മുംബയ്: മുംബയില്‍ എലിഫിന്‍സ്റ്റണ്‍ റോഡിനെയും പരേല്‍ സബര്‍ബന്‍ റെയില്‍വേ സ്റ്റേഷനെയും ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കാല്‍നടപ്പാതയിലുണ്ടായ തിക്കിലും തിരക്കിലും മരണം 27 ആയി.നിരവധി പേര്‍ക്ക് പരിക്കേറ്റിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇവരില്‍ പലരുടെയും നില ഗുരുതരമാണെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്.
നാലു ട്രെയിനുകള്‍ ഒരുമിച്ചു വന്നതും പെട്ടെന്നു മഴ പെയ്തതുമാണ് ദുരന്തകാരണമായത്. മഴ കനത്തതോടെ ജനം ഇടുങ്ങിയ മേല്‍പ്പാലത്തിലേക്കു തിക്കിത്തിരക്കി കയറി. ഇതിനിടെ, തങ്ങളുടെ ട്രെയിന്‍ പിടിക്കാനായി ചിലര്‍ തിരക്കു കൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തു. തിരക്ക് അനിയന്ത്രിതമായതോടെ പലരും നിലത്തു വീണു. ഇവരെ മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ ചവിട്ടിത്തേച്ചതാണ് ദുരന്തത്തിനിടയാക്കിയത്.

ദുരന്തത്തില്‍ രാഷ്ട്രപതി രാംനാഥ് കോവിന്ദ്, പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോഡി തുടങ്ങിയ നേതാക്കള്‍ അനുശോചനം രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി.
പുതിയ സര്‍വീസിന്റെ ഉദ്ഘാടനത്തിന് റെയില്‍വേ മന്ത്രി പീയൂഷ് ഗോയല്‍ മുംബയിലെത്തിയതിനു പിന്നാലെയായിരുന്നു ദുരന്തം. ദുരന്തത്തിന്റെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില്‍ മന്ത്രി പീയൂഷ് ഗോയല്‍ രാജിവയ്ക്കണമെന്ന് ശിവസേന ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.
