ഹിമാചലില്‍ ബസ്സിനു മുകളില്‍ മലയിടിഞ്ഞുവീണ് 18 പേര്‍ മരിച്ചു, നിരവധി പേര്‍ കുടുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നു

ബിലാസ്പൂര്‍: ഹിമാചല്‍ പ്രദേശിലെ ബിലാസ്പൂര്‍ ജില്ലയില്‍ സ്വകാര്യ ബസ് ഇടിഞ്ഞുവീണ മലയുടെ അടിയില്‍ പെട്ട് 18 പേര്‍ മരിച്ചു. നിരവധി പേര്‍ അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങള്‍ക്കടിയില്‍ കുടുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കന്നു. ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച വൈകുന്നേരം വന്‍ മണ്ണിടിച്ചിലില്‍ ബസ് പെട്ടുപോവുകയായിരുന്നു.

മൂന്ന് പേരെ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തി. 30 മുതല്‍ 35 വരെ യാത്രക്കാരുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ബസ് ഹരിയാനയിലെ റോഹ്തക്കില്‍ നിന്ന് ബിലാസ്പൂരിനടുത്തുള്ള ഘുമാര്‍വിനിലേക്ക് പോവുകയായിരുന്നു. കനത്ത മഴയെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് മലയുടെ ഒരു ഭാഗം പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായി ഇടിഞ്ഞുവീണ് ബസ് മണ്ണിനടിയിലാവുകയായിരുന്നു.

ഝണ്ഡുത്ത നിയമസഭാ മണ്ഡലത്തിലെ ഭാലുഘട്ട് പ്രദേശത്തെ ഭല്ലു പാലത്തിന് സമീപമാണ് അപകടം നടന്നത്.

അപകടത്തില്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി സുഖ്വിന്ദര്‍ സിംഗ് സുഖു ദുഃഖം രേഖപ്പെടുത്തുകയും രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ ഊര്‍ജിതമാക്കാന്‍ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ക്ക് നിര്‍ദ്ദേശം നല്‍കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

'രക്ഷാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ യുദ്ധകാലാടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ നടന്നുവരുന്നു. മുഴുവന്‍ സംവിധാനങ്ങളും വിന്യസിക്കാന്‍ അധികാരികള്‍ക്ക് നിര്‍ദ്ദേശം നല്‍കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്,' അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. സംഭവത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വിവരങ്ങള്‍ അറിയാന്‍ പ്രാദേശിക ഭരണകൂടവുമായി താന്‍ നിരന്തരം ബന്ധപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു.

മൊത്തം മലയും ബസിനു മുകളിലേക്ക് ഇടിഞ്ഞുവീണതിനാല്‍ യാത്രക്കാര്‍ രക്ഷപ്പെടാനുള്ള സാധ്യത വിരളമാണെന്ന് ഒരു പോലീസുകാരന്‍ പറഞ്ഞതായി വാര്‍ത്താ ഏജന്‍സിയായ പിടിഐ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്തു.

Three people have been rescued so far. The bus, carrying around 30 to 35 passengers, was en route from Rohtak in Haryana to Ghumarwin, near Bilaspur. Due to heavy rain, an entire section of the hill came crashing down, burying the bus.

The accident occurred near the Bhallu Bridge in the Bhalughat area of the Jhandutta assembly segment.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed grief over the tragedy and directed officials to intensify the rescue operations.

"Rescue operations are ongoing on a war footing. Instructions have been given to the authorities to deploy their full machinery," he said. He added that he is constantly coordinating with the local administration for updates on the incident.

News agency PTI reported a policeman as saying that as the entire mountain came crashing down on the bus, the chances of survival for the passengers are bleak.
