8 Engineering Students Killed in Tragic Accident After Car Crashes into Parked Lorry in Thrissur

തൃശൂര്‍ : തൃശൂര്‍ കൈപമംഗലം പനമ്പിക്കുന്ന് സെന്ററില്‍ ഉണ്ടായ വാഹനാപകടത്തില്‍ എട്ട് പേര്‍ മരിച്ചു. ഡിണ്ടിഗലില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള എഞ്ചിനീയറിങ് വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികളാണ് അപകടത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ടത്.

ഡിണ്ടിഗലിലെ പിഎസ്എന്‍എ എഞ്ചിനീറിങ് കോളേജ് വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ക്കാണ് ദാരുണാന്ത്യം സംഭവിച്ചത്. സേലം സ്വദേശി വിശ്വ (20), ദിണ്ടിഗല്‍ സ്വദേശി സൂര്യ (20), മധുര സ്വദേശി സന്തോഷ് (20), മധുര സ്വദേശി പ്രസന്ന, ദിണ്ടിഗല്‍ സ്വദേശി യുവസഞ്ജിത് (20) എന്നിവരെ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു. 

വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച അര്‍ദ്ധരാത്രിയോടെ, ദേശീയപാത വികസനം നടക്കുന്ന കൈപമംഗലം പനമ്പിക്കുന്ന് സെന്ററിലായിരുന്നു അപകടം. ഗുരുവായൂര്‍ ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നു കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂര്‍ ഭാഗത്തേക്ക് അമിതവേഗതയില്‍ സഞ്ചരിച്ചിരുന്ന തമിഴ്‌നാട് രജിസ്‌ട്രേഷനിലുള്ള കാര്‍, റോഡരികില്‍ നിര്‍ത്തിയിട്ടിരുന്ന മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര രജിസ്‌ട്രേഷന്‍ ലോറിയുടെ പിന്നിലേക്ക് ഇടിച്ചു കയറുകയായിരുന്നു.

കാറിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന എട്ടുപേരും സംഭവസ്ഥലത്തുതന്നെ മരിച്ചു. ഇതില്‍ ഏഴുപേര്‍ ഡിണ്ടിഗലില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള എഞ്ചിനീയറിങ് വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികളാണെന്നാണ് പ്രാഥമിക വിവരങ്ങള്‍.

അപകട ശബ്ദം കേട്ട് ലോറിയിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നവരാണ് നാട്ടുകാരെ വിവരമറിയിച്ചത്. പോലീസും ഫയര്‍ഫോഴ്‌സും ചേര്‍ന്ന് കാര്‍ വെട്ടിപ്പൊളിച്ചാണ് മൃതദേഹങ്ങള്‍ പുറത്തെടുത്തത്.

മൃതദേഹങ്ങള്‍ കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂരിലെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രികളിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. നിര്‍മ്മാണം നടക്കുന്ന ഈ റോഡില്‍ അപകടങ്ങള്‍ പതിവാണെന്ന് നാട്ടുകാര്‍ പറയുന്നു.

ദേശീയപാത 66ലെ ഡൈവേര്‍ഷന്‍ ഭാഗത്ത് നിര്‍ത്തിയിട്ടിരുന്ന ചരക്ക് ലോറിയുടെ പിന്നിലേക്കാണ് എട്ടംഗ സംഘം സഞ്ചരിച്ച തമിഴ്‌നാട് രജിസ്‌ട്രേഷനിലുള്ള കാര്‍ ഇടിച്ചുകയറിയത്. ഇടിയുടെ ആഘാതത്തില്‍ കാര്‍ പൂര്‍ണമായും തകര്‍ന്നു. എല്ലാവരും സംഭവസ്ഥലത്തു തന്നെ മരിച്ചു. മൃതദേഹങ്ങള്‍ തൃശൂര്‍ മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളേജിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. രാവിലെ ഒന്‍പതുമണിയോടെ പോസ്റ്റ്‌മോര്‍ട്ടം ആരംഭിക്കുമെന്ന് മെഡിക്കല്‍ കോളേജ് സൂപ്രണ്ട് അറിയിച്ചു. പോസ്റ്റുമോര്‍ട്ടത്തിന് ശേഷം മൃതദേഹങ്ങള്‍ ബന്ധുക്കള്‍ക്ക് കൈമാറും.

News in English: Eight people were killed in a road accident at Panambikkunnu Centre in Kaipamangalam, Thrissur. The victims were engineering students from Dindigul.

The deceased belonged to the PSNA College of Engineering and Technology in Dindigul. Five of them have been identified as Vishwa (20) from Salem, Surya (20) from Dindigul, Santhosh (20) from Madurai, Prasanna from Madurai, and Yuvasanjith (20) from Dindigul.

The accident occurred around midnight on Friday at Panambikkunnu Centre in Kaipamangalam, where National Highway expansion work is underway. A Tamil Nadu-registered car traveling at high speed from Guruvayur toward Kodungallur crashed into the rear of a parked Maharashtra-registered lorry on the roadside.

All eight occupants of the car died on the spot. Initial reports indicate that seven of them were engineering students from Dindigul.

The lorry occupants, alerted by the loud crash, informed the local residents. Police and Fire Force personnel cut open the heavily damaged vehicle to extricate the bodies.

While the bodies were initially moved to private hospitals in Kodungallur, they were later shifted to the Thrissur Medical College. The Medical College Superintendent stated that post-mortem procedures would begin around 9:00 AM, after which the bodies will be handed over to their relatives. Locals noted that accidents are a frequent occurrence along this stretch of the road under construction.
