തിരുവനന്തപുരം: സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് വരും ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ മഴ അതിശക്തമായി തുടരുമെന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര കാലാവസ്ഥാ വകുപ്പിന്റെ മുന്നറിയിപ്പ്. 24 മണിക്കൂറിൽ 204.4 മില്ലിമീറ്ററിൽ കൂടുതൽ മഴ ലഭിക്കാൻ സാധ്യതയുള്ളതിനാൽ ഇന്ന് (ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 4) എട്ട് ജില്ലകളിൽ റെഡ് അലർട്ട് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.

പത്തനംതിട്ട, കോട്ടയം, ഇടുക്കി, എറണാകുളം, കോഴിക്കോട്, വയനാട്, കണ്ണൂർ, കാസറഗോഡ് എന്നീ ജില്ലകളിലാണ് റെഡ് അലർട്ട് നിലവിലുള്ളത്. ആലപ്പുഴ, തൃശൂർ, പാലക്കാട്, മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലകളിൽ ഓറഞ്ച് അലർട്ടും തിരുവനന്തപുരം, കൊല്ലം ജില്ലകളിൽ മഞ്ഞ അലർട്ടും പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. വരും ദിവസങ്ങളിലും ശക്തമായ മഴ തുടരുമെന്നാണ് പ്രവചനം.

അവധിയും പരീക്ഷാ മാറ്റവും

മഴ കനത്തതോടെ കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ പ്രൊഫഷണൽ കോളജുകൾ, അങ്കണവാടികൾ, ട്യൂഷൻ സെന്ററുകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള എല്ലാ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾക്കും ജില്ലാ കളക്ടർ അവധി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. ഇടുക്കിയിൽ ദുരിതാശ്വാസ ക്യാമ്പുകൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന സ്കൂളുകൾക്കും അവധിയാണ്.

ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 4, 5, 6, 10 തീയതികളിൽ നടത്താനിരുന്ന എല്ലാ പി.എസ്.സി (PSC) പരീക്ഷകളും, ബീറ്റ് ഫോറസ്റ്റ് ഓഫീസർ തസ്തികയിലേക്കുള്ള കായികക്ഷമതാ പരിശോധനയും മാറ്റിവെച്ചതായി അധികൃതർ അറിയിച്ചു.

ജാഗ്രതാ നിർദേശങ്ങൾ

ഉരുൾപൊട്ടൽ, മണ്ണിടിച്ചിൽ, വെള്ളപ്പൊക്ക സാധ്യതയുള്ള മേഖലകളിൽ ഉള്ളവർ അധികൃതരുടെ നിർദേശാനുസരണം സുരക്ഷിത സ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്ക് മാറി താമസിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. മലയോര മേഖലകളിലേക്കുള്ള രാത്രിയാത്രകളും ജലാശയങ്ങളിലിറങ്ങുന്നതും പൂർണ്ണമായും ഒഴിവാക്കണം. അപകടസാഹചര്യങ്ങളിൽ 1077, 1070 എന്നീ ടോൾ ഫ്രീ നമ്പറുകളിലോ, വൈദ്യുതി തടസ്സങ്ങൾക്കും അപകടങ്ങൾക്കും 1912 എന്ന KSEB നമ്പറിലോ ബന്ധപ്പെടാവുന്നതാണ്.

പത്തനംതിട്ടയിൽ ദുരിതാശ്വാസ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ഊർജ്ജിതം

പ്രളയബാധിത മേഖലയായ പത്തനംതിട്ടയിൽ 133-ലധികം ദുരിതാശ്വാസ ക്യാമ്പുകൾ തുറന്നു. എൻ.ഡി.ആർ.എഫ്, ഫയർഫോഴ്സ്, വ്യോമസേനാ ഹെലികോപ്റ്ററുകൾ എന്നിവയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ രക്ഷാപ്രവർത്തനം പുരോഗമിക്കുകയാണ്. ക്യാമ്പുകളിൽ നിന്ന് മടങ്ങുന്ന കുടുംബങ്ങൾക്ക് ₹10,000 വീതവും, വീട് പൂർണ്ണമായി തകർന്നവർക്ക് ₹6 ലക്ഷം രൂപയും സാമ്പത്തിക സഹായം സർക്കാർ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

The Central Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rainfall will continue across the state in the coming days. A Red Alert has been issued for eight districts today (August 4), as rainfall exceeding 204.4 mm within 24 hours is expected.

A Red Alert is currently active in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod. Meanwhile, an Orange Alert has been declared in Alappuzha, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram, and a Yellow Alert in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam. Holidays and Exam Postponements

Due to worsening rain, the District Collector has declared a holiday for all educational institutions in Kottayam district, including professional colleges, Anganwadis, and tuition centers. In Idukki, schools operating as relief camps will remain closed.

Authorities announced that all Kerala PSC exams scheduled for August 4, 5, 6, and 10, along with the physical efficiency tests for the Beat Forest Officer post, have been postponed.

Safety Precautions

Residents in areas prone to landslides, mudslides, and flooding must move to safer locations as directed by authorities. Night travel to hilly regions and entering water bodies should be completely avoided. For emergency assistance, citizens can reach out to toll-free numbers 1077 and 1070, or call KSEB at 1912 for power outages and electrical hazards.

Relief Operations Intensified in Pathanamthitta

In the flood-affected district of Pathanamthitta, over 133 relief camps have been set up. Rescue operations led by the NDRF, Fire Force, and IAF helicopters are underway. The government has announced financial assistance of ₹10,000 for families returning home from camps and ₹6 lakh for houses that have been fully destroyed.
