ജൂണ്‍ 4-നാണ് ഗൗരി സ്പ്രാറ്റുമായുള്ള തന്റെ വിവാഹ വാര്‍ത്ത ആമിര്‍ ഖാന്‍ സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചത്. 25 വര്‍ഷമായി പരസ്പരം അറിയാമെങ്കിലും രണ്ട് വര്‍ഷം മുമ്പാണ് ഇവര്‍ പ്രണയത്തിലാകുന്നത്.

'ജൂലായ് 5-നാണ് വിവാഹം. വീട്ടില്‍ വച്ചുതന്നെയാണ് നടത്തുന്നത്. വളരെ ചെറിയൊരു വിവാഹമാണ്. അഞ്ചാം തീയതി ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വളരെ സവിശേഷമായ ദിവസമാണ്. ഇരു കുടുംബങ്ങളും കുറച്ച് അടുത്ത സുഹൃത്തുക്കളും മാത്രമായിരിക്കും ഉണ്ടാവുക.' അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു: 'വീട്ടില്‍ വച്ചാണ് ചടങ്ങുകള്‍. ഞങ്ങള്‍ സന്തോഷത്തോടെയിരിക്കാനും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുന്നോട്ടുള്ള യാത്ര നല്ലതായിരിക്കാനും നിങ്ങളുടെ എല്ലാവരുടെയും പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനകളും അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളും വേണം. ഇത് തികച്ചും ലളിതവും കുടുംബപരവുമായ ഒരു ചടങ്ങാണ്.'

തന്റെ 60-ാം ജന്മദിനത്തില്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളുമായി നടത്തിയ കൂടിക്കാഴ്ചയിലാണ് ആമിര്‍ ഖാന്‍ തന്റെ പങ്കാളിയായ ഗൗരിയെ ആദ്യമായി പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തിയത്.

'ഗൗരി പ്രൊഡക്ഷന്‍ രംഗത്താണ് ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഞാന്‍ എല്ലാ ദിവസവും അവള്‍ക്കായി പാട്ടുപാടാറുണ്ട്,' എന്ന് ആമിര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. തന്റെ 'ലഗാന്‍' സിനിമയിലെ ഭുവന്‍ എന്ന കഥാപാത്രത്തെ പരാമര്‍ശിച്ച്, 'ഭുവന് അവന്റെ ഗൗരിയെ കിട്ടി' എന്നും അദ്ദേഹം തമാശയായി പറഞ്ഞു (ലഗാനില്‍ ഭുവനെ പ്രണയിക്കുന്ന ഗൗരി എന്ന കഥാപാത്രത്തെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത് ഗ്രേസി സിംഗ് ആയിരുന്നു). ആ കൂടിക്കാഴ്ചയില്‍ 'കഭി കഭി മേരെ ദില്‍ മേ...' എന്ന ഗാനത്തിലെ ചില വരികളും ആമിര്‍ ഗൗരിക്കായി ആലപിച്ചു.

'എന്റെ 60-ാം വയസ്സില്‍ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നത് എനിക്ക് ചേരുന്നതാണോ എന്ന് എനിക്കറിയില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ എന്റെ മക്കള്‍ വളരെ സന്തോഷത്തിലാണ്. എന്റെ മുന്‍ഭാര്യമാരുമായി ഇത്രയും നല്ല ബന്ധം പുലര്‍ത്താന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞതില്‍ ഞാന്‍ ഭാഗ്യവാനാണ്,' ആമിര്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളോട് പറഞ്ഞു.

'വളരെ സത്യസന്ധമായി പറഞ്ഞാല്‍, എനിക്കൊരു പങ്കാളിയെ കണ്ടെത്താന്‍ ഇനി സാധിക്കില്ലെന്ന് കരുതിയ ഒരു ഘട്ടത്തില്‍ ഞാന്‍ എത്തിയിരുന്നു. ഞാന്‍ ഇത് ഒട്ടും പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല,' ഒരു എച്ച്.ടി പരിപാടിയില്‍ അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.

It was on June 4 that Aamir Khan confirmed the news of his upcoming wedding to Gauri Spratt. Although they have known each other for 25 years, they fell in love only two years ago.

Family and Guests

Aamir's three children and Gauri Spratt's son attended the wedding. Producer Reena Dutta was Aamir's first wife, a marriage from which he has two children, Junaid and Ira Khan. He married director Kiran Rao as his second wife in 2005, but they separated in 2021. They have a son named Azad, whom they are co-parenting. Gauri Spratt has a six-year-old son who stays away from the media spotlight.

The guest list was limited to around 150 people, including relatives who traveled from abroad.

Who is Gauri Spratt?

A native of Bengaluru, Gauri Spratt spent most of her life there. She is the daughter of Rita Spratt, who used to run a salon in Bengaluru. According to her LinkedIn profile, Gauri studied at Blue Mountain School and completed a fashion course from the University of the Arts London in 2004. Currently, she runs a salon in Mumbai.

Aamir Khan on the Simple Wedding

Aamir Khan shared details about his simple wedding, scheduled for July 5, while speaking to the media during the screening of Rajkumar Hirani's series Pritam and Pedro.

"The wedding is on July 5. We are hosting it right at home. It is a very small wedding. The 5th is a very special day for us. Only both families and a few close friends will be present."

He added: "The ceremonies are at home. We just need all your prayers and blessings so that we remain happy and our journey ahead is a good one. It is a very simple and family-oriented affair."

Introducing Gauri on His 60th Birthday

Aamir Khan introduced his partner Gauri to the media for the first time during a press interaction on his 60th birthday.

"Gauri and I met 25 years ago, and now we are partners. We are very serious and committed to each other. We have been together for a year and a half," he said. He also added that he had introduced Gauri to Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan at his Mumbai residence.

Sharing more about Gauri, Aamir said, "Gauri works in the production field. I sing for her every day." Referencing his character Bhuvan from the movie Lagaan, he jokingly added, "Bhuvan has found his Gauri" (in Lagaan, Gracy Singh played the character Gauri, who was in love with Bhuvan). During that meeting, Aamir also sang a few lines of the song "Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein..." for Gauri.

"I don't know if getting married at the age of 60 suits me. But my children are very happy. I am fortunate to be able to maintain such good relations with my ex-wives," Aamir told the media.

On Finding Love at 60

"To be very honest, I had reached a point where I thought I would not be able to find a partner anymore. I didn't expect this at all," he said during an HT event.

"She brings immense calm and stability into my life. She is truly a wonderful person, and I am fortunate to have met her. Even though my past marriages didn't work out, those lives were not failures. I am happy to have had Reena, Kiran, and now Gauri in my life. These are three individuals who have contributed greatly to shaping me as a person. I look up to them with respect in many ways," Aamir Khan concluded.

Over the past year, Aamir and Gauri have made joint appearances at several events, including the Macau International Comedy Festival held in China.
