ചെന്നൈ: തൃഷ കൃഷ്ണനെ പ്രധാന കഥാപാത്രമാക്കി ബോളിവുഡ് ചിത്രം 'എയര്‍ലിഫ്റ്റ്' സംവിധായകന്‍ രാജാ കൃഷ്ണ മേനോന്‍ തമിഴിലേക്ക് അരങ്ങേറ്റം കുറിക്കുന്നു. ഇതുവരെ പേരിട്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത സൈക്കോളജിക്കല്‍ ഹൊറര്‍-ത്രില്ലര്‍ ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ചിത്രീകരണം ലണ്ടനില്‍ ആരംഭിച്ചു.  

വനിതാ കേന്ദ്രീകൃത ചിത്രമാണെന്നാണ് വിവരം. തൃഷയോടൊപ്പം മുതിര്‍ന്ന നടി രാധികാ ശരത്കുമാറും ദേശീയ അവാര്‍ഡ് ജേതാവ് അപര്‍ണാ ബാലമുരളിയും പ്രധാന വേഷങ്ങളില്‍ എത്തുന്നു.  

അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിനും കഥാപാത്രങ്ങള്‍ക്കും പ്രാധാന്യം നല്‍കുന്ന ഡാര്‍ക്ക് സൈക്കോളജിക്കല്‍ ത്രില്ലറായിരിക്കും ഇതെന്ന് രാജാ കൃഷ്ണ മേനോന്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ഇത് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യ തമിഴ് ചിത്രവും ആദ്യ ഹൊറര്‍ സിനിമയുമാണ്.  

പൂജാ ചടങ്ങുകള്‍ക്കു ശേഷം ലണ്ടനില്‍ ചിത്രീകരണം പുരോഗമിക്കുന്നു.  'ദൃശ്യം', 'സൈത്താന്‍' തുടങ്ങിയ സിനിമകള്‍ നിര്‍മ്മിച്ച ബോളിവുഡിലെ പ്രമുഖ പ്രൊഡക്ഷന്‍ ഹൗസായ പാനോരമ സ്റ്റുഡിയോസ് ലോക്കോമോട്ടീവ് ഗ്ലോബലുമായി ചേര്‍ന്ന് തമിഴില്‍ ചെയ്യുന്ന ആദ്യ ചിത്രമാണിത്.

തമിഴിലെ എന്റെ ആദ്യ ചിത്രം, ആദ്യ സൈക്കോളജിക്കല്‍ ഹൊറര്‍, പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായും സ്ത്രീകള്‍ കേന്ദ്രീകൃതമായ കഥ... ഇതെല്ലാം എനിക്ക് പുതിയ അനുഭവമാണ്, രാജാ കൃഷ്ണ മേനോന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

സൂര്യയ്‌ക്കൊപ്പം അഭിനയിച്ച 'കറുപ്പ്' എന്ന സിനിമയുടെ വന്‍ വിജയത്തിന് ശേഷമാണ് തൃഷ ഈ ചിത്രത്തില്‍ ജോയിന്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ചിരഞ്ജീവിയുടെ തെലുങ്ക് ചിത്രമായ 'വിശ്വംഭര'യും തൃഷയുടേതായി പുറത്തിറങ്ങാനുണ്ട്. 

അന്തരിച്ച മലയാള നടന്‍ ടിപി മാധവന്റെ മകനാണ് രാജാകൃഷ്ണ മേനോന്‍. പരസ്യ ചിത്രങ്ങളിലൂടെയാണ് അദ്ദേഹം സിനിമയിലെത്തിയത്. എയര്‍ലിഫ്റ്റ് (2016), ഷെഫ് (2017), ബരാ ആന (2009), ബസ് യുന്‍ ഹായ് (2003), പിപ്പ (2023) എന്നിവയാണ് രാജാകൃഷ്ണ മേനോന്റെ മറ്റു ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍.

Director Raja Krishna Menon, known for the Bollywood film Airlift, is making his Tamil directorial debut with a new project starring Trisha Krishnan in the lead role. The shoot for this untitled psychological horror-thriller has officially commenced in London.

The film is reported to be female-centric. Alongside Trisha, veteran actress Radhika Sarathkumar and National Award winner Aparna Balamurali play key roles.

Raja Krishna Menon stated that the film will be a dark psychological thriller with a strong emphasis on atmosphere and character development. This marks both his first Tamil film and his first foray into the horror genre.

Following a traditional launch ceremony, filming is currently underway in London. This project also marks the Tamil cinema debut for Panorama Studios—the prominent Bollywood banner behind films like Drishyam and Shaitaan—co-producing alongside Locomotive Global.

"My first film in Tamil, my first psychological horror, and a completely female-centric story... everything about this is a new experience for me," said Raja Krishna Menon.

Trisha joins the set following the massive success of her film Karuppu alongside Suriya. She is also awaiting the release of her Telugu film Vishwambhara, starring Chiranjeevi.

Raja Krishna Menon is the son of the late Malayalam actor T.P. Madhavan. He entered the film industry through advertising and has previously directed films such as Bas Yun Hi (2003), Barah Aana (2009), Airlift (2016), Chef (2017), and Pippa (2023).
