കൊച്ചി: നെടുമ്പാശേരി അത്താണി സിഗ്‌നലിനു സമീപം പുലര്‍ച്ചെ അമിത വേഗത്തിലെത്തിയ മിനി കൂപ്പര്‍ ഇടിച്ച് സ്‌കൂട്ടര്‍ യാത്രക്കാരായ യുവാവും രണ്ടു യുവതികളും മരിച്ചു. ഇജാസ് (കര്‍ണാടക സ്വദേശി), ദേവിക (വയനാട് സ്വദേശി), ഗോപിക (പാലക്കാട് സ്വദേശി) എന്നിവരാണ് മരിച്ചത്. 

തൃക്കാക്കരയിലെ ഒരു ഷോപ്പിലെ ജീവനക്കാരാണ് ഇവര്‍ എന്നാണ് പ്രാഥമിക വിവരം. സ്‌കൂട്ടറില്‍ സഞ്ചരിക്കുകയായിരുന്ന സുഹൃത്തുക്കളുടെ പിന്നില്‍ അമിതവേഗത്തിലെത്തിയ മിനി കൂപ്പര്‍ കാര്‍ ഇടിച്ചുകയറിയാണ് അപകടമുണ്ടായത്.

പുലര്‍ച്ചെ രണ്ട് മണിയോടെ വിഐപി റോഡിലെ മൂഴിയാലില്‍ വച്ചായിരുന്നു അപകടം സംഭവിച്ചത്. കൊച്ചിയിലെ ഒരു ആന്റീക് ഷോപ്പിലെ ജീവനക്കാരായ യുവാവും യുവതികളും എയര്‍പോര്‍ട്ട് ഭാഗം സന്ദര്‍ശിച്ചശേഷം തൃക്കാക്കരയിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് ദുരന്തമുണ്ടായത്. അപകടത്തില്‍ മൂന്നുപേരും സംഭവസ്ഥലത്തു തന്നെ മരിച്ചു.

വിമാനത്താവള ഭാഗത്തുനിന്ന് അതിവേഗത്തില്‍ എത്തിയ ആഡംബര കാര്‍ സ്‌കൂട്ടറില്‍ ഇടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് സ്‌കൂട്ടറുമായി കാര്‍ റോഡിലൂടെ നൂറു മീറ്ററോളം മുന്നോട്ട് നിരങ്ങിനീങ്ങി. രണ്ടുപേരുടെ മൃതദേഹങ്ങള്‍ പ്രദേശത്തുള്ള സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രി മോര്‍ച്ചറിയിലും ഒരാളുടേത് അങ്കമാലി താലൂക്ക് ആശുപത്രിയിലുമാണ് സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. 

കാറിന്റെ ഡ്രൈവര്‍ സുഹൈല്‍ സജീവ് ലഹരി ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നതായി സംശയമുണ്ട്. ഓടിരക്ഷപ്പെടാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ച ഡ്രൈവറെയും ഒപ്പമുണ്ടായിരുന്ന യുവാവിനെയും നാട്ടുകാര്‍ പിടികൂടി. 'എന്തുവന്നാലും വീട്ടുകാര്‍ നോക്കും' എന്നായിരുന്നു ഡ്രൈവറുടെ വെല്ലുവിളിയെന്ന് നാട്ടുകാര്‍ പറയുന്നു. കാറില്‍ നിന്നു ലഹരി വസ്തുക്കള്‍ കിട്ടിയതായും നാട്ടുകാര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

നെടുമ്പാശേരി പൊലീസ് കാര്‍ ഡ്രൈവര്‍ സുഹൈല്‍ സജീവിനെ കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. സംഭവത്തില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ അന്വേഷണം പുരോഗമിക്കുന്നു. സുഹൈലിനെതിരെ നരഹത്യയ്ക്ക് കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.

Three people—a young man and two young women traveling on a scooter—were killed after an overspeeding Mini Cooper rammed into them near the Athani signal in Nedumbassery early in the morning. The deceased have been identified as Ijaz (a native of Karnataka), Devika (a native of Wayanad), and Gopika (a native of Palakkad).

According to preliminary reports, the victims were employees of a shop in Thrikkakara. The tragedy occurred when the luxury car, coming at high speed from behind, crashed into the scooter they were riding.

The accident took place around 2:00 AM at Moozhiyal on the VIP Road. The youth and young women, who worked at an antique shop in Kochi, were returning to Thrikkakara after visiting the airport area when the disaster struck. All three died on the spot.

The luxury car, coming at a high speed from the airport direction, slammed into the scooter. Following the impact, the car dragged the scooter along the road for about 100 meters. The bodies of two victims have been kept in the mortuary of a local private hospital, while the other is at the Angamaly Taluk Hospital.

Locals suspect that the car's driver, Suhail Sajeevan, was under the influence of drugs. Locals caught the driver and another young man who were trying to flee the scene. Witnesses reported that the driver arrogantly challenged, "Whatever happens, my family will take care of it." Locals also stated that drug substances were recovered from the car.

The Nedumbassery police have taken the car driver, Suhail Sajeevan, into custody. Further investigations into the incident are underway, and a case of culpable homicide has been registered against him.
