തിരുവനന്തപുരം: അറബിക്കടലിലെ തീരദേശ ന്യൂനമര്ദ്ദ പാത്തിയുടെ സ്വാധീനത്താല് സംസ്ഥാനത്തുടനീളം അതിശക്തമായ മഴ തുടരുന്നു. പലയിടത്തുമുണ്ടായ ലഘുമേഘവിസ്ഫോടനങ്ങളെ തുടര്ന്നുണ്ടായ മിന്നല്പ്രളയത്തിലും ഉരുള്പൊട്ടലിലും സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് വന് നാശനഷ്ടങ്ങളാണ് റിപ്പോര്ട്ട് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്.
മരണവും കാണാതായവരും: 3 കുട്ടികള് ഉള്പ്പെടെ 8 പേര് മരിച്ചു (6 മരണങ്ങള് ഔദ്യോഗികമായി സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു). 8 പേരെ കാണാതായിട്ടുണ്ട്. 13 പേര് പരിക്കേറ്റ് ചികിത്സയിലാണ്.
സംസ്ഥാനത്തൊട്ടാകെ 27 വീടുകള് പൂര്ണ്ണമായും 196 വീടുകള് ഭാഗികമായും തകര്ന്നു. സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് തുറന്ന 209 ക്യാമ്പുകളിലായി 5,792 പേരെ മാറ്റിപ്പാര്പ്പിച്ചു.

പത്തനംതിട്ടയിലെ റാന്നി ടൗണ് മിന്നല്പ്രളയത്തില് പൂര്ണ്ണമായി വെള്ളത്തിനടിയിലായി. പമ്പ, അച്ചന്കോവില്, മണിമലയാര്, മൂവാറ്റുപുഴയാര്, മണിയാര്, കല്ലടയാര് എന്നീ പ്രധാന നദികള് അപകടകരമായ രീതിയില് കരകവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്നു. ജലനിരപ്പ് ക്രമീകരിക്കുന്നതിനായി ഇടുക്കി കല്ലാര് ഡാം ഉള്പ്പെടെയുള്ളവയുടെ ഷട്ടറുകള് ഉയര്ത്തി.
ഇടുക്കി, വയനാട്, പത്തനംതിട്ട, കോട്ടയം എന്നീ മലയോര മേഖലകളില് പലയിടത്തും മണ്ണിടിച്ചിലുണ്ടായതിനെ തുടര്ന്ന് കൊച്ചി-ധനുഷ്കോടി ദേശീയപാതയിലുള്പ്പെടെ ഗതാഗതം തടസ്സപ്പെട്ടു.
കാലാവസ്ഥാ വകുപ്പിന്റെ മുന്നറിയിപ്പുകള്
ഓറഞ്ച് അലര്ട്ട് (12 ജില്ലകളില്): തിരുവനന്തപുരവും കൊല്ലവും ഒഴികെയുള്ള 12 ജില്ലകളില് (പത്തനംതിട്ട, ആലപ്പുഴ, കോട്ടയം, ഇടുക്കി, എറണാകുളം, തൃശൂര്, പാലക്കാട്, മലപ്പുറം, കോഴിക്കോട്, വയനാട്, കണ്ണൂര്, കാസര്കോട്) അതിശക്തമായ മഴ മുന്നറിയിപ്പുണ്ട്. മണിക്കൂറില് 60 കി.മീ വരെ വേഗതയുള്ള കാറ്റിനും സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്.
മഞ്ഞ അലര്ട്ട്: തിരുവനന്തപുരം, കൊല്ലം ജില്ലകളില് ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട ശക്തമായ മഴയ്ക്ക് സാധ്യത.
മത്സ്യബന്ധന വിലക്ക്: കടല് കടുപ്പമാകാനും ശക്തമായ കാറ്റിനും ഉയര്ന്ന തിരമാലകള്ക്കും സാധ്യതയുള്ളതിനാല് കേരള തീരത്തുനിന്ന് കടലില് പോകുന്നത് പൂര്ണ്ണമായും വിലക്കി.
അവധികളും മാറ്റിവച്ച പരീക്ഷകളും
വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങള്ക്ക് അവധി: കാസര്കോട്, കണ്ണൂര്, കോഴിക്കോട്, വയനാട്, മലപ്പുറം, തൃശൂര്, എറണാകുളം, പത്തനംതിട്ട, കോട്ടയം എന്നീ ജില്ലകളിലെ എല്ലാ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങള്ക്കും ട്യൂഷന് സെന്ററുകള്ക്കും ജില്ലാ കളക്ടര്മാര് അവധി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.
പരീക്ഷകള് മാറ്റി: ഹയര് സെക്കന്ഡറി തുല്യതാ പരീക്ഷകള്, സെറ്റ് പരീക്ഷ, ശ്രീനാരായണഗുരു ഓപ്പണ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി, എം.ജി യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി പരീക്ഷകള് എന്നിവ മാറ്റിവച്ചു.
മഴ കാരണം പരീക്ഷ എഴുതാന് സാധിക്കാത്ത ഉദ്യോഗാര്ത്ഥികള്ക്ക് വീണ്ടും അവസരം നല്കുമെന്ന് കേരള പി എസ് സി അറിയിച്ചു.
ദുരിതാശ്വാസ ക്യാമ്പുകളിലെ പരാതികള്
പല ക്യാമ്പുകളിലും അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങളുടെ കുറവുണ്ടെന്ന് ജനങ്ങള് പരാതിപ്പെടുന്നു. പത്തനംതിട്ട ആറന്മുളയിലെ ക്യാമ്പുകളില് വെളിച്ചമില്ലെന്നും മരുന്നുകള് കൃത്യസമയത്ത് ലഭിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്നും അന്തേവാസികള് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി. വകുപ്പുകളുടെ ഏകോപനത്തിന് പ്രത്യേക സംവിധാനം വേണമെന്ന് പ്രാദേശിക ജനപ്രതിനിധികള് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടെങ്കിലും, വേണ്ടത്ര സംവിധാനങ്ങള് ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നാണ് പ്രാദേശിക ഭരണകൂടങ്ങളുടെ വിശദീകരണം.

Under the influence of a coastal low-pressure trough over the Arabian Sea, extremely heavy rainfall continues across the state. Widespread and severe damage has been reported following flash floods and landslides triggered by mini-cloudbursts in several areas.
Key Information and Casualties
Deaths and Missing: At least 8 people have died, including 3 children (6 deaths officially confirmed). 8 people are reported missing. Additionally, 13 injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment.
Property Damage: Across the state, 27 houses have been completely destroyed and 196 houses partially damaged.
Relief Camps: A total of 5,792 people have been relocated to 209 relief camps set up across the state.
Worst-Hit Districts: The most severe damage has occurred in Idukki, Kottayam, and Pathanamthitta districts. However, rain-related havoc is intense across all 14 districts.
Extreme Rainfall and Overflowing Rivers
Extremely heavy rainfall was recorded across the state over the past 24 hours:
Pathanamthitta (Vadasserikkara): 36.1 cm
Idukki (Vagamon): 31.43 cm
Other Major Locations: Laha (25 cm), Peermade and Thodupuzha (21 cm each), Ranni (19 cm), Karipur Airport, Kurudamannil, Palode, and Urumi (16 cm each).
Flood Situation:
Ranni town in Pathanamthitta has been completely submerged due to flash flooding. Major rivers including the Pamba, Achenkovil, Manimala, Muvattupuzha, Maniyar, and Kallada are overflowing dangerously above critical levels. Shutters of several reservoirs, including the Kallar Dam in Idukki, have been raised to regulate water levels.
Landslides in various hilly regions across Idukki, Wayanad, Pathanamthitta, and Kottayam have disrupted traffic on major routes, including the Kochi–Dhanushkodi National Highway.
Meteorological Department (IMD) Warnings
Orange Alert (12 Districts): Very heavy rainfall is predicted in 12 districts—Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod—excluding Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam. Strong winds with speeds up to 60 km/h are also expected.
Yellow Alert: Isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts.
Fishing Ban: Fishing operations along the Kerala coast have been completely banned due to rough sea conditions, strong winds, and high waves.
Educational Holidays and Postponed Examinations
School/College Holidays: District Collectors have declared holidays for all educational institutions and tuition centers in Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Malappuram, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Pathanamthitta, and Kottayam.
Examinations Postponed: Higher Secondary Equivalency Exams, SET exam, and examinations scheduled by Sree Narayananaguru Open University and MG University have been postponed.
The Kerala PSC announced that candidates unable to attend exams due to the severe weather will be granted another opportunity.
Complaints at Relief Camps
Residents in several camps have raised concerns regarding a lack of basic facilities. Inmates at relief camps in Aranmula, Pathanamthitta, reported an absence of electricity and delayed supply of medicines. Local representatives demanded a dedicated coordination mechanism across departments; however, local administrative officials stated that adequate arrangements have been made.
Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) Guidelines
Relocation: Residents in areas prone to landslides, soil erosion, and waterlogging, as well as those in structurally unsafe houses, must move to safe relief camps or relatives' homes during daytime hours.
Travel Restrictions: Night travel to hilly terrains and visits to rivers, waterfalls, and water bodies for tourism or leisure must be completely avoided.
Emergency Kit: Prepare an emergency kit containing essential medicines, a flashlight, drinking water, dry food, vital documents (in a waterproof pouch), and a power bank.
Avoid Rumors: Rely strictly on official communications and avoid spreading unverified information.
