Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman informed Trump that attacking Iran’s energy centers could trigger retaliatory strikes against oil production facilities in other Gulf nations, including Saudi Arabia. Similarly, fulfilling the demand for Iran to end its nuclear programs is equally difficult—especially since Trump has given the green light to nuclearize Saudi Arabia, meaning Iran is unlikely to stay quiet. For these reasons, many believe Trump's current announcement is merely a tactical strategy.
