ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റിലൂടെയും വര്‍ഷങ്ങളുടെ പരീക്ഷണങ്ങളിലൂടെയും കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ പിന്തുണയോടെയുമാണ് രവി തംത തന്റെ അറിവ് വളര്‍ത്തിയെടുത്തത്. പഠനം ക്ലാസ് മുറികള്‍ക്ക് അപ്പുറവും തുടരാമെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജീവിതം കാണിച്ചുതരുന്നു.

ജാഗേശ്വര്‍ ധാമിന് അടുത്തുള്ള കാഫ്‌ലിഖാന്‍ ഗ്രാമത്തിലാണ് തംത വളര്‍ന്നത്. മലയോര മേഖലകളിലൂടെയുള്ള യാത്രയിലെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുകള്‍, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് വളഞ്ഞുപുളഞ്ഞ റോഡുകളിലൂടെ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ എത്താനുള്ള പ്രയാസങ്ങള്‍, വ്യക്തിഗത വ്യോമയാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ചിന്തിക്കാന്‍ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചു.

2015-ലാണ് ഒരു പറക്കും കാര്‍ നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുക എന്ന സ്വപ്നം അദ്ദേഹം കണ്ടുതുടങ്ങിയത്. 'ഹപിഡ സ്‌കൈ പ്രൈവറ്റ് ലിമിറ്റഡ്' എന്ന സംരംഭത്തിലൂടെ അദ്ദേഹം ഈ ആശയം വികസിപ്പിച്ചു. റണ്‍വേ ഇല്ലാതെ തന്നെ ലംബമായി ടേക്ക് ഓഫ് ചെയ്യാനും ലാന്‍ഡ് ചെയ്യാനും സാധിക്കുന്ന രീതിയിലാണ് ഈ വാഹനം രൂപകല്‍പ്പന ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. മള്‍ട്ടിറോട്ടര്‍ ഡ്രോണുകള്‍ക്ക് സമാനമായ സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് നിരവധി ഇലക്ട്രിക് മോട്ടോറുകളും പ്രൊപ്പല്ലറുകളും ഇതില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു.

ഭാരം കുറഞ്ഞ ഫ്രെയിം, കോക്ക്പിറ്റ്, സുതാര്യമായ മേല്‍ക്കൂര എന്നിവ ഈ പ്രോട്ടോടൈപ്പിനുണ്ട്. ഇത് ബാറ്ററിയിലാണ് പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നത്. ഏവിയേഷന്‍ ഫ്യുവലോ എഥനോളോ ആവശ്യമായി വരുന്നില്ല. ഈ പരീക്ഷണ പറക്കല്‍ തുടക്കം മാത്രമാണ്, അല്ലാതെ യാത്രക്കാരെ കയറ്റാനോ വാണിജ്യാടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിപ്പിക്കാനോ ഇത് സജ്ജമായി എന്നതിന്റെ തെളിവല്ല.

ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ ജൂനിയര്‍ ഹൈസ്‌കൂളില്‍ പഠിച്ച തംത, പിന്നീട് നൈനിറ്റാള്‍ ക്യാമ്പസില്‍ നിന്ന് ബി.എ ബിരുദം നേടി. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിതാവ് ഹരീഷ് റാം മെക്കാനിക്കാണ്. ഔപചാരിക എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് പരിശീലനമോ പ്രത്യേക ലബോറട്ടറിയോ ഇല്ലാതെ, ഓണ്‍ലൈന്‍ വിവരങ്ങളെയും ആവര്‍ത്തിച്ചുള്ള പരീക്ഷണങ്ങളെയും മാത്രം ആശ്രയിച്ചാണ് തംത തന്റെ ആശയങ്ങള്‍ വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുത്തത്.

മൊബൈല്‍ ഫോണ്‍ ചാര്‍ജ് ചെയ്യുന്ന ഷൂസുകള്‍, കാഴ്ച വൈകല്യമുള്ളവര്‍ക്കായുള്ള സ്മാര്‍ട്ട് വടി, മുള പിളര്‍ക്കുന്ന യന്ത്രം, അഗ്‌നിശമന ഉപകരണങ്ങള്‍ എന്നിവ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മുന്‍കാല നിര്‍മ്മിതികളില്‍ പെടുന്നു. വനംവകുപ്പിനായി ഒരു സ്റ്റിക് മൊബൈല്‍ ചാര്‍ജറും ഫയര്‍ എക്സ്റ്റിംഗുഷറും അദ്ദേഹം വികസിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

Ravi Tamta, a native of Almora district in Uttarakhand, has made a flying car a reality after 13 years of relentless effort. Having no formal education in science or engineering, Ravi developed the prototype of this electric flying vehicle based on online information and his own experiments.

Tamta grew up in Kaflikhan village near Jageshwar Dham. The difficulties of traveling through hilly terrain—especially the struggle to reach a hospital through winding roads—inspired him to think about personal aviation.

He began dreaming of building a flying car in 2015. He developed this concept through his startup, 'Hapida Sky Private Limited.' The vehicle is designed to take off and land vertically without the need for a runway. Utilizing technology similar to multi-rotor drones, it operates using multiple electric motors and propellers.

This prototype features a lightweight frame, a cockpit, and a transparent canopy. It runs on a battery, requiring neither aviation fuel nor ethanol. This test flight is merely a beginning and does not mean the vehicle is ready to carry passengers or operate commercially.

Tamta studied at the village junior high school and later earned a BA degree from the Nainital campus. His father, Harish Ram, is a mechanic. Without formal engineering training or a specialized laboratory, Tamta developed his ideas relying solely on online information and repetitive experimentation.

Complex questions are being raised regarding the design, battery capacity, stability, and safety of the vehicle. All of these require rigorous testing and technical validation.

The 'Hapida Skynex' is not Tamta's first invention. He has previously built several things to solve everyday problems.

His past creations include shoes that charge mobile phones, a smart walking stick for the visually impaired, a bamboo-splitting machine, and fire extinguishers. He has also developed a stick mobile charger and a fire extinguisher for the forest department.

The flying car aims to speed up short-distance travel through difficult terrains and provide assistance in remote areas and medical emergencies. However, before it becomes fully operational, approvals from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and further testing are required.
