മുംബയ് : ലോക് ഡൗണ്‍ മേയ് മൂന്നു വരെ നീട്ടിയതിന് പിന്നാലെ മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയില്‍ നൂറുകണക്കിനു മറുനാടന്‍ തൊഴിലാളികള്‍ പ്രതിഷേധവുമായി തെരുവിലിറങ്ങിയത് കനത്ത ആശങ്ക സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നു. തൊഴിലാളികളെ പിരിച്ചുവിടാന്‍ പൊലീസ് ലാത്തിച്ചാര്‍ജ് നടത്തി.

നാട്ടിലേക്കു തിരിച്ചുപോകാന്‍ വഴിയൊരുക്കണമെന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ടാണ് യുപിയിലും ബിഹാറിലും നിന്നുള്ള കുടിയേറ്റ തൊഴിലാളികള്‍ വൈകുന്നേരത്തോടെ തെരുവിലിറങ്ങിയത്.

ലോക് ഡൗണ്‍ ലംഘിച്ച് ബാന്ദ്രയില്‍ പ്രതിഷേധിച്ചത്. യു.പി, ബീഹാര്‍ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള തൊഴിലാളികളാണ് പ്രതിഷേധത്തിന് പിന്നില്‍.

ഗുരുതരമായ സ്ഥിതിവിശേഷത്തിന്റെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില്‍ മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ഉദ്ധവ് താക്കറെയെ കേന്ദ്ര ആഭ്യന്തര മന്ത്രി അമിത് ഷാ വിളിച്ചു. സംഭവത്തില്‍ ആശങ്ക അറിയിച്ച അമിത് ഷാ പ്രശ്‌നപരിഹാരത്തിന് കേന്ദ്രത്തിന്റെ എല്ലാ സഹായവും വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തു.

ഇതേസമയം, തൊഴിലാളികളെ ചിലര്‍ ബോധപൂര്‍വം ഇളക്കിവിട്ടതാണെന്നും സംശയം ഉയര്‍ന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു പൊലീസ് അന്വേഷണം ആരംഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

തങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ഭക്ഷണമില്ലെന്നും ദിവസങ്ങളായി പട്ടിണിയിലാണെന്നും തൊഴിലാളികള്‍ ചാനലുകളോടു പറഞ്ഞു. ചിലരെ താമസസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്ന് ഉടമകള്‍ ഇറക്കിവിടുന്നു. കിട്ടാനുള്ള കൂലി നല്കിയില്ലെന്നും അവര്‍ പരിതപിക്കുന്നു. ഇനിയും പിടിച്ചുനില്‍ക്കാനാവില്ലെന്നും എത്രയും വേഗം തിരികെ നാട്ടിലെത്തിക്കണമെന്നുമാന്നാണ് തൊഴിലാളികളുടെ ആവശ്യം.

ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ കൊറോണ വൈറസ് ബാധ ഏറ്റവും രൂക്ഷമായുള്ള മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയില്‍ ഇത്തരത്തിലൊരു സംഭവമുണ്ടായത് കേന്ദ്ര സംസ്ഥാന സര്‍ക്കാരുകളെ ആശങ്കയിലാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ സ്ഥിരീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ട 10,815 കേസുകളില്‍ 2400 കേസുകള്‍ മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിലാണ്. സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് 101 പേര്‍ ഇതിനകം വൈറസ് ബാധിച്ചു മരിച്ചു.

Summary: Hundreds of migrant workers took to the streets in Maharashtra after the lockdown was extended to May 3, causing great concern. Police resorted lathicharge to disperse the workers.

Migrant workers from UP and Bihar took to the Bandra streets in the evening demanding a way to return home.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah called Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in the wake of a critical situation. Expressing concern over the incident, Amit Shah promised the Center's help in resolving the issue.

At the same time, there are suspicions that some of the workers have been deliberately stirred up. Police are investigating the matter.

Workers told the channels that they had no food and had been starving for days. Some are evicted by the landlords.  The workers want to return home as soon as they can.
