കരിയിലയുടെ പേരിൽ കൊല്ലത്ത് ജീവനക്കാരനെ മർദ്ദിച്ചു കൊന്ന റിസോർട്ട് ഉടമ അറസ്‌റ്റിൽ

കൊല്ലം : കൊല്ലം താന്നിയിലെ സ്വകാര്യ റിസോർട്ടിൽ ജീവനക്കാരനായ റോജർ ആംഗസ് നെപ്പോളിയനെ (42) മദ്യലഹരിയിൽ   മർദിച്ച് കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയ കേസിൽ റിസോർട്ട് ഉടമ യോഹന്നാനെ ഇരവിപുരം പൊലീസ് അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തു. 

സംഭവത്തിനു ശേഷം വിദേശത്തേക്ക് കടന്ന പ്രതി തിരിച്ചെത്തിയപ്പോൾ തിരുവനന്തപുരം വിമാനത്താവളത്തിൽ വച്ച് പൊലീസിന്റെ പിടിയിലായിലാവുകയായിരുന്നു.
പുല്ലിച്ചിറ സ്വദേശിയായ റോജർ ആഗ്നസ് (45) കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട കേസിൽ സംഭവത്തിന് തൊട്ടുപിന്നാലെ യോഹന്നാൻ വിദേശത്തേക്ക് കടന്നിരുന്നു.

ജൂലായ് ഏഴിനാണ് റോജർ ആഗ്നസിന് റിസോർട്ട് ഉടമയിൽ നിന്ന് ക്രൂരമായ മർദനമേറ്റത്. റിസോർട്ടിന് സമീപം കരിയിലകൾ കൂട്ടിയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്തിനാണെന്ന് ചോദിച്ച് യോഹന്നാൻ റോജറിന്റെ മുഖത്തടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് ബന്ധുക്കൾ പറഞ്ഞു. മർദ്ദനത്തിൽ തലക്കും പരിക്കേറ്റു.

തുടർന്ന് മയ്യനാട്ടെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ചികിത്സ തേടിയ റോജർ, മൂന്ന് ദിവസത്തെ അവധിക്ക് ശേഷം വീണ്ടും ജോലിയിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചു.

ജൂലായ് 14ന് കടുത്ത തലവേദന അനുഭവപ്പെട്ടതിനെ തുടർന്ന് റോജറിനെ കൊട്ടിയത്തെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. ആശുപത്രിയിൽ നിന്ന് ഡിസ്ചാർജ് ആയെങ്കിലും  24ന് വീട്ടിൽ അവശനിലയിൽ കണ്ടെത്തിയ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ വീണ്ടും കൊട്ടിയത്തെ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ എത്തിച്ച് അടിയന്തര ശസ്ത്രക്രിയയ്ക്ക് വിധേയനാക്കി.

ചികിത്സയിലിരിക്കെ വ്യാഴാഴ്ച പുലർച്ചെയോടെ മരിച്ചു. പോസ്റ്റ്‌മോർട്ടം റിപ്പോർട്ടിൽ മർദനത്തിൽ ശരീരത്തിലേറ്റ ഗുരുതരമായ പരിക്കുകളാണ് മരണകാരണമെന്ന് വ്യക്തമായിട്ടുണ്ട്.

റോജറിനെ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ  തന്നെ ബന്ധുക്കൾ ഇരവിപുരം പൊലീസിൽ പരാതി നൽകിയിരുന്നു. അന്വേഷണത്തിനായി പൊലീസ് റിസോർട്ടിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ തെളിവ് നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി സിസിടിവി ദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ നീക്കം ചെയ്തതായും കണ്ടെത്തി. തുടർന്ന് നടത്തിയ അന്വേഷണത്തിലാണ് ഒളിവിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്ന പ്രതി പിടിയിലായത്.

News in English: The Iravipuram police have arrested Yohannan, the owner of a private resort in Thanni, Kollam, in connection with the murder of his employee, Roger Angus Napoleon (42), who was beaten to death while under the influence of alcohol.

The accused, Yohannan, had fled abroad immediately after the incident and was apprehended by the police at the Thiruvananthapuram airport upon his return. Roger Angus (45), a native of Pullichira, was the victim of the case.

The brutal assault by the resort owner took place on July 7. According to relatives, Yohannan slapped Roger across the face after questioning him about why dry leaves had been piled up near the resort. Roger also sustained head injuries during the beating.

Following the assault, Roger sought treatment at a private hospital in Mayyanad and rejoined work after a three-day leave.

On July 14, after experiencing severe headaches, Roger was admitted to a private hospital in Kottiyam. Although he was discharged from the hospital, he was found in a debilitated state at home on the 24th and was rushed back to the Kottiyam hospital for emergency surgery.

He passed away in the early hours of Thursday while undergoing treatment. The post-mortem report confirmed that severe injuries sustained on his body during the assault were the cause of death.

Relatives had filed a complaint with the Iravipuram police as soon as Roger was admitted to the hospital. When the police arrived at the resort to investigate, they discovered that CCTV footage had been deleted as part of an attempt to destroy evidence. Following a subsequent investigation, the hiding accused was finally brought into custody.
