ന്യൂഡല്ഹി : തുടര്ച്ചയായ മണിക്കൂറുകള് പെയ്ത കനത്ത മഴയെത്തുടര്ന്ന് ഡല്ഹിയിലും സമീപ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും വെള്ളക്കെട്ടും രൂക്ഷമായ ഗതാഗതക്കുരുക്കും രൂപപ്പെട്ടു. വടക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറന് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളില് ശക്തമായ മഴ പെയ്യുമെന്ന് ഇന്ത്യന് കാലാവസ്ഥാ വകുപ്പ് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നല്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഉത്തര്പ്രദേശ്, ഹിമാചല് പ്രദേശ്, ഉത്തരാഖണ്ഡ് എന്നിവടങ്ങളിലെ ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട പ്രദേശങ്ങളില് യെല്ലോ അലേര്ട്ടും, കിഴക്കന് രാജസ്ഥാനില് ശക്തമായോ അതിശക്തമായോ മഴ പെയ്യാന് സാധ്യതയുള്ളതിനാല് ഓറഞ്ച് അലേര്ട്ടും പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച ഡല്ഹിയില് പെയ്ത കനത്ത മഴയില് പ്രധാന റോഡുകളെല്ലാം വെള്ളത്തിനടിയിലായി. ശനിയാഴ്ചയോടെ മഴയുടെ തീവ്രത കുറയുമെന്നും അടുത്ത രണ്ട് ദിവസം നേരിയ മഴയ്ക്ക് സാധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്നും കാലാവസ്ഥാ വകുപ്പ് അറിയിച്ചു.
കനത്ത മഴ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല് ബാധിച്ചത് സൗത്ത് ഡല്ഹിയിലെ മെഹ്റോളി-ബദര്പൂര് റോഡിനെയാണ്. വായുസേന ബാഗിന് (എയര്ഫോഴ്സ് സ്റ്റേഷന്) സമീപം മൂന്ന് മുതല് നാല് അടി വരെ വെള്ളമുയര്ന്നതോടെ ഈ വഴി പുഴയ്ക്ക് സമാനമായി. കാറുകളും ബൈക്കുകളും ഓട്ടോറിക്ഷകളും വഴിയരികില് കേടായിക്കിടന്നത് സ്ഥിതി വഷളാക്കി. ഖാന്പൂര്, ഒഖ്ല മോര്, സംഗം വിഹാര്, അംബേദ്കര് നഗര് തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും ഗതാഗതം കിലോമീറ്ററുകളോളം തടസ്സപ്പെട്ടു.
ഐ.ടി.ഓ, വസീറാബാദ് റോഡ്, പട്ടേല് റോഡ്, രോഹ്തക് റോഡ്, ഡല്ഹി-ജയ്പൂര് ഹൈവേ, ഷാഹീന് ബാഗ്, ഈസ്റ്റ് ഡല്ഹിയിലെ ജി.ടി റോഡ് എന്നിവടങ്ങളിലും ഗതാഗതം തടസ്സപ്പെട്ടു.
- മഴയെത്തുടര്ന്ന് അപകടങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടായതോടെ ഡല്ഹി ഫയര് സര്വീസിന് നിരവധിയായ സഹായ കോളുകള് ലഭിച്ചു.
- മഴയില് 9 സ്ഥലങ്ങളില് വീടുകളുടെ ഭാഗങ്ങള് തകര്ന്നു വീണു.
- 16 ഇടങ്ങളില് മരങ്ങള് കടപുഴകി വീണു. ഒരു മരം വീടിന് മുകളിലേക്ക് വീണ് കുടുങ്ങിയ മൂന്ന് സ്ത്രീകളെ ഫയര്ഫോഴ്സ് സുരക്ഷിതമായി പുറത്തെത്തിച്ചു.
വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച രാവിലെ 8.30 വരെയുള്ള കണക്കനുസരിച്ച് സഫ്ദര്ജംഗില് 59.2 മില്ലീമീറ്ററും, ലോധി റോഡില് 60.4 മില്ലീമീറ്ററും മഴ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി. ആഗസ്റ്റ് 8, 9 തീയതികളില് നേരിയ മഴ മാത്രമായിരിക്കും ഉണ്ടാകുക.
അടുത്ത 24 മണിക്കൂറിനുള്ളില് കിഴക്കന് ഇന്ത്യയില് രൂപപ്പെടാന് സാധ്യതയുള്ള ന്യൂനമര്ദ്ദം കാരണം ഗംഗാതട പശ്ചിമ ബംഗാളിലും ഒഡീഷയിലും ശക്തമായ മഴയ്ക്ക് സാധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്ന് കാലാവസ്ഥാ വകുപ്പ് വ്യക്തമാക്കി.
നോയിഡയിലും ഗുഡ്ഗാവിലും ദുരിതം
മഹാമായ ഫ്ലൈ ഓവറിന് താഴെയുള്ള വെള്ളക്കെട്ടില്പ്പെട്ട് രോഗികളില്ലാത്ത ഒരു ആംബുലന്സ് അരമണിക്കൂറിലധികം കുടുങ്ങിക്കിടന്നു.
കനത്ത മഴയില് ഗുഡ്ഗാവ് സിവില് ആശുപത്രിയുടെ ബേസ്മെന്റിലും നിലത്തും വെള്ളം കയറി. ഇന്ജക്ഷന് റൂം ഉള്പ്പെടെയുള്ള ബേസ്മെന്റ് പ്രവര്ത്തനങ്ങള് താത്കാലികമായി നിര്ത്തിവെച്ചു. ആശുപത്രിയിലെത്തിയ രോഗികളും ജീവനക്കാരും കടുത്ത ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിലായി.

Hours of continuous heavy rainfall triggered widespread waterlogging and severe traffic congestion across Delhi and surrounding regions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall alerts for various parts of Northwest India. A yellow alert has been issued for isolated areas in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, while an orange alert has been declared for East Rajasthan due to the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Friday's heavy downpour inundated major roads across Delhi. The IMD stated that rain intensity is expected to reduce by Saturday, with light showers likely over the following two days.
South Delhi's Mehrauli-Badarpur (MB) Road was among the worst-hit stretches. Near the Air Force Station (Vayusena Bad), water accumulated up to 3–4 feet deep, turning the road into a river. Broken-down cars, motorcycles, and auto-rickshaws along the route worsened the situation. Traffic came to a standstill for several kilometers in areas including Khanpur, Okhla Mor, Sangam Vihar, and Ambedkar Nagar.
Traffic movement was also severely affected at ITO, Wazirabad Road, Patel Road, Rohtak Road, the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, Shaheen Bagh, and GT Road in East Delhi.
The incessant rain prompted numerous emergency calls to the Delhi Fire Service:
9 incidents of partial house collapses were reported due to the rain.
Trees uprooted in 16 locations. Firefighters safely rescued three women who were trapped inside a house after a tree fell on it.
By 8:30 AM on Friday, Safdarjung recorded 59.2 mm of rainfall, while Lodhi Road received 60.4 mm. Only light rain is forecast for August 8 and 9.

Havoc in Noida and Gurugram
An empty ambulance remained stranded for over half an hour in a waterlogged underpass beneath the Mahamaya Flyover in Noida.
Rainwater flooded the basement and ground floor of the Civil Hospital in Gurugram. Basement services, including the injection room, were temporarily suspended, causing severe inconvenience to patients and staff.
