ന്യൂഡൽഹി: ഏഷ്യൻ ഗെയിംസിൽ 10 മീറ്റർ എയർ റൈഫിൾ ഷൂട്ടിങ് ടീം ഇനത്തിൽ വെള്ളി മെഡൽ നേടി മലയാളി താരം വിദർശ കെ. വിനോദ് ചരിത്രനേട്ടം കുറിച്ചു. ഏഷ്യൻ ഗെയിംസ് ഷൂട്ടിങ് ചരിത്രത്തിൽ മെഡൽ നേടുന്ന ആദ്യ മലയാളി താരമാണ് വിദർശ.

കോഴിക്കോട് തിരുവമ്പാടി സ്വദേശിനിയാണ് വിദർശ കെ. വിനോദ്. വനിതകളുടെ 10 മീറ്റർ എയർ റൈഫിൾ ടീം ഇനത്തിൽ ഇളവേനിൽ വാളറിവൻ, സോനം മാസ്കർ എന്നിവരടങ്ങുന്ന ഇന്ത്യൻ ടീമിനൊപ്പമാണ് വിദർശ വെള്ളി മെഡൽ നേടിയത്.

മത്സരത്തിൽ ചൈന സ്വർണവും (1904.2 പോയിന്റ്) ഇന്ത്യൻ ടീം വെള്ളിയും (1898.0 പോയിന്റ്) ജപ്പാൻ വെങ്കലവും കരസ്ഥമാക്കി.

Malayali athlete Vidarsha K. Vinod created history by winning a silver medal in the 10-meter air rifle shooting team event at the Asian Games. Vidarsha is the first Malayali athlete to win a medal in the history of Asian Games shooting.

Vidarsha K. Vinod is a native of Thiruvambadi in Kozhikode. She won the silver medal alongside teammates Elavenil Valarivan and Sonam Maskar in the women's 10-meter air rifle team event.
