ന്യൂഡല്‍ഹി: ഡല്‍ഹിയിലെ സത്യ നികേതനില്‍ ഞായറാഴ്ച ഉച്ചതിരിഞ്ഞ് അഞ്ച് നില കെട്ടിടം തകര്‍ന്നുവീണ് കുറഞ്ഞത് മൂന്ന് പേര്‍ മരിക്കുകയും രണ്ട് പേരുടെ നില ഗുരുതരമാകുകയും ചെയ്തു. അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങള്‍ക്കടിയില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ പേര്‍ കുടുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നതായി സംശയിക്കുന്നു. ഇതുവരെ 9 പേരെ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ബാക്കിയുള്ളവര്‍ക്കായി തിരച്ചില്‍ തുടരുകയാണ്.

ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് 1:30 നാണ് സംഭവം. 75 ബെഡുകളുള്ള ഒരു പേയിംഗ് ഗസ്റ്റ് കേന്ദ്രമായി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചിരുന്ന കെട്ടിടമാണ് തകര്‍ന്നത്. കെട്ടിട ഉടമ ഗുരുഗ്രാമിലാണ് താമസം. ഡല്‍ഹി യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റിയുടെ സൗത്ത് കാമ്പസിന് സമീപമുള്ള സത്യ നികേതനില്‍ വന്‍തോതില്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ താമസിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.

40-50 വര്‍ഷം പഴക്കമുള്ള ഈ കെട്ടിടത്തിന് ബേസ്‌മെന്റും അഞ്ച് നിലകളുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. സംഭവസമയത്ത് ബേസ്‌മെന്റില്‍ അറ്റകുറ്റപ്പണികള്‍ നടക്കുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് പോലീസ് വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ഡല്‍ഹി പോലീസ്, എന്‍.ഡി.ആര്‍.എഫ്, ഫയര്‍ സര്‍വീസ്, ഡി.ഡി.എം.എ സംഘങ്ങള്‍ സ്ഥലത്തെത്തി രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ചു.

ഞായറാഴ്ചയായതിനാല്‍ ഭൂരിഭാഗം വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികളും മുറികളില്‍ തന്നെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെന്നും ഏകദേശം 50  പേര്‍ അകത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്നതായി സംശയിക്കുന്നതായും ദൃക്‌സാക്ഷികള്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. 'ഹോസ്റ്റല്‍ ഡേസ്' എന്ന പേരുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ പി.ജി ആയിരുന്നു ഇത്. അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങള്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ നിന്ന് രക്ഷയ്ക്കായി ആളുകള്‍ നിലവിളിക്കുന്നത് കേട്ടതായി സ്ഥലത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഒരു വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥി പറഞ്ഞു. രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ എത്തുന്നതിന് മുന്‍പ് തന്നെ പ്രദേശവാസികള്‍ കൈകള്‍ കൊണ്ട് മണ്ണ് നീക്കി തിരച്ചില്‍ ആരംഭിച്ചിരുന്നു.

അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങള്‍ നീക്കം ചെയ്യാന്‍ ജെ.സി.ബി യന്ത്രങ്ങളും 12 ഫയര്‍ എഞ്ചിനുകളും സ്ഥലത്തെത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കാന്‍ പ്രത്യേക സുരക്ഷാ സേനയെയും വിന്യസിച്ചു. തകര്‍ന്ന കെട്ടിടത്തിന് സമീപമുള്ള മറ്റ് കെട്ടിടങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് മുന്‍കരുതലായി ആളുകളെ ഒഴിപ്പിച്ചു.

രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനം വേഗത്തിലാക്കാന്‍ ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട എല്ലാ ഏജന്‍സികള്‍ക്കും നിര്‍ദ്ദേശം നല്‍കിയിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി രേഖാ ഗുപ്തയും ലഫ്റ്റനന്റ് ഗവര്‍ണര്‍ തരണ്‍ജിത് സിംഗ് സന്ധുവും അറിയിച്ചു. തകര്‍ന്ന കെട്ടിടത്തിനടിയില്‍ നിന്ന് ചില വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ ഫോണ്‍ വിളിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും അവരെ സുരക്ഷിതമായി പുറത്തെത്തിക്കാനാണ് മുന്‍ഗണനയെന്നും പ്രാദേശിക ബി.ജെ.പി എം.എല്‍.എ അനില്‍ ശര്‍മ്മ പറഞ്ഞു.

അതേസമയം, സംഭവത്തില്‍ അഴിമതി ആരോപിച്ച് എ.എ.പി നേതാവ് സൗരഭ് ഭരദ്വാജ് രംഗത്തെത്തി. കെട്ടിട നിര്‍മ്മാണ വകുപ്പിലെ അഴിമതിയാണ് ഇത്തരം ദുരന്തങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് കാരണമെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ആരോപിച്ചു.

 At least three people were killed and two others critically injured after a five-storey building collapsed in Delhi's Satya Niketan on Sunday afternoon. Several others are suspected to be trapped under the debris. So far, nine people have been rescued, and search operations for the remaining victims are ongoing.

The incident occurred at around 1:30 PM. The building operated as a paying guest (PG) facility with 75 beds. The building owner resides in Gurugram. Satya Niketan, located near Delhi University's South Campus, houses a large number of students.

The 40 to 50-year-old structure comprised a basement and five floors. Police stated that renovation work was underway in the basement at the time of the collapse. Rescue teams from the Delhi Police, NDRF, Fire Services, and DDMA rushed to the spot to initiate operations.

Eyewitnesses reported that since it was a Sunday, most students were inside their rooms, and around 50 people were suspected to be present. The property was a men's PG named 'Hostel Days.' A student present at the scene mentioned hearing cries for help from beneath the rubble. Local residents had begun clearing debris with their hands before rescuers arrived.

JCB machines and 12 fire engines have been deployed to clear the debris. Special security forces were also posted to manage the crowd, and nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu stated that all relevant agencies have been instructed to expedite rescue efforts. Local BJP MLA Anil Sharma said some students were placing phone calls from beneath the rubble, and bringing them out safely remains the top priority.

Meanwhile, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged corruption in the building construction department, blaming it for such disasters.
