കോഴിക്കോട് : സ്‌പൈനല്‍ മസ്‌കുലര്‍ അട്രോഫി എന്ന അപൂര്‍വ ജനിതകരോഗം ബാധിച്ച ഒറ്റപ്രസവത്തിലെ മൂന്ന് കുരുന്നുകള്‍ ചികിത്സാസഹായം അഭ്യര്‍ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു. കോഴിക്കോട് മുക്കം കല്ലുരുട്ടി പൂത്തിരിച്ചാലില്‍ അരുണ്‍ - ഷാമില്‍ ദമ്പതികളുടെ മക്കളായ ഏഥന്‍സ് മോസസ്, ഡാവിഡ് മാഗ്‌നസ്, ഒലിവര്‍ ജോന എന്നീ കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കാണ് അപൂര്‍വരോഗം ബാധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. 

കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു വയസ്സും 8 മാസവുമാണ് പ്രായം. പേശീബലം ക്രമാതീതമായി ക്ഷയിക്കുന്ന ഈ രോഗം കാരണം കുട്ടികള്‍ ഇരിക്കാനും നടക്കാനും എഴുന്നേല്‍ക്കാനും ശ്വാസമെടുക്കാനും ആഹാരം കഴിക്കാനുമെല്ലാം ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടാണ് നേരിടുന്നത്. ജീന്‍ തെറാപ്പി ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ അതിസങ്കീര്‍ണ്ണമായ വിദഗ്ധ ചികിത്സയ്ക്കായി 50 കോടി രൂപയാണ് ആവശ്യമായി വരുന്നത്.

ഈ ഭീമമായ തുക കണ്ടെത്താനായി ജനകീയ കമ്മിറ്റി രൂപീകരിക്കുകയും ക്രൗഡ് ഫണ്ടിങ് ആരംഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് സി.കെ. കാസിം എം.എല്‍.എ അറിയിച്ചു. കോഴിക്കോട്, വയനാട് എം.പിമാര്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ ജനപ്രതിനിധികളാണ് ഈ ജനകീയ കമ്മിറ്റിയുടെ രക്ഷാധികാരികള്‍. 50 ദിവസത്തിനകം 50 കോടി രൂപ സമാഹരിക്കാനാണ് ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്.

News inEnglish: Triplets diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) are seeking financial assistance for their treatment. Athens Moses, David Magnus, and Oliver Jona—the children of Arun and Shamil, residing at Poothirichal, Kallurutty in Mukkam, Kozhikode—are the ones suffering from this rare condition.

The children are currently 1 year and 8 months old. Due to this disease, which causes severe progressive muscle weakness, the children face difficulties in sitting, walking, standing up, breathing, and eating. An enormous sum of Rs 50 crore is required for expert and highly complex treatment, including gene therapy.

C.K. Khasim MLA informed that a public committee has been formed and crowdfunding has been initiated to raise this huge amount. Public representatives, including the Kozhikode and Wayanad Members of Parliament (MPs), serve as the patrons of this public committee. The goal is to raise Rs 50 crore within 50 days.
