തിരുവനന്തപുരം: തിരുവനന്തപുരം കോര്‍പറേഷന്‍ കൗണ്‍സിലര്‍ സ്ഥാനം ആര്‍. ശ്രീലേഖ രാജിവച്ചെന്ന വാര്‍ത്ത ശരിയല്ലെന്ന് ബിജെപി നേതാവ് എസ്. സുരേഷ്. ശ്രീലേഖ ശാരീരിക പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ കാരണം ആശുപത്രിയിലാണെന്നും ഇക്കാരണത്താല്‍ ജനപ്രതിനിധിയുടെ ചുമതല നിര്‍വഹിക്കാന്‍ ആകുമോ എന്ന ആശങ്ക വേണ്ടപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയില്‍പ്പെടുത്തുക മാത്രമാണുണ്ടായതെന്നും സുരേഷ് ഫേസ് ബുക്കില്‍ പങ്കുവച്ച കുറിപ്പില്‍ പറയുന്നു.

'ശ്രീലേഖ ചേച്ചിയെ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശിച്ചു. കുറച്ചു ദിവസങ്ങളായി ശാരീരിക അസ്വാസ്ഥ്യം അവരെ അലട്ടുന്നു. അതുകാരണം ജനപ്രതിനിധി എന്ന നിലയിലുള്ള ചുമതല വേണ്ടവണ്ണം നിര്‍വ്വഹിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയില്ലേ എന്ന ചിന്തയും ഉത്കണ്ഠയും ഉണ്ട്, അത് ഏറ്റവും വേണ്ടപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയില്‍പ്പെടുത്തി എന്നു മാത്രം, ദൗര്‍ഭാഗ്യവശാല്‍ അത് മാധ്യമ ചര്‍ച്ചക്ക് കാരണമായി. ആര്‍. ശ്രീലേഖ രാജിവച്ചു എന്ന വാര്‍ത്ത ശരിയല്ല.

അവര്‍ മറ്റു രാഷ്ട്രീയപാര്‍ട്ടികളില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നേക്കും, എന്തോ പോസ്റ്റ് കിട്ടാത്തതുകൊണ്ടാണ്, പാര്‍ട്ടിയുമായി വിലപേശുകയാണ് എന്ന നിലയിലൊക്കെ ചില മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ കഥകളുണ്ടാക്കിയത് സമാന്യമര്യാദക്ക് നിരക്കുന്നതല്ല. ചിലര്‍ ബിജെപിയുടെ കോര്‍പറേഷന്‍ ഭരണം ഇപ്പോള്‍ താഴെ പോകും എന്നൊക്കെ ദിവാസ്വപ്നം കണ്ടുതുടങ്ങി. ആ വെള്ളം വാങ്ങിവച്ചോളൂ. അഞ്ചു വര്‍ഷം മാത്രമല്ല തുടര്‍ന്നും തിരുവനന്തപുരം ബിജെപി തന്നെ ഭരിക്കും.

കേരളത്തിലെ ആദ്യവനിതാ ഐപിഎുസുകാരിയും ഡിജിപിയും എന്ന നിലക്ക് അവരെ ശ്രീ. കെ. സുരേന്ദ്രന്‍ ആണ് ബിജെപിയില്‍ ചേര്‍ത്തത്. തുടര്‍ന്ന് പാര്‍ട്ടിയോടുള്ള പ്രതിബദ്ധത അവര്‍ എപ്പോഴും കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. പാര്‍ട്ടി സംസ്ഥാന വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് എന്ന നിലയില്‍ മികവുറ്റ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനമാണ് നടത്തുന്നത്. 

പാര്‍ട്ടി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടപ്പോള്‍ കൗണ്‍സിലര്‍ സ്ഥാനാര്‍ത്ഥിയായി മത്സരിക്കാന്‍ തയ്യാറായതും അവര്‍ക്ക് പാര്‍ട്ടിയോടുള്ള വിധേയത്വം തെളിയിക്കുന്നു. പാര്‍ട്ടിയുടെ മൂന്നു ദിവസം നീണ്ടുനിന്ന ജില്ലാതല പഠനശിബിരത്തില്‍ ഒരു സാധാരണ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകയെ പോലെ ശ്രീലേഖയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അഴിമതിക്കെതിരെ എന്നും പോരാടിയിട്ടുള്ള ആര്‍. ശ്രീലേഖക്ക് അനധികൃത സമ്പാദ്യമൊന്നുമില്ല, സ്വന്തം പെന്‍ഷന്‍ പണമെടുത്താണ് അവര്‍ വാര്‍ഡിലെ ജനങ്ങളെ സേവിക്കുന്നത്.

പരമ്പരാഗത രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാരിയല്ല ആര്‍. ശ്രീലേഖ, അവര്‍ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയാണ്, ഒരു അമ്മയാണ്. അവര്‍ എന്നും ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം സേവനനിരതയായി നിലകൊള്ളും. എത്രയും പെട്ടെന്ന് ആരോഗ്യം വീണ്ടെടുക്കട്ടെ എന്ന് ആശംസിക്കുന്നു.. എന്നോടൊപ്പം സംസ്ഥാന വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് കെ. സോമന്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ജില്ലാ പ്രസിഡന്റ് കരമന ജയനും മേയര്‍ വി.വി. രാജേഷും അവരെ അശുപത്രിയിലെത്തി കണ്ടു.'

Because of this, she expressed worry and anxiety over whether she can properly discharge her duties as a public representative, and merely brought it to the notice of her closest associates. Unfortunately, this became a subject of media debate. The report that R. Sreelekha has resigned is not true.

The stories concocted by certain media outlets—suggesting that she might join other political parties, that she is doing this because she didn't get some post, or that she is bargaining with the party—do not accord with basic decency. Some have even started daydreaming that the BJP's rule in the Corporation will collapse now. Keep those hopes aside. Not just for five years, Thiruvananthapuram will continue to be governed by the BJP.

As Kerala's first woman IPS officer and DGP, it was Shri K. Surendran who inducted her into the BJP. Since then, she has consistently maintained her commitment to the party. She has been performing excellently as a party state vice-president. Her willingness to contest as a councillor candidate when requested by the party proves her loyalty. Sreelekha attended the party’s three-day district-level study camp just like an ordinary worker. Having fought against corruption throughout her career, R. Sreelekha has no illegal wealth; she serves the people of her ward using her own pension money.
