നോര്‍ത്ത് കരോലിന: വീട്ടുജോലിയെ ചൊല്ലിയുണ്ടായ തര്‍ക്കത്തെത്തുടര്‍ന്ന്   ഇന്ത്യന്‍ വംശജ ഭര്‍ത്താവിനെ കഴുത്തില്‍ കത്തിക്കു കുത്തി. നോര്‍ത്ത് കരോലിനയിലെ അധ്യാപികാ സഹായിയായ ചന്ദ്രപ്രഭാ സിഗ് (44) ആണ് അറസ്റ്റിലായത്. ഭര്‍ത്താവ് അരവിന്ദ് സിംഗ് ഗുരുതരനിലയില്‍ ആശുപത്രിയിലാണ്.

നോര്‍ത്ത് കരോലിനയിലെ വീട്ടില്‍വച്ച് ഒക്ടോബര്‍ 12നാണ് ആക്രമണം നടന്നതെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. അരവിന്ദ് സിംഗ് ഇപ്പോഴും ചികിത്സയിലാണ്.

വീട് വൃത്തിയാക്കാത്തതിലുള്ള ദേഷ്യത്തില്‍ ഭാര്യ തന്നെ മനഃപൂര്‍വം കത്തി ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കഴുത്തില്‍ കുത്തുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് അരവിന്ദ് സിംഗ് പോലീസിന് മൊഴി നല്‍കി.

എന്നാല്‍, തര്‍ക്കത്തിനിടെ ഭക്ഷണം പാചകം ചെയ്യുന്നതിനിടയില്‍ കത്തിയുമായി തിരിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ അബദ്ധത്തില്‍ ഭര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ ദേഹത്ത് കൊണ്ടതാണെന്നും, വീട്ടിലെ വൃത്തിയില്ലായ്മയില്‍ താന്‍ അസ്വസ്ഥയായിരുന്നുവെന്നും ചന്ദ്രപ്രഭ അന്വേഷണ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരോട് പറഞ്ഞു.

എന്‍ഡ്‌ഹേവന്‍ എലിമെന്ററി സ്‌കൂളിലെ കെ-3 ഗ്രേഡ് അസിസ്റ്റന്റ് ടീച്ചറായ ചന്ദ്രപ്രഭാ സിംഗിനെതിരേ 'അപകടകരമായ ആയുധം ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ഗുരുതരമായ പരിക്ക് വരുത്തിയതിന്' കേസെടുത്തു. ഷാര്‍ലറ്റ്-മെക്ക്ലെന്‍ബര്‍ഗ് സ്‌കൂള്‍സ് ഡിസ്ട്രിക്റ്റ് ഇവരെ ശമ്പളത്തോടുകൂടിയ സസ്‌പെന്‍ഷനിലാക്കിയിരിക്കുകയാണ്.

അറസ്റ്റിനുശേഷം മജിസ്ട്രേറ്റ് ആദ്യ ഘട്ടത്തില്‍ ജാമ്യം നിഷേധിച്ചെങ്കിലും, ഒക്ടോബര്‍ 13-ലെ കോടതി നടപടികളില്‍ 10,000 ഡോളര്‍ ബോണ്ടില്‍ ജാമ്യം അനുവദിച്ചു. ഭര്‍ത്താവിനെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കരതുത്, ഇലക്ട്രോണിക് മോണിറ്ററിംഗ് ഉപകരണം ധരിക്കണം തുടങ്ങിയ കര്‍ശന വ്യവസ്ഥകളോടെയാണ് അവരെ ജയിലില്‍ നിന്ന് വിട്ടയച്ചത്. അടുത്ത കോടതിവാദം ഒക്ടോബര്‍ 30-നാണ്.
