News in English: New Zealand secured a 7-wicket victory in the fifth and final T20 international. An explosive half-century by Tim Seifert (93) and Glenn Phillips’ unbeaten 65 paved the way for the Kiwis' win. Despite suffering defeat, India clinched the 5-2 five-match series based on their victories in the earlier matches.

Sent in to bat, India suffered early setbacks. Openers Abhishek Sharma (1) and Sanju Samson (4) were dismissed within the first four overs.

Following this, a counterattack by Ishan Kishan and captain Shreyas Iyer for the third wicket breathed life into the Indian innings. The pair added 93 runs off just 45 balls:

Ishan Kishan: 61 runs (32 balls, 5 fours, 5 sixes)

Shreyas Iyer: 50 runs (23 balls, 3 fours, 4 sixes)

Middle-order contributions from Naman Dhir (33 off 23) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (22 off 17) helped push the score past 150 by the 16th oven. However, Adam Milne’s stellar death-bowling restricted India from reaching a massive total. Milne claimed 4 wickets while conceding just 19 runs in his 4 overs, restricting India to 191/8 in 20 overs.

Seifert and Phillips’ Explosive Batting

Chasing a target of 192, New Zealand lost Finn Allen (2) in the second oven. However, capitalizing on a dropped chance when he was on 11 runs, Tim Seifert launched a fierce assault on the Indian bowlers. Seifert smashed 93 runs off 50 balls, hitting 11 fours and 5 sixes.

With solid support from Glenn Phillips (65* off 38) and Daryl Mitchell (29 off 16) at the other end, the Kiwis reached the target with two overs to spare. When Phillips hit a four off the final ball of the 18th over to seal the victory, New Zealand's score stood at 195/3.
