കണ്ണൂര്‍: നിരവധി കേസുകളില്‍ പ്രതിയായിരിക്കെ പൊലീസിനെ സമൂഹമാധ്യമത്തിലൂടെ വെല്ലുവിളിച്ച അര്‍ജുന്‍ ആയങ്കിയെ കണ്ണൂര്‍ നഗരത്തിലെ ഒരു അഭിഭാഷകയുടെ ഫ് ളാറ്റില്‍ നിന്ന് പിടികൂടി.

ഉത്തരമേഖലാ ഡി.ഐ.ജി, കണ്ണൂര്‍ പോലീസ് കമ്മിഷണര്‍ വിജയ് ഭാരത് റെഡ്ഡി എന്നിവരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലായിരുന്നു പരിശോധന. തളിപ്പറമ്പിലെ ഒളിത്താവളത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് മാറി അഭിഭാഷകയുടെ ഫ്‌ലാറ്റിലേക്ക് പോകാന്‍ അര്‍ജുന്‍ കയറിയ ഓട്ടോയിലെ ഡ്രൈവര്‍ നല്‍കിയ വിവരമാണ് പോലീസിന് വഴിത്തിരിവായത്.  

ജില്ലാ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ വൈദ്യപരിശോധന പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കി കണ്ണൂര്‍ ടൗണ്‍ സ്റ്റേഷനിലെത്തിച്ച ഇയാളെ തുടര്‍ നടപടികള്‍ക്കായി എറണാകുളത്തേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോകും. അര്‍ജുന് ഒളിത്താവളങ്ങള്‍ ഒരുക്കാനും സാമ്പത്തിക സഹായം നല്‍കാനും മുന്നില്‍ നിന്നവര്‍ക്കെതിരെയും അന്വേഷണം വ്യാപിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ഫ് ളാറ്റിലെത്തിയ പോലീസിനെ കണ്ട് പിന്‍വാതിലിലൂടെ ഓടി രക്ഷപ്പെടാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചെങ്കിലും പോലീസ് സംഘം ഇയാളെ പിന്തുടര്‍ന്ന് ഓടിച്ചിട്ട് കീഴ്‌പ്പെടുത്തുകയായിരുന്നു.  കോതമംഗലത്തിന് സമീപം ക്രിമിനല്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി സംഘം ചേര്‍ന്ന സംഭവത്തില്‍ കസ്റ്റഡിയിലായ അര്‍ജുന്‍, ജാമ്യത്തിലിറങ്ങിയ ശേഷം പോലീസിനെയും ആഭ്യന്തര വകുപ്പിനെയും തുടര്‍ച്ചയായി വെല്ലുവിളിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.  

പോലീസിനെ വെല്ലുവിളിച്ചതല്ലെന്നും ന്യായമായ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ മാത്രമാണ് പറഞ്ഞതെന്നും അവകാശപ്പെട്ടു. കീഴടങ്ങാനല്ല കണ്ണൂരില്‍ വന്നതെന്നും 'കടലില്‍ കാണാതായവരെ കിട്ടിയോ' എന്നും ഇയാള്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങളോട് പരിഹസിച്ചു.

ആഭ്യന്തര മന്ത്രിയെ അപമാനിച്ചെന്ന പരാതി ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള കേസില്‍ ഇയാളെ ജില്ലാ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ വൈദ്യപരിശോധനയ്ക്ക് വിധേയനാക്കിയ ശേഷം മജിസ്‌ട്രേറ്റിന് മുന്നില്‍ ഹാജരാക്കും. ആയങ്കിയെ ഒളിവില്‍ കഴിയാന്‍ സഹായിച്ചവരെ കണ്ടെത്താന്‍ അന്വേഷണം തുടരുന്നു.

റെയ്ഡിന് നേതൃത്വം നല്‍കിയ കോതമംഗലം ഇന്‍സ്പെക്ടര്‍, ഊന്നുകല്‍ എസ്.എച്ച്.ഒ, ആഭ്യന്തര മന്ത്രി എന്നിവര്‍ക്കെതിരെ സോഷ്യല്‍ മീഡിയ അക്കൗണ്ടുകള്‍ വഴി ഭീഷണി സന്ദേശങ്ങളും അധിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും പ്രചരിപ്പിച്ചു.  ഹൈക്കോടതി മുന്‍കൂര്‍ ജാമ്യാപേക്ഷ തള്ളിയിട്ടും ഒളിവിലിരുന്ന് ഭീഷണി തുടര്‍ന്നതാണ് പോലീസ് വ്യാപക അന്വേഷണത്തിലേക്ക് കടക്കാന്‍ കാരണം.  

കരിപ്പൂര്‍ സ്വര്‍ണ്ണക്കടത്ത്, സ്വര്‍ണ്ണം തട്ടിയെടുക്കല്‍, തട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകല്‍, വധശ്രമം, ലഹരിക്കടത്ത്, മോഷണം, ഡ്യൂട്ടിയിലുള്ള ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെ ഭീഷണിപ്പെടുത്തല്‍, വനിതാ ടി.ടി.ഇയോട് മോശമായി പെരുമാറിയ സംഭവം തുടങ്ങി നിരവധി കേസുകള്‍ ഇയാള്‍ക്കെതിരെയുണ്ട്.  തുടര്‍ച്ചയായ കുറ്റകൃത്യങ്ങള്‍ മുന്‍നിര്‍ത്തി ഒന്‍പത് ജില്ലകളില്‍ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നത് വിലക്കിക്കൊണ്ട് ഇയാള്‍ക്കെതിരെ കാപ്പ ചുമത്തിയിരുന്നു.

Arjun Ayanki, an accused in numerous criminal cases who recently challenged the police on social media, has been arrested from a lawyer's flat in Kannur city.

The raid was conducted under the leadership of the Northern Range DIG and Kannur Police Commissioner Vijay Bharat Reddy. Crucial information provided by an auto-rickshaw driver—whose vehicle Ayanki used to travel from his hideout in Taliparamba to the lawyer's flat—proved to be the turning point for the police.

Following a medical examination at the District Hospital, he was brought to the Kannur Town Police Station and will be taken to Ernakulam for further legal procedures. The police have also expanded their investigation to track down those who provided financial aid and hideouts for Ayanki while he was on the run.

Upon the arrival of the police team at the flat, Ayanki attempted to flee through the back door, but officers chased and successfully subdued him.

After being taken into custody earlier for gathering with a group for criminal activities near Kothamangalam, Ayanki was released on bail, after which he continuously challenged the police and the Home Department. He used his social media accounts to post threatening messages and abusive content targeting the Kothamangalam Inspector, Unnukal SHO (who led the raid), and the Home Minister. The police intensified their search after he continued issuing threats from hiding, even after the High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea.

Ayanki faces numerous charges across multiple cases, including the Karipur gold smuggling case, gold heist, kidnapping, attempted murder, drug trafficking, theft, threatening on-duty officers, and misconduct toward a female TTE. Owing to his repeated criminal offenses, KAAPA (Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act) was previously invoked against him, banning his entry into nine districts.
