ശബരിമല: വരാനിരിക്കുന്ന മണ്ഡല-മകരവിളക്ക് തീര്‍ത്ഥാടന കാലത്ത് ശബരിമല തന്ത്രിസ്ഥാനത്തുനിന്ന് തന്നെ ഒഴിവാക്കി മകന് സ്ഥാനം നല്കണമെന്ന കണ്ഠരര് രാജീവരുടെ ആവശ്യം തത്കാലം പരിഗണിക്കേണ്ടെന്നു തിരുവിതാംകൂര്‍ ദേവസ്വം ബോര്‍ഡ് തീരുമാനം. പ്രായധിക്യവും ആരോഗ്യപ്രശ്‌നങ്ങളും മുന്‍നിര്‍ത്തി തന്ത്രി സ്ഥാനത്തുനിന്ന് തന്നെ ഒഴിവാക്കണമെന്നും പകരം മകന്‍ കണ്ഠരര് ബ്രഹ്മദത്തന് ചുമതല നല്‍കണമെന്നുമാണ് തിരുവിതാംകൂര്‍ ദേവസ്വം ബോര്‍ഡിന് നല്കിയ കത്തിലെ ആവശ്യം.

അപേക്ഷയില്‍ നേരിട്ട് തീരുമാനമെടുക്കുന്നതിന് പകരം ഹൈക്കോടതിയുടെ നിയമോപദേശം തേടാന്‍ തിരുവിതാംകൂര്‍ ദേവസ്വം ബോര്‍ഡ് തീരുമാനിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്. തീര്‍ത്ഥാടന കാലത്തെ മുന്നൊരുക്കങ്ങള്‍ വിലയിരുത്താന്‍ ചേര്‍ന്ന പ്രത്യേക ദേവസ്വം ബോര്‍ഡ് യോഗത്തിലാണ് ഈ കാര്യത്തില്‍ ഹൈക്കോടതിയുടെ അഭിപ്രായം തേടാന്‍ തീരുമാനമായത്.

വിഷയം ഹൈക്കോടതിയുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയില്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയ ശേഷമായിരിക്കും അന്തിമ തീരുമാനമെടുക്കുക എന്ന് തിരുവിതാംകൂര്‍ ദേവസ്വം ബോര്‍ഡ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് കെ. ജയകുമാര്‍ അറിയിച്ചു. കൂടാതെ, ശബരിമല, മാളികപ്പുറം മേല്‍ശാന്തി അഭിമുഖങ്ങളില്‍ തന്ത്രിയെന്ന നിലയില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കേണ്ടതും കണ്ഠരര് രാജീവരാണ്. ഇതിലും ബോര്‍ഡ് ഇതുവരെ അന്തിമ തീരുമാനത്തില്‍ എത്തിയിട്ടില്ല.

ശബരിമല തന്ത്രിസ്ഥാനവും അതിന്റെ ഊഴവും താഴമണ്‍ മഠം കുടുംബത്തിലെ അവകാശങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടതാണ്. കണ്ഠരര് രാജീവരുടെ ഊഴത്തില്‍ മകനെ നിയമിക്കണമെന്ന ആവശ്യത്തില്‍ ബോര്‍ഡ് നേരിട്ട് തീരുമാനമെടുത്താല്‍ അത് വലിയ നിയമപരമായ പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ക്കോ അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ മറ്റ് വിവാദങ്ങള്‍ക്കോ വഴിമാറാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്. ഈ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിലാണ് വിഷയം കോടതിയുടെ മുന്നിലേക്ക് വിടാനും ഹൈക്കോടതി നിര്‍ദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നതനുസരിച്ച് മുന്നോട്ട് പോകാനും ദേവസ്വം ബോര്‍ഡ് തീരുമാനിച്ചത്.

ശാരീരിക ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുകള്‍ കാരണം മലകയറുന്നതിനും ദീര്‍ഘനേരം നീണ്ടുനില്‍ക്കുന്ന പൂജാകര്‍മ്മങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നതിനുമുള്ള പ്രയാസമുണ്ടെന്നുമാണ് കത്തില്‍ കാരണമായി പറയുന്നത്.

ശബരിമലയിലെ താഴമണ്‍ മഠത്തിലെ ആചാരപ്രകാരവും കുടുംബപരമായ അവകാശക്രമങ്ങള്‍ അനുസരിച്ചുമാണ് മകന് ചുമതല കൈമാറാന്‍ അനുമതി തേടുന്നത്.

ഔദ്യോഗികമായി അനാരോഗ്യം ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണിച്ചാണ് കത്ത് നല്‍കിയിട്ടുള്ളതെങ്കിലും, 'ശബരിമല സ്വര്‍ണ്ണക്കൊള്ള കേസില്‍' പ്രതിയായ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിലാണ് ഈ നീക്കമെന്ന് ചില റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍ പറയുന്നു.

ശബരിമലയിലെ പരമ്പരാഗത താന്ത്രികാവകാശമുള്ള താഴമണ്‍ മഠത്തിലെ തന്ത്രിമാരുടെ ഊഴമനുസരിച്ച് ഈ സീസണില്‍ പൂജാകര്‍മ്മങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്യേണ്ടത് കണ്ഠരര് രാജീവരായിരുന്നു.

താഴമണ്‍ മഠത്തില്‍ നേരത്തെ തന്ത്രിസ്ഥാനം വഹിച്ചിരുന്ന കണ്ഠരര് മോഹനര് മാറി പകരം മകന്‍ കണ്ഠരര് മഹേഷ് മോഹനര്‍ക്ക് ചുമതല കൈമാറിയിരുന്നു. ഇതിന് പിന്നാലെയാണ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ രാജീവരും മകനെ തല്‍സ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് നാമനിര്‍ദ്ദേശം ചെയ്ത് കത്ത് നല്‍കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.

താഴമണ്‍ മഠത്തിലെ രണ്ട് കുടുംബങ്ങളാണ് മാറിമാറി ഓരോ വര്‍ഷവും ശബരിമലയിലെ തന്ത്രി അവകാശങ്ങള്‍ നിര്‍വഹിക്കുന്നത്.ഓരോ വര്‍ഷവും ചിങ്ങമാസത്തിലാണ് തന്ത്രിമാരുടെ വാര്‍ഷിക ചുമതലാ കൈമാറ്റം നടക്കാറുള്ളത്. 

രാജീവരുടെയും ബിന്ദുവിന്റെയും മകനായ ബ്രഹ്മദത്തന്‍ നിയമബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദധാരി കൂടിയാണ്. ആഗോള കണ്‍സള്‍ട്ടിങ് കമ്പനിയായ 'ഡെലോയിറ്റ്' ന്റെ ലീഗല്‍ വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനായിരുന്നു ബ്രഹ്മദത്തന്‍. തന്ത്രി ചുമതലകളില്‍ പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായും ശ്രദ്ധ കേന്ദ്രീകരിക്കുന്നതിനായി ഒരു വര്‍ഷം മുന്‍പ് അദ്ദേഹം ജോലി രാജിവയ്ക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

എട്ടാം വയസ്സു മുതല്‍ പൂജാവിധികള്‍ പഠിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയ ബ്രഹ്മദത്തന്‍, ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ആചാരങ്ങളും അനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങളും കൂടുതല്‍ ആഴത്തില്‍ മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നതിനായി കഴിഞ്ഞ വര്‍ഷങ്ങളില്‍ അച്ഛനൊപ്പം ശബരിമലയിലെത്തി ചടങ്ങുകളില്‍ പങ്കാളിയായിരുന്നു.

Summary:  The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) has decided not to consider for the time being the request made by Sabarimala Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru to excuse him from his duties for the upcoming Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season and to appoint his son in his place. Citing advanced age and health issues, Rajeevaru had submitted a letter to the TDB requesting exemption from the Tantri post and asking that the responsibility be handed over to his son, Kandararu Brahmadathan.

Instead of making a direct decision on the application, the Travancore Devaswom Board has resolved to seek legal advice from the High Court. This decision to consult the High Court was taken during a special board meeting convened to review preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage season.

TDB President K. Jayakumar stated that a final decision would only be made after bringing the matter to the attention of the High Court. Furthermore, Kandararu Rajeevaru is also expected to participate in the interview process for selecting the new Melsanthis (chief priests) of Sabarimala and Malikappuram in his capacity as Tantri. The Board has not reached a final decision on this matter either.

The position and rotational turns of the Sabarimala Tantri are tied to the hereditary rights of the Thazhamon Madom family. If the Board were to make a direct decision regarding the request to appoint the son during Kandararu Rajeevaru's designated turn, it could potentially lead to serious legal complications or other controversies. Against this backdrop, the Devaswom Board decided to refer the matter to the court and proceed based on the High Court's directives.

In his letter, Rajeevaru cited physical difficulties as the reason, noting that he faces challenges in climbing the hill and performing long, drawn-out ritualistic poojas. He sought permission to transfer the responsibility to his son in accordance with the traditions and family customary rights of the Thazhamon Madom at Sabarimala.

Although the letter officially points to poor health, certain reports suggest that this move comes in the wake of him being named an accused in the "Sabarimala Gold Scam Case." According to the rotational system followed by the Tantris of Thazhamon Madom—who hold the traditional tantric rights at Sabarimala—it was Kandararu Rajeevaru’s turn to perform the rituals this season.

Previously, Kandararu Mohanaru, who held the Tantri position within the Thazhamon Madom, had stepped aside to hand over the responsibility to his son, Kandararu Mahesh Mohanaru. Following in those footsteps, Rajeevaru has now submitted a letter nominating his son to the position.

Brahmadathan, the son of Rajeevaru and Bindu, is also a postgraduate degree holder in Law (LLM). Two branches of the Thazhamon Madom family alternately manage the tantric rights at Sabarimala every year. The annual handover of these responsibilities between the Tantris typically takes place during the Malayalam month of Chingam.

Brahmadathan was previously employed in the legal division of the global consulting firm Deloitte. He resigned from his job a year ago to focus entirely on his duties as a Tantri. Having started learning pooja rituals at the age of eight, Brahmadathan had accompanied his father to Sabarimala over the past few years to participate in the ceremonies and gain a deeper understanding of the temple’s customs and rituals.
