ക്കാരും അതിര്ത്തി ജില്ലകളില് ജാഗ്രതാ നിര്ദ്ദേശം നല്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
പ്രളയജലം താഴേക്ക് നുവാകോട്ട്, ധാഡിംഗ് കളിലേക്കും വ്യാപിച്ചു. ഭോട്ടെ കോശി നദീതീരത്ത് താമസിക്കുന്നവരോട് ഉയര്ന്ന സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്ക് മാറാന് നിര്ദ്ദേശിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
തിമൂറെയിലെ രസുവ കസ്റ്റംസ് ഓഫീസിലെ 14 ജീവനക്കാരുമായും ബന്ധപ്പെടാന് സാധിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.
പ്രളയത്തിന്റെ കൃത്യമായ കാരണം വ്യക്തമായിട്ടില്ല. മഞ്ഞുമലകള് ഉരുകി തടാകങ്ങള് കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്ന 'ഗ്ലേഷ്യല് ലേക്ക് ഔട്ട്ബര്സ്റ്റ് ഫ്ലഡ്' ആണോ ഇതെന്ന് അധികൃതര് പരിശോധിച്ചുവരികയാണ്.ഏകദേശം 50,000 ജനസംഖയുള്ള രസുവ ജില്ലയിലെ തിമൂറെ, സ്യാപ്രു ബെസി എന്നീ പ്രദേശങ്ങളെ പ്രളയം സാരമായി ബാധിച്ചു. വീടുകളും അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യ പദ്ധതികളും ഒലിച്ചുപോയി.
പ്രളയത്തില് കുടുങ്ങിയ അഞ്ച് പേരെ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തി ചക്രദേവ് ആശുപത്രിയിലാക്കി. നേരത്തെ 12 പേരെ ഹെലികോപ്റ്റര് മാര്ഗ്ഗം രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തിയതായി നേപ്പാള് സൈന്യം അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു. 4 സൈനിക ഹെലികോപ്റ്ററുകളും 8 സ്വകാര്യ ഹെലികോപ്റ്ററുകളും രക്ഷാപ്രവര്ത്തനത്തിനായി വിന്യസിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
നുവാകോട്ടിലെ ത്രിശൂലി ബസാറിന് സമീപമുള്ള 60 ഓളം വീടുകള് ഒലിച്ചുപോകുകയും രണ്ട് മോട്ടോര് പാലങ്ങള്ക്ക് കേടുപാടുകള് സംഭവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. വാഹനം, സാധന സാമഗ്രികള് എന്നിവ പ്രളയത്തില്പ്പെട്ടു. ത്രിശൂലി ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്കുള്ള റോഡ് ഗതാഗതം തടസ്സപ്പെട്ടു.
ചൈന-നേപ്പാള് അതിര്ത്തിയായ ടിബറ്റിലെ ഗൈറോംഗ് പോര്ട്ടിന് സമീപമുണ്ടായ മണ്ണടിച്ചിലില് നിരവധി പേര് കൊല്ലപ്പെടുകയോ കാണാതാവുകയോ ചെയ്തതായി റിപ്പോര്ട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇവിടുത്തെ റോഡ്, വാര്ത്താവിനിമയ ശൃംഖലകള് വിച്ഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.
കാണാതായവര്ക്കായി തിരച്ചില് ഊര്ജ്ജിതമാക്കാനും തുടര്ന്നുള്ള ദുരന്തങ്ങള് ഒഴിവാക്കാന് മുന്കരുതല് നിരീക്ഷണ സംവിധാനങ്ങള് ശക്തമാക്കാനും ചൈനീസ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ഷി ജിന്പിങ് ഉത്തരവിട്ടു.
News in English: At least eight people have died and nine remain missing following a massive flash flood near the Tibet border in Nepal's Rasuwa district. Eight bodies have been recovered so far. Nepalese authorities reported that 33 security personnel (26 Nepal Police officers and 7 Armed Police Force members) are currently missing.
The disaster was triggered by flooding and landslides originating from the Tibetan section of the Bhote Koshi River, severely impacting areas including Syabrubesi and Timure. Local authorities warned of potential high casualties following reports that entire villages and development project sites were swept away.
The Timure Bazaar, the customs area, and the newly constructed Friendship Bridge were completely washed away. Three police posts were also damaged. Among the missing are nine Armed Police Force personnel who were deployed in Timure.
Power supply was disrupted after the floods affected projects generating roughly 12% (about 430 MW) of Nepal's total hydroelectric power output. While the Nepal Army and Police have launched rescue operations, rising water levels have hindered helicopters from landing.
In the border region of Gyirong (Tibet), landslides severed transportation and communication networks, causing heavy casualties.
Because Nepal's Bhote Koshi River flows via the Trishuli River into India's Gandak River, the Bihar government has issued an alert across its border districts. Floodwaters have also spread downstream to Nuwakot and Dhading. Residents along the banks of the Bhote Koshi River have been instructed to move to higher ground.
Additionally, contact has been lost with 14 staff members at the Rasuwa Customs Office in Timure.
xact cause of the flood remains unclear. Authorities are investigating whether it was a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) caused by melting glaciers. The areas of Timure and Syabrubesi in Rasuwa district, which has a total population of around 50,000, were severely hit, with houses and infrastructure washed away.
Five trapped individuals were rescued and admitted to Chakra Dev Hospital. The Nepal Army previously reported rescuing 12 people via helicopter. A total of four military helicopters and eight private helicopters have been deployed for rescue operations.
In Nuwakot, around 60 houses near Trishuli Bazaar were swept away, and two motorable bridges were damaged. Vehicles and goods were carried off by the floodwaters, and road access to Trishuli Hospital has been cut off.
Reports indicate that near Gyirong Port in Tibet, along the China-Nepal border, several people were killed or reported missing due to landslides. Local road and communication networks remain completely severed. Chinese President Xi Jinping has ordered intensified search efforts for the missing and strengthened early-warning monitoring systems to prevent further disasters.
