കുറ്റിപ്പുറം: മലപ്പുറം കുറ്റിപ്പുറത്ത് റെയില്‍വേ മേല്‍പ്പാലത്തിന് സമീപമുള്ള ദേശീയപാതയില്‍ നിയന്ത്രണം വിട്ട ബസ് ഡിവൈഡറില്‍ ഇടിച്ച് തലകീഴായി മറിഞ്ഞ് ഒരാള്‍ മരിക്കുകയും നിരവധി പേര്‍ക്ക് പരിക്കേല്‍ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. കോഴിക്കോട് പെരുവയല്‍ സ്വദേശി വൈഷ്ണവ് (31) ആണ് മരിച്ചത്. മൂന്ന് പേരുടെ നില ഗുരുതരമായി തുടരുകയാണ്.

തൃശൂരില്‍ നിന്ന് കോഴിക്കോട്ടേക്ക് പോവുകയായിരുന്ന സ്വകാര്യ ബസാണ് അപകടത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ടത്. ദേവസ്വം ബോര്‍ഡ് പരീക്ഷയ്ക്കായി സഹോദരനൊപ്പം യാത്ര ചെയ്യുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് വൈഷ്ണവ് അപകടത്തില്‍പ്പെടുന്നത്. പരിക്കേറ്റ വൈഷ്ണവിന്റെ സഹോദരന്‍ നിലവില്‍ ചികിത്സയിലാണ്.

ദേശീയപാതയിലെ വളവും ഇറക്കവുമുള്ള ഭാഗത്തുവച്ചാണ് അപകടമുണ്ടായത്. അമിതവേഗത്തിലെത്തിയ ബസ് ഏതെങ്കിലും വാഹനത്തെ ഓവര്‍ടേക്ക് ചെയ്യാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതിനിടെ ഡിവൈഡറില്‍ ഇടിച്ചതാകാമെന്നാണ് പൊലീസിന്റെ പ്രാഥമിക നിഗമനം. ബസ് അമിത വേഗത്തിലായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് യാത്രക്കാര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

ഇടിച്ചതിന് പിന്നാലെ ബസിന്റെ ടയര്‍ ഊരിത്തെറിക്കുകയും ഒരു ഡിവൈഡറിലിടിച്ച് കരണം മറിഞ്ഞ് എതിര്‍ വശത്തെ ഡിവൈഡറിന് മുകളിലേക്ക് വീഴുകയുമായിരുന്നു.

കഴിഞ്ഞ ആഴ്ചയുണ്ടായ മറ്റൊരു അപകടത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് റോഡരികില്‍ നിര്‍ത്തിയിട്ടിരുന്ന കാറിന് മുകളിലേക്കാണ് ബസ് തലകീഴായി മറിഞ്ഞത്. ഇടിയുടെ ആഘാതത്തില്‍ ബസിന്റെ നടുഭാഗം രണ്ടായി പിളര്‍ന്നു.

അപകടം നടന്നയുടന്‍ ബസിന്റെ ഡീസല്‍ ടാങ്ക് പൊട്ടി റോഡിലേക്ക് ഇന്ധനം വന്‍തോതില്‍ ഒഴുകിപ്പരന്നത് കൂടുതല്‍ ഭീതി പരത്തി.

അപകടസമയത്ത് ബസില്‍ നിറയെ യാത്രക്കാരുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. നാട്ടുകാരും ഫയര്‍ഫോഴ്‌സും രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരും ചേര്‍ന്നാണ് പണിപ്പെട്ട് യാത്രക്കാരെ പുറത്തെടുത്തത്. ബസ് വെട്ടിപ്പൊളിച്ചാണ് പലരെയും പുറത്തെത്തിക്കാനായത്. പരിക്കേറ്റവരെ വളാഞ്ചേരിയിലെയും കോട്ടക്കലിലെയും സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രികളില്‍ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. വിദഗ്ധ ചികിത്സ ആവശ്യമായവരെ കോട്ടക്കലിലെ ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ബസിന്റെ അമിതവേഗവും മഴ പെയ്ത് റോഡ് നനഞ്ഞുകിടന്നതുമാണ് അപകടത്തിന് കാരണമായതെന്ന് ദൃക്സാക്ഷികളും നാട്ടുകാരും പറയുന്നു. ബസ് അമിതവേഗത്തിലായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് രക്ഷപ്പെട്ട യാത്രക്കാരും സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

സംഭവത്തില്‍ മോട്ടോര്‍ വാഹനവകുപ്പും പൊലീസും അന്വേഷണം ആരംഭിച്ചു. ടയറിന് തകരാര്‍ സംഭവിച്ച് നിയന്ത്രണം നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടതാണോ അതോ അമിതവേഗമാണോ അപകടകാരണമെന്ന് വിശദമായി പരിശോധിച്ചുവരികയാണ്.

Crashing onto a Parked Car: The bus overturned onto a car parked by the roadside, which had been left there following an accident last week. The severe impact broke the middle section of the bus into two.

Fuel Leak Spreads Panic: Immediately after the crash, the bus’s diesel tank ruptured, causing a major fuel leak on the road and triggering widespread panic among onlookers.

Challenging Rescue Operations

The bus was fully packed with passengers at the time of the incident. Local residents, the fire service, and rescue teams struggled to extricate the trapped passengers. Emergency responders had to cut open parts of the bus to pull several individuals out. The injured were rushed to private hospitals in Valanchery and Kottakkal, with those requiring specialized care being shifted to Kottakkal.

Eyewitnesses and locals stated that the bus's excessive speed, combined with wet road conditions caused by rain, contributed to the accident. Surviving passengers also reiterated that the driver was speeding.
