നവി മുംബയ് അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര വിമാനത്താവളം പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു, സര്‍വീസുകള്‍ ഡിസംബറില്‍ തുടങ്ങും

മുംബയ് : മുംബയ്  നഗരത്തിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര വിമാനത്താവളമായ നവി മുംബയ് അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര വിമാനത്താവളത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യഘട്ടം പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. ഇതോടെ ഒന്നിലധികം വിമാനത്താവളങ്ങളുള്ള ലോക നഗരങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടികയിലേക്ക് മുംബയ് ഇടംനേടി. 19,650 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവില്‍, പന്‍വേലിനടുത്ത് 1,160 ഹെക്ടറിലായിട്ടാണ് വിമാനത്താവളം നിര്‍മ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.

2025 ഡിസംബറോടെ വിമാനത്താവളത്തിന്റെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം പൂര്‍ണമായി ആരംഭിക്കാനാണ് തീരുമാനം. വിമാന ടിക്കറ്റുകള്‍ ഒക്ടോബര്‍ മാസം മുതല്‍ ബുക്ക് ചെയ്യാന്‍ സാധിക്കുമെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. ഇന്‍ഡിഗോ, ആകാശ എയര്‍, എയര്‍ ഇന്ത്യ എക്‌സ്പ്രസ് തുടങ്ങിയ കമ്പനികള്‍ നവി മുംബൈ വഴിയുള്ള വിമാന സര്‍വീസുകള്‍ക്ക് തയ്യാറാണ്.

ആദ്യ ഘട്ടത്തില്‍ പ്രതിവര്‍ഷം 20 ദശലക്ഷം യാത്രക്കാരെ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യാന്‍ വിമാനത്താവളത്തിന് ശേഷിയുണ്ട്. എല്ലാ ഘട്ടങ്ങളും പൂര്‍ത്തിയാകുമ്പോള്‍ ഇത് പ്രതിവര്‍ഷം 90 ദശലക്ഷം യാത്രക്കാര്‍ വരെയായി ഉയരും. ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ദേശീയ പുഷ്പമായ താമരയുടെ മാതൃകയില്‍ ആകര്‍ഷകമായ രൂപകല്‍പ്പനയിലാണ് ടെര്‍മിനല്‍ ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുള്ളത്.

 

ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഗ്രീന്‍ഫീല്‍ഡ് വിമാനത്താവള പദ്ധതിയാണിത് എന്ന പ്രത്യേകതയുമുണ്ട്. കാര്‍ഗോ ശേഷി ആദ്യ ഘട്ടത്തില്‍ പ്രതിവര്‍ഷം 0.8 ദശലക്ഷം മെട്രിക് ടണ്ണും, അവസാന ഘട്ടത്തില്‍ 3 ദശലക്ഷം മെട്രിക് ടണ്ണുമായിരിക്കും.

കണക്റ്റിവിറ്റിക്ക് മുന്‍ഗണന നല്‍കിക്കൊണ്ടാണ് പദ്ധതി നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നത്. 2029 ഓടെ നവി മുംബയെ നിലവിലെ ഛത്രപതി ശിവാജി മഹാരാജ് അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര വിമാനത്താവളവുമായും മറ്റ് പ്രധാന പ്രദേശങ്ങളുമായും ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന മെട്രോ കണക്റ്റിവിറ്റി പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കാന്‍ പദ്ധതിയുണ്ട്.

 കൂടാതെ, ഗേറ്റ്വേ ഒഫ് ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്കും നവി മുംബയ് വിമാനത്താവളത്തിനും ഇടയില്‍ വാട്ടര്‍ ടാക്‌സി സര്‍വീസ് ആരംഭിക്കാന്‍ മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ആലോചിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഈ സേവനം യാത്രാ സമയം 40 മിനിറ്റായി കുറയ്ക്കാന്‍ സഹായിക്കും. 

പുതിയ റോഡുകള്‍, ഷട്ടില്‍ ബസുകള്‍, മുംബയ്  ട്രാന്‍സ് ഹാര്‍ബര്‍ ലിങ്ക് തുടങ്ങിയവ വഴിയും വിമാനത്താവളത്തില്‍ എളുപ്പത്തില്‍ എത്തിച്ചേരാനാകും. ഈ വിമാനത്താവളത്തിന്റെ വരവോടെ മുംബയിലെ ഛത്രപതി ശിവാജി മഹാരാജ് അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര വിമാനത്താവളത്തിലെ തിരക്ക് കുറയുമെന്നാണ് വിലയിരുത്തല്‍.

The terminal features an attractive design inspired by the lotus, India's national flower. NMIA is also India's largest Greenfield airport project. In terms of cargo capacity, the airport is set to handle 0.8 million metric tonnes in the first phase, eventually scaling up to 3 million metric tonnes.

Connectivity to the airport is being developed through multiple modes. Plans are underway to complete Metro connectivity by 2029, linking Navi Mumbai with CSMIA and other key areas. Furthermore, the Maharashtra government is considering a Water Taxi service between the Gateway of India and NMIA, which is expected to cut the travel time down to just 40 minutes. Additionally, new roads, shuttle buses, and the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) will ensure easy access to the airport from different parts of the city.
