ന്യൂഡല്‍ഹി : ഗള്‍ഫ് മേഖലയില്‍ എണ്ണക്കപ്പലിന് നേരെ ഉണ്ടായ അമേരിക്കന്‍ ആക്രമണത്തില്‍ മൂന്ന് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ നാവികര്‍ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടതായി കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചു. 

പലാവു പതാക വഹിച്ച 'എംടി സെറ്റെബെല്ലോ' എന്ന എണ്ണക്കപ്പലിന് നേരെയാണ് യുഎസ് യുദ്ധവിമാനങ്ങള്‍ ആക്രമണം നടത്തിയത്. നിര്‍ദ്ദേശങ്ങള്‍ പാലിക്കാന്‍ കപ്പലിലെ ജീവനക്കാര്‍ കൂട്ടാക്കാതിരുന്നതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് കപ്പലിന്റെ എഞ്ചിന്‍ റൂമിന് നേരെ കൃത്യമായ ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയുള്ള വെടിവയ്പ്പ് നടത്തുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് യുഎസ് സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ കമാന്‍ഡ് പറയുന്നു. ഇറാനില്‍ നിന്ന് എണ്ണ കടത്താന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ച്, നിലവിലുള്ള നാവിക ഉപരോധം ലംഘിച്ചതിനാണ് കപ്പല്‍ ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ടതെന്ന് യുഎസ് മിലിട്ടറി പറയുന്നു.

24 ഇന്ത്യക്കാര്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ 28 ജീവനക്കാരാണ് കപ്പലില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. ഒമാന്‍ അധികൃതരുമായി ഏകോപിപ്പിച്ച് നടത്തിയ രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തില്‍ 21 ഇന്ത്യന്‍ നാവികരെ സുരക്ഷിതമായി രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തിയെങ്കിലും, കാണാതായ മൂന്ന് പേര്‍ മരിച്ചതായി കേന്ദ്ര ഷിപ്പിംഗ് മന്ത്രി സര്‍ബാനന്ദ സോനോവാള്‍ സ്ഥിരീകരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

കേന്ദ്ര തുറമുഖ-കപ്പല്‍ ഗതാഗത മന്ത്രാലയം പുറത്തുവിട്ട വിവരങ്ങള്‍ പ്രകാരം മരണപ്പെട്ട ഇന്ത്യന്‍ നാവികര്‍ ഇവരാണ്:

മേഖലയിലെ വഷളായിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന സുരക്ഷാ സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍ കടുത്ത ആശങ്ക രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ വിദേശകാര്യ മന്ത്രാലയം, വാണിജ്യ കപ്പലുകളെ ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ടുള്ള ആക്രമണത്തെ ശക്തമായി അപലപിച്ചു.

നിഷ്‌കളങ്കരായ സിവിലിയന്‍ നാവികരുടെ ജീവന്‍ സംരക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടണമെന്ന് ഊന്നിപ്പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് ഇന്ത്യ, യുഎസ് ചാര്‍ജ് ഡി അഫയേഴ്സ് ജേസണ്‍ മീക്സിനെ വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തി ശക്തമായ പ്രതിഷേധം അറിയിച്ചു.

മൃതദേഹങ്ങള്‍ അടിയന്തരമായി നാട്ടിലെത്തിക്കാനും, രക്ഷപ്പെട്ട 21 ജീവനക്കാരെ സുരക്ഷിതമായി തിരിച്ചെത്തിക്കാനും പ്രാദേശിക അധികാരികളുമായി ഏകോപിച്ച് ആവശ്യമായ നടപടികള്‍ സ്വീകരിച്ചു വരുന്നതായി കേന്ദ്രമന്ത്രി സര്‍ബാനന്ദ സോനോവാള്‍ അറിയിച്ചു.

ടാങ്കറിനു നേരേ വീണ്ടും അമേരിക്കന്‍ ആക്രമണം, 20 ഇന്ത്യക്കാരെ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തി

ഗള്‍ഫ് ഒഫ് ഒമാനില്‍ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ജീവനക്കാരുള്ള എണ്ണക്കപ്പലായ 'എം.ടി ജല്‍വീറിന്' നേരെ അമേരിക്കന്‍ സൈന്യം രണ്ട് ഹെല്‍ഫയര്‍ മിസൈലുകള്‍ പ്രയോഗിച്ചു. കപ്പലിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന 20 ഇന്ത്യന്‍ നാവികരെയും സുരക്ഷിതമായി രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. 

നാല് ദിവസത്തിനിടെ ഗള്‍ഫ് ഒഫ് ഒമാനില്‍ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ജീവനക്കാരുള്ള ഒരു കപ്പലിന് നേരെ നടക്കുന്ന മൂന്നാമത്തെ ആക്രമണമാണിത്. ഇറാനെതിരെയുള്ള ഉപരോധം എല്ലാ രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെയും കപ്പലുകള്‍ക്കെതിരെ ഒരേപോലെ (വിവേചനരഹിതമായി) നടപ്പാക്കുകയാണെന്ന് യു.എസ് വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

പലാവു പതാകയേന്തിയ എം.ടി ജല്‍വീര്‍, ഇറാനില്‍ നിന്ന് ഗള്‍ഫ് ഒഫ് ഒമാന്‍ വഴി എണ്ണ കടത്താന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് യു.എസ് സൈന്യം മിസൈലുകള്‍ തൊടുത്തത്. വ്യാഴാഴ്ചയാണ് എം.ടി ജല്‍വീറിന് നേരെ ആക്രമണമുണ്ടായത്. ആക്രമണത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് കപ്പലിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന 20 ഇന്ത്യന്‍ നാവികരെയും രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടി വന്നു. 

എല്ലാ രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെയും കപ്പലുകള്‍ക്കെതിരെ ഉപരോധം വിവേചനരഹിതമായി നടപ്പാക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായാണ് ഈ നടപടിയെന്ന് യു.എസ് അറിയിച്ചു. യു.എസ് എയര്‍ക്രാഫ്റ്റില്‍ നിന്നാണ് കപ്പലിന്റെ എഞ്ചിന്‍ റൂമിലേക്ക് ഹെല്‍ഫയര്‍ മിസൈലുകള്‍ തൊടുത്തതെന്ന് ഫ്‌ലോറിഡയില്‍ നിന്ന് യു.എസ് സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ കമാന്‍ഡ് പുറത്തിറക്കിയ പ്രസ്താവനയില്‍ പറയുന്നു.

'ഇറാനില്‍ നിന്ന് ഗള്‍ഫ് ഒഫ് ഒമാന്‍ വഴി എണ്ണ കടത്താന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ച ഗിനിയ-ബിസൗ പതാകയേന്തിയ എം.ടി ജല്‍വീറിന് എതിരെയാണ് യു.എസ് സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ കമാന്‍ഡ് ആക്രമണം നടത്തിയത്. യു.എസ് സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ നിര്‍ദ്ദേശങ്ങള്‍ പാലിക്കാന്‍ കപ്പലിലെ ജീവനക്കാര്‍ ആവര്‍ത്തിച്ച് വിസമ്മതിച്ചതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് യു.എസ് വിമാനം കപ്പലിന്റെ എഞ്ചിന്‍ റൂമിലേക്ക് രണ്ട് ഹെല്‍ഫയര്‍ മിസൈലുകള്‍ തൊടുത്തു,' പ്രസ്താവനയില്‍ പറയുന്നു. 

ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങള്‍ കൃത്യമായി തകര്‍ക്കാന്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന അമേരിക്കന്‍ എയര്‍-ടു-ഗ്രൗണ്ട് മിസൈലുകളാണ് ഹെല്‍ഫയര്‍ മിസൈലുകള്‍. ഇറാനിയന്‍ തുറമുഖങ്ങളിലും ഗള്‍ഫ് ഒഫ് ഒമാനിലും പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നതോ പുറപ്പെടുന്നതോ ആയ എല്ലാ രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെയും കപ്പലുകള്‍ക്കെതിരെ ഈ ഉപരോധം ഒരേപോലെ ബാധകമാണെന്ന് സെന്റകോം കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു. 

ഇറാനില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള എണ്ണക്കപ്പലുകള്‍ പുറത്തുപോകാതിരിക്കാന്‍ ഗള്‍ഫ് ഒഫ് ഒമാനില്‍ യു.എസ് ശക്തമായ ഉപരോധമാണ് ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.

US fighter jets targeted the Palau-flagged oil tanker, MT Settebello. According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), American forces launched a precision strike on the vessel's engine room after the crew repeatedly refused to comply with instructions. The US military stated that the vessel was targeted for violating an active naval blockade by attempting to smuggle oil from Iran.

The ship had 28 crew members on board, including 24 Indian nationals. While 21 Indian sailors were safely rescued in a coordinated operation with Omani authorities, Union Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal confirmed that the three crew members who were initially reported missing have died.

According to data released by the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, the deceased Indian sailors are:

Patnala Suresh (Chief Engineer)

Shivanand Chaurasiya (Engine Fitter)

Aditya Sharma (Deck Cadet)

Expressing deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in the region, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) strongly condemned the targeting of commercial vessels.

Emphasizing that the lives of innocent civilian seafarers must be protected, India summoned the US Charge d'Affaires, Jason Meeks, to lodge a strong protest (demarche).

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal stated that the government is coordinating with local authorities to take necessary measures for the swift repatriation of the bodies, as well as the safe return of the 21 surviving crew members.

Another Tanker Attacked by US; 20 Indians Rescued

The US military has fired two Hellfire missiles at MT Jalveer, another oil tanker with an Indian crew in the Gulf of Oman. All 20 Indian sailors on board have been safely rescued.

This marks the third attack within four days on a vessel carrying an Indian crew in the Gulf of Oman. The United States clarified that the blockade against Iran is being enforced indiscriminately across vessels from all nations.

The US military launched the missiles as the Guinea-Bissau-flagged MT Jalveer (previously cited as Palau-flagged) attempted to transport oil from Iran through the Gulf of Oman. The attack took place on Thursday, forcing the evacuation and rescue of the 20 Indian sailors on board.

The US stated that the action was part of an indiscriminate enforcement of sanctions against all countries. A statement issued by the US Central Command from Florida noted that Hellfire missiles were launched from a US aircraft into the vessel's engine room.

"US Central Command forces conducted a strike against the Guinea-Bissau-flagged vessel MT Jalveer, which was attempting to transport oil from Iran through the Gulf of Oman. Following the crew's repeated refusal to comply with instructions from US military forces, a US aircraft fired two Hellfire missiles into the ship's engine room," the statement read.

Hellfire missiles are American air-to-ground munitions used for precision strikes. CENTCOM added that these restrictions apply equally to vessels from all nations entering or departing Iranian ports and the Gulf of Oman.

The US has maintained a strict naval blockade in the Gulf of Oman to prevent oil tankers from leaving Iran.
