രണ്ട് ദിവസത്തിലേറെ നീണ്ട തിരച്ചിലിനൊടുവില് കണ്ണൂരിലെ അഡ്വ. ഡെലീറ്റ ടൈറ്റസിന്റെ ഫ്ലാറ്റില് നിന്നാണ് അര്ജുന് ആയങ്കിയെ ഉത്തരമേഖലാ ഡി.ഐ.ജി.യുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള പോലീസ് സംഘം അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തത്. ഒരു സുഹൃത്തും ഫ് ളാറ്റില് ഇയാള്ക്കൊപ്പമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
തളിപ്പറമ്പിലെ ലോഡ്ജില് കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്ന ആയങ്കി, പോലീസ് ഒളിത്താവളം മനസ്സിലാക്കിയതോടെ പയ്യന്നൂര് ഭാഗത്തേക്ക് കടന്നു. തുടര്ന്ന് ഒരു ഓട്ടോയില് സഞ്ചരിക്കവേ, ഡ്രൈവറുടെ ഫോണ് വാങ്ങി സുഹൃത്തിനെ കാറുമായി വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തി കണ്ണൂരിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചു. സംശയം തോന്നിയ ഓട്ടോ ഡ്രൈവര് പോലീസിനെ വിവരമറിയിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഓട്ടോ ഡ്രൈവറുടെ ഇടപെടലാണ് അര്ജുനെ കുടുക്കുന്നതില് പൊലീസിന് ഏറ്റവും സഹായകമായത്.
ഡ്രൈവറുടെ സൂചന പ്രകാരം പോലീസ് കാറിന്റെ സഞ്ചാരപാതയിലെ സിസിടിവി ദൃശ്യങ്ങള് പരിശോധിച്ച് പൊലീസ് ഫ് ളാറ്റിലെത്തി. അവിടെയുള്ള സിസിടിവി ദൃശ്യങ്ങളും പരിശോധിച്ച ശേഷം രാത്രി രണ്ടരയോടെ ഫ് ളാറ്റിലെത്തി ആയങ്കിയെ പിടികൂടി. പോലീസിനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള് ഓടി രക്ഷപ്പെടാന് ശ്രമിച്ചെങ്കിലും കീഴ്പ്പെടുത്തുകയായിരുന്നു.
കോതമംഗലത്തിന് സമീപം ക്രിമിനല് പ്രവര്ത്തനങ്ങള്ക്കായി സംഘം ചേര്ന്നെന്ന സംശയത്തില് ആയങ്കിയെയും കൂട്ടാളികളെയും മുന്പ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തിരുന്നു. ജാമ്യത്തിലിറങ്ങിയ ശേഷം, റെയ്ഡിന് നേതൃത്വം നല്കിയ കോതമംഗലം ഇന്സ്പെക്ടര്ക്കും ഊന്നുകല് എസ്.എച്ച്.ഒ.യ്ക്കുമെതിരെ സോഷ്യല് മീഡിയ (ഇന്സ്റ്റഗ്രാം, ഫേസ്ബുക്ക്) വഴി അധിക്ഷേപവും ഭീഷണിയും ഉയര്ത്തിയതിന് ആയങ്കിക്കെതിരെ കേസെടുത്തു.
ഹൈക്കോടതി മുന്കൂര് ജാമ്യാപേക്ഷ തള്ളിയിട്ടും ഒളിവില് നിന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി, ആഭ്യന്തര മന്ത്രി, പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര് എന്നിവരെ വെല്ലുവിളിക്കുന്നത് തുടര്ന്നതാണ് തിരച്ചില് ഊര്ജ്ജിതമാക്കാന് കാരണം.
കരിപ്പൂര് സ്വര്ണ്ണക്കടത്ത്, സ്വര്ണ്ണം തട്ടിയെടുക്കല്, തട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകല്, വധശ്രമം, മോഷണം, വനിതാ ടി.ടി.ഇ.യോട് മോശമായി പെരുമാറിയ സംഭവം എന്നിവയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് നിലവില് നിരവധി കേസുകള് ഇയാള്ക്കെതിരെയുണ്ട്.

After a search that lasted over two days, a police team led by the Northern Range DIG arrested Arjun Ayanki from Advocate Deleta Titus's flat in Kannur. A friend of his was also present with him at the flat.
Ayanki, who was hiding in a lodge in Taliparamba, fled towards Payyanur after realizing the police had identified his hideout. While traveling in an autorickshaw, he used the driver's phone to call his friend and ask him to bring a car, after which they headed toward Kannur. The alert autorickshaw driver, getting suspicious, informed the police. The driver's timely intervention proved crucial for the police in capturing Arjun.
Based on the driver's tip-off, the police tracked the car's route via CCTV footage and located the flat. After reviewing the CCTV footage at the location, police raided the flat around 2:30 AM and apprehended Ayanki. Although he attempted to flee upon seeing the police, he was swiftly overpowered.
Earlier, Ayanki and his accomplices were taken into custody on suspicion of gathering for criminal activities near Kothamangalam. After being released on bail, a case was registered against Ayanki for posting abusive and threatening messages on social media (Instagram, Facebook) targeting the Kothamangalam Inspector and the Oonnukal SHO, who had led the raid.
The police intensified their search after he continued to challenge the Chief Minister, the Home Minister, and police officers from his hideout, even after the High Court dismissed his anticipatory bail plea.
Multiple cases are currently pending against him, including the Karipur gold smuggling case, gold heist, kidnapping, attempted murder, theft, and inappropriate behavior toward a female TTE.
