പ്രജനീ രാജന്‍, വിജിലന്‍സ് സംഘം പരിശോധന നടത്തുന്നു

കൊച്ചി: കണക്കറ്റ് സ്വത്തുസമ്പാദിച്ചെന്ന പരാതിയില്‍ സംസ്ഥാന ജി.എസ്.ടി  ജോയിന്റ് കമ്മിഷണര്‍ പ്രജനീ രാജന്റെ വീട്ടിലും ഓഫീസിലും വിജിലന്‍സ് ആന്‍ഡ് ആന്റി കറപ്ഷന്‍ ബ്യൂറോ നടത്തിയ മിന്നല്‍ പരിശോധനയില്‍ കണക്കില്‍പ്പെടാത്ത 14.10 ലക്ഷം രൂപയും 788 യു.എസ് ഡോളറുംപിടിച്ചെടുത്തു.

വിജിലന്‍സിന്റെ 'പ്രൊജക്റ്റ് സീറോ' പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി നടന്ന പരിശോധന 13 മണിക്കൂര്‍ നീണ്ടു.  പ്രജനീ രാജന്റെ തേവര ജി.എസ്.ടി കോംപ്ലക്‌സിലെ ഓഫീസ്, പച്ചാളം ഇരട്ടക്കുളങ്ങര റോഡിലെ 'പ്രജനീ വിലാസ്' എന്ന വീട്, പച്ചാളത്തുള്ള മറ്റൊരു വീട് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലാണ് വിജിലന്‍സ് സംഘം ഒരേസമയം പരിശോധന നടത്തിയത്.

മൂവാറ്റുപുഴ വിജിലന്‍സ് കോടതി പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ച റെയ്ഡ് വാറന്റിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലായിരുന്നു എറണാകുളം വിജിലന്‍സ് സ്‌പെഷ്യല്‍ സെല്ലിന്റെ ഈ നടപടി. റെയ്ഡ് നടക്കുന്നതിനിടെ വീട്ടിലെ ഒരു മുറിയില്‍ നിന്ന് പണം രഹസ്യമായി മാറ്റാന്‍ ശ്രമം നടന്നുവെങ്കിലും വിജിലന്‍സ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ ഇത് തടയുകയും തുക പിടിച്ചെടുക്കുകയുമായിരുന്നു.

2014 മുതല്‍ 2024 വരെയുള്ള 10 വര്‍ഷ കാലയളവില്‍ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥയ്ക്ക് അവരുടെ നിയമപരമായ വരുമാന സ്രോതസ്സുകളേക്കാള്‍ 63 ശതമാനത്തോളം (ഏകദേശം 2.89 കോടി രൂപ) അധിക സ്വത്തുണ്ടെന്ന് പ്രാഥമിക അന്വേഷണത്തില്‍ വിജിലന്‍സ് കണ്ടെത്തിയിരുന്നു. ഇതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റര്‍ ചെയ്തത്.

എറണാകുളം വിജിലന്‍സ് സ്‌പെഷ്യല്‍ സെല്‍ എസ്.പി. എം.ജെ. സോജന്റെ മേല്‍നോട്ടത്തില്‍ ഡിവൈ.എസ്.പി യേശുദാസ് എ.എല്‍., ഇന്‍സ്‌പെക്ടര്‍ എ.ജി. ബിബിന്‍ എന്നിവരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള വിജിലന്‍സ് സംഘമാണ് റെയ്ഡ് നടത്തിയത്. പിടിച്ചെടുത്ത പണവും ധനകാര്യ രേഖകളും മൂവാറ്റുപുഴ വിജിലന്‍സ് കോടതിയില്‍ ഹാജരാക്കുമെന്ന് വിജിലന്‍സ് അധികൃതര്‍ അറിയിച്ചു.

നികുതി വെട്ടിപ്പുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ എടുക്കുന്ന കേസുകളില്‍ അന്തിമ നടപടിയും അംഗീകാരവും നല്‍കേണ്ട ചുമതല പ്രജനീ രാജനായിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ വന്‍കിട നികുതി വെട്ടിപ്പുകാരില്‍നിന്ന് കൈക്കൂലി വാങ്ങി കേസുകള്‍ ഒത്തുതീര്‍പ്പാക്കിയെന്ന പരാതി വിജിലന്‍സിന് ലഭിച്ചതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്നായിരുന്നു പരിശോധന.

വിവിധ പരാതികളെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് പ്രജനി കുറച്ചുനാളായി വിജിലന്‍സിന്റെ നിരീക്ഷണത്തിലായിരുന്നു. ബാര്‍ ഉടമകള്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ വന്‍കിട നികുതി വെട്ടിപ്പുകാരുടെ മേല്‍ വരുന്ന കേസുകളും നടപടികളും ഒത്തുതീര്‍ക്കുന്നതിന് ഇവര്‍ വന്‍ തുക കൈക്കൂലി കൈപ്പറ്റിയിരുന്നതായാണ് സഹപ്രവര്‍ത്തകര്‍ തന്നെ പറയുന്നത്. ഇടതു പക്ഷ സംഘടനയിലായിരുന്ന പ്രജനി സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ മാറിയപ്പോള്‍ വലതു പക്ഷ സംഘടനയില്‍ അംഗത്വമെടുത്തിരുന്നു. കേസുകളില്‍ നിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെടാനുള്ള തന്ത്രമായിരുന്നു ഇതെന്നാണ് പറയപ്പെടുന്നത്.

പണത്തിനു പുറമേ ചില സുപ്രധാന രേഖകളും വിജിലന്‍സ് പിടിച്ചെടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഈ രേഖകളെല്ലാം വിശദമായ പരിശോധനയ്ക്കും വിശകലനത്തിനും വിധേയമാക്കുമെന്നും അതിനു ശേഷമേ അറസ്റ്റ് ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ള തുടര്‍നടപടികളിലേക്ക് കടക്കുകയുള്ളൂ എന്നും വിജിലന്‍സ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.

In a surprise inspection conducted by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau following complaints of acquiring disproportionate assets, uncounted cash of ₹14.10 lakh and 788 US dollars were seized from the house and office of State GST Joint Commissioner Prajanee Rajan.

The 13-hour-long raid was conducted as part of the Vigilance's 'Project Zero' initiative. A team of Vigilance officers simultaneously searched Prajanee Rajan's office at the Thevara GST Complex, her residence named 'Prajanee Vilas' on Irattakkulangara Road in Pachalam, and another house located in Pachalam.

The operation was executed by the Ernakulam Vigilance Special Cell based on a raid warrant issued by the Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court. During the raid, an attempt was made to secretly move money from a room inside the house, but Vigilance officers intervened, foiled the attempt, and confiscated the amount.

Preliminary investigations by Vigilance revealed that during the 10-year period from 2014 to 2024, the officer accumulated approximately 63 percent (around ₹2.89 crore) in excess assets compared to her legal sources of income. The case was registered on the basis of these findings.

The raid was carried out by a Vigilance team led by DySP Yesudas A.L. and Inspector A.G. Bibin, under the supervision of Ernakulam Vigilance Special Cell SP M.J. Sojan. Vigilance officials stated that the seized cash and financial documents will be produced before the Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court.

Prajanee Rajan was responsible for issuing final orders and approvals in cases involving tax evasion. However, the raid was initiated after Vigilance received complaints alleging that she settled cases by accepting bribes from major tax evaders.

In addition to the cash, Vigilance also seized several crucial documents. Officials clarified that all documents will undergo detailed verification and analysis before initiating further legal actions, including arrest.
